We have been using Pearl for 3 years now, using their services for home and rental properties. Cannot express enough how pleased we are with their service. Reuben has been our tech several times now and he is so kind and caring. He makes sure to go through each step he completed and gives details so I can understand what was done. Always answers questions. Our houses are older and have incurred some need for replacement. Pearl has always encouraged us to shop around and never pressured us into using their services. We do end up using them (venting replacement). Some key things we like about Pearl.

1. Offers bundling of heating/cooling change over
2. Prices comparable, if not on the lower end
3. Willing to explain issues and suggest solutions so we can find quotes ourselves
4. Kind and courteous
5. Guarantees their work and returns when issues arise either same day or close to it.
6. Have been one of the only services (after having big brands come out) to actually fix our issues.

The negative reviews listed here do not in anyway reflect our experience with Pearl. Pearl went out of their way to help us with a furnace issue no one else could solve. After dealing with two reputable companies, we were referred to Pearl by the second company because they specialize in high efficiency furnaces. They were able to solve the problem on their first trip. They were professional, courteous, and downright friendly. Our experience was such that we are now lifelong customers.

Pearl Mechanical did an incredible job from beginning to end, installing my new air conditioning and heating system. They were reasonably priced and very helpful and knowledgeable. I am recommending them to everyone I know!

The folks at Pearl Mechanical are skilled, honest & reliable. In 2020, they installed a new mini split system that both heats and cools our house. As happens with all contractors, there were bumps along the way, these guys promply returned all calls and always addressed the issue. It's been four years since installation and the system continues to work flawlessly.

Pearl Mechanical's quote came in at half that of the big HVAC company with a dog in their logo, with zero sales pressure, unlike the high pressure close of the other guys. Both quoted the same equipment.

The owners are modest and don't point this out on their website but the father Al, is a retired airforce master sargent and son Matt, is an Ohio State graduate, on a wrestling scholarship, with a degree in electrical engineering. Al named the company after his wife because "everything in life is better with Pearl".

I used Pearl Mechanical in 2018 so I've had time to evaluate the work. We completed an addition with a whole new HVAC system for the house; 2 units servicing the house.
1. In the original portion of the house the vents for the bedrooms were placed directly inside of the door. In order to heat the room, the door has to be closed. It would have made sense to put the only vent in the room... actually in the room. It is unbelievable that an HVAC contractor would think this is the best vent placement.
2. The vents in the addition were placed in the most likely place a bed would be. Both of my kids have the vents blowing directly on them at night. We've moved one kid's bed but the other room is small enough that isn't a possibility.
3. Instead of placing a clean run from the unit to the vents on the original portion of the house - they did some weird tie in that is sloppy and inefficient. I'll get up on the attic and attach pics.
4. Gave them 2 stars bcz they did get it installed...

I should have used a different contractor for the work but they came highly recommended... my $20K mistake

If you plan on applying just go somewhere else. I promise any other company would be better for you. Childish and petty company.

I was recommended by family that this company is reputable but they are not. Initially they gave me an estimate which was outrageous (over a grand) so I decided to buy most of the parts they recommended. They did tell me the parts were not "guaranteed". So I bought the water heater, gas line, expansion tank and the few other parts they said I needed. In the end, they did not confer with me about those new parts I bought and they only used the water heater I bought at Lowe's but not the new parts (their choice) It seemed like they were trying to save me money, which I appreciated, but now my water heater is leaking from the top. The owner Al, came out, tightened it and said it should never leak again. It did, so I called him again and he said he would come out and fix it. This was 2.5 weeks ago, (water heater is still leaking all this time BTW) NEVER said "Oh by the way, we are charging you labor plus the part." I assumed since they did not use the new parts I bought, that that was on them. I called him and tried to work it out. I told him that when I called him the second time he did not tell me upfront he was charging me labor and that I needed to buy the new part. He decides to call me two days BEFORE to say, "Oh btw, I am charging you labor and parts." I did not appreciate him not being upfront, assumed since they did not use the new parts I bought, that that was on them. Nooooooo, I was sadly mistaken. This company IMO is all about the $$ and not good customer service. Now I have to call someone else to come out and do the job they SHOULD have done in the first place! I am so disappointed because they came highly recommended. Don't try to reason with Al the owner either, because he will try to make you feel like it is your fault, he will raise his voice and yell at you, he even had the audacity to say to me, "Oh, I knew you would say that" as if the situation was my fault, when clearly, it is not. He has so much business right now his only concern is making that dough and not great customer service. I do not recommend this company.

***In response to the below reply now 3 years later. I understand that old parts need to be replaced; what I was upset about is that I never received a call that explained that or the fact that your company decided on it's own to finish the job the way you did, without giving the homeowner (myself) any information at all or the decision to let you push forth and finish the work. I spent a lot of money buying the parts and in the end, your company did not use much of what I bought, instead I feel like you just did what YOU wanted without including me, the homeowner. Next time, communicate with your customers that way we know what work you will be doing.

**Also it took this company now several years to realize the quality service they say they offer to everyone has been going down in form of reviews on the internet for everyone to see. I got a call from the owners son several years later saying his parents (Al and Pearl) didn't know about reviews and how the internet can work against their business. While the son apologized for what happened in my case, it seems only now are they trying to save their reputation because oooo it's on Google review. It looks like I'm not the only one who had had trouble with this company. If you are one who is satisfied with their service then kudos to you 👏👏👏 because I guarantee that there will be a point that if you work with them again, they will screw you over like they did me and the other gentleman who worked for them. It sounds like it was good he got out while he did and no wonder he was looking for another job, that says it all!!

My experience with this place cheap on material cannot be trusted says he's a family man but when it works out for him. My experience he cannot be trusted tells you one thing and does another I should know I've worked for him.
