I wish I could give them 6 stars. These guys are the nicest shop keepers in all of DC. Additionally, there is such a wide variety of liquors and such unique brands. I walked in here to make a quick grab but ended up leaving with a new favorite bottle shop.

I go to this store way too often. The staff there is alway very friendly. They often have samples, and they have a large selection for such a tiny store.

The prices aren’t great, but typical for the area. I wish the had more beer singles and smaller bottles.

The owner of Modern Liquors & his staff are exceptional! I was looking for a particular scotch, and could only find a few bottles here at Modern Liquor, and at a really reasonable price. Since I live very far from D.C., I ordered online, and called the store to ask when they would ship my order. They were amazing! So helpful, so reliable, & so honest - they even shipped all the bottles together and saved me money on the shipping cost. I will always shop at Modern Liquor from now on. Wonderful!

Everyone in DC should buy from this place! Incredibly nice people work here and deserve your cash. Store was closed but we we’re in desperate need of red solo cups… guy sweeping out front was super nice and went inside to grab us some. Will buy from them whenever we’re in DC!

Very friendly and engaging staff! So knowledgeable about their products, which was a great variety and reasonably priced. Some really great red wines and well sourced bourbon. Definitely will be back!

Best Liquor store in the District! Family run - the guys who run it - all brothers, so kind, generous, cool and knowledgeable about alcohol. Really unbelievable service and great selection. Always helpful and solid pricing. Don’t get your booze anywhere else!

I lived in a Shaw for a long time and this place was one of my favorites. They often have tastings on the weekends. Not necessarily the cheapest place to buy but super friendly staff and good selection overall. Check out their delivery app Liqour Express which has no fees unlike drizzly.

A lovely, family-run liquor store that's been around for a while. Really friendly and helpful staff, great selection, and fair prices. I think they still sell growlers too, at a good rate. Also really responsive to customer requests.

Very international selection of beers, one of the best I’ve seen in DC. Prices are good and the staff is exceptional and very helpful. Nothing bad to say about this place!

Rarely do you find a liquor store where the staff is as knowledgeable as this. I’ve bought from here many times and found the staff to be friendly and informed. Above all else, they have everything you would need and more!

Great store great staff very friendly the cashier was such a nice man handed me three matches instead of trying to sell me your lighter I highly recommend this place
