Patterson Elementary School

Awesome school with excellent faculty. Very clean buildings, and most importantly very secure and cautious with managing student drop off and pick up. Not to mention the great neighborhood around is just a bonus to this outstanding school.

I started the 6th grade there when it was brand new in the fall of 1958 with my red headed girl friend, Linda McClintock. We had previously gone to Pearl Rucker elementary when it was brand new 5 years earlier starting the 1st grade through the 5th.
At Patterson our 6th grade teacher was Mr Hover who drove a yellow Studebaker then Miss Trice who had a black Jaguar sedan- a real cutie.
Mrs Chumbley was the principal and had Mr Hover give me 5 pops for carving Linda's name in my brand new desk.
I was the1st one to get poped at Patterson.
When we graduated the 6th grade to go on to Deady Jr high, we all received metal disks on a necklace that said
"P 59". The girl's were round and the boy's were square.
The school was across the street from Forest Oaks Baptist church that I grew up in.
I have many fond memories of Patterson and the culture of the time and "Sputnik"
It was a great time to be a kid then a teenager.

I live that school so much now I in middle school I miss the teachers there I think about me and my brother there walking with our friend to school and back home and I like man I just wish it was happening now

This school has worst dismissal procedures I have ever seen. It is not organized at all. There's cars going everywhere. There's cars parking in the line and there's not telling what line does what since some are moving and some are parked. This school needs to get that time of school more organized. I drop off my daughter at forest oaks to get to her class. I try to get in line and the line turns into parked cars and when I get to drop her off I can't because they say I have to get in line. Well what line if it's all mixed up. I just hope the educational part doesn't back fire later on. This post was posted August 26 2016

I agree with other parents. The traffic is horrible. Not everyone has kids at this school, so I do not know if its even legal for cars to block the way through. Cars are making double lines, so cars go through the opposite lane. I just found out today that the kids get dismmised at different times, so some parents have to get out of the line and go all around to get their kids! I think the school should make room for the buses to park at the front of the school, then the regular cars. If you dismiss the bus kids first, then those buses will be gone sooner and you can have one line for cars.

Worst School ever the administration is a joke a bunch of what we dont need in our schools people who are only there for a Paycheck but dont really care for the kids. Not to mention the young girls at the front office. One cant take serious a school who has 3 lazy kids as their face front. They are always eating and talking about personal stuff. I never walk in thru the front and saw one of them behave properly. I cant wait to the school year is over I dont trust this school and my children will never go to the school again ever.

I regreat enrolling my daughter here. This school did not let my 4yr old get in line for lunch and as a result she did not eat all day. When i went to the school all they did was make excuse after excuse to cover their behinds. Please avoid this school. They will neglect your child and blame the child for not telling a diffrent adult after already telling one that they dont have a sack lunch. Horrible school.
