Boathouse Bar and Grill

Off the beaten path was this quiet little bar. At least it was when we stopped in at 2:30 p.m. on a weekday just in time for the start of happy hour! They have these huge chicken poppers, handmade and perfectly cooked, crunchy, and gooey cheesy! The onion rings are thickly battered, so very crispy and delish. At one point, we were the only ones there (if you don't count the blackbirds who wanted nibbles) and really enjoyed the shady deck with water view. The waitress was very friendly and great, and gave us discounts on everything! I hope to come back sometime for the live music and fun!

The burger with eggs was great, Nick up stairs was super friendly and helpful, as with everyone. grilled chicken was awesome as well view is great!

Loved the food. Especially liked the Cook Your Catch option. The blackened fish we brought in turned out wonderful. The service was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant. The Happy Hour drinks are delicious too. And the decor was creative with a "boat" theme.

The food is consistently good, but can vary from cook to cook!! For example, one day the onion rings are in a delicate mild batter, another day the batter is much thicker and spicy. I'm never really sure what I'll get! The staff is always friendly and kind.

Definitely go! The atmosphere would have been MUCH better, but... I went on Christmas in the evening. There was only a family there with 2 or 3 young kids. The kids were not watched very well and clearly the parents didn't seem to mind them running around. The youngest or next to youngest, was acting up screaming and the parents did not really do anything about it.
The bartender was slow and he did say the usual girl was off that night.
I guess because it was so dead, they didn't care about the ambiance or lighting. The lights were all on really bright, there was no football game on at all!!!
The food was great! I'm sure the atmosphere and service are normally much better!

House was packed, cook walked out... yet this was by far the best dining experience we had on our vacation. The food was very good. Our server doing the best she could, and the manager actually cooking provided the perfect recipe for a memorable evening.
In the midst of tired, sunburned and upset customers, they didn't stop doing their job. Professionalism at this level is noteworthy. Thank you for providing a wonderfully memorable evening and great dinner for our family.

The atmosphere at this place is great! We sat on the patio with a view of the water. The Jam Band was awesome, especially the base player! There was a relatively small crowd for a Saturday and how good the band and the food were. It picked up around nine. We had the dance floor (which is just a wood patio, so don't wear stilettos) to ourselves for the first set!! The fried Mac and cheese tasted incredible--a crunchy, battered shell with creamy, cheesy, mouth-watering macaroni and ranch dip. The nachos, which I forgot to take a picture of, had tons of fresh, chopped tomatoes and cilantro. They just needed more cheese. Will definitely be back!

What a fun place, we ate an early dinner yesterday before the crowd arrived and really enjoyed our visit. Our server/bartender was great!! She was very welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. Food was delicious and prepared perfectly!! The restrooms could definitely use some attention and care though.....they were a little rough

Good burger! Cold beer! What else do you want?

it was nice they only had 1 cook and 1 server but they still managed to do and extreme job and it made me happy to see them still enjoying their job and serving all while under stress serving our party of 10
while doing 5 other tables of 4 each

Amazing atmosphere, wait staff, menu for all tastes. Outdoor patio bartenders, tables with the beautiful evening view of the water were superb! Inside bar, staff and dining area was just awesome! The food was delicious from the boiled shrimp to the fried platter everything was delicious! Can’t wait to come back soon!

Good food, great service, fine location. New manager Ashley has her ducks in a row to make this a go-to joint any day of the week. Thanks to the whole crew -- especially Kim, Stacia and Kylie -- for an enjoyable late afternoon stop on our way home. We appreciate y'all! 😊✊🌷

Our bartender was also our server. She was very helpful and friendly. I believe her name was Haley. The food we had was really good, I had the gumbo and a caesar salad, and my husband had fish tacos. Everything was delicious.

Great fresh peel & eat shrimp! Husband had the fried fish with hand dipped onion rings that were also very good! Be patient, they're short on staff(see last image of sign on door) Drinks are very good & reasonably priced. Staff is attentive as can be for being short staffed. We walked over from our rental condo and will recommend on the review of the condo too!

Great food. Fun atmosphere. Pretty loud so not for a quiet romantic dinner.

The food here is amazing. The service is also very good. You must come have their chicken fried chicken.

An incredible little place with the best food, staff and views. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for fairly priced food and a great bar selection. The water view makes the entire experience worth it. Hailey, Hailey, Kim and everyone there are super great folks.

The bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp was amazing!! It was pretty dead in there when we went (Christmas weekend), but the dock theme was fun and the food tasty.

This place has a great island vibe! Love to support local restaurants and location was perfect on North Padre. It has a laid back style and both indoor and outdoor dining. We didn’t mind waiting as they got busy during our visit but Eric our server was friendly and doing his best. We loved the food which was perfect for the island. Fish tacos with generous portions of Mahi Mahi blackened. They had live entertainment and a generous happy hour. Locals and tourist alike seemed to enjoy the place which is always a good sign!
