Nestled in the Mount Vernon Triangle, this Thai restaurant is a hidden gem that promises an authentic culinary journey through Thailand. The menu boasts a diverse selection of Thai dishes, each prepared with precision and a perfect balance of flavors.

One standout starter is the chicken Golden-fried pockets, where the delicate balance of sweet, sour, and spicy creates a symphony for the taste buds. We also ordered Spicy-sweet calamari, which was OK.

As a main course I tried Chicken red curry with chayote, which was delicious but spicy and hot. Comes with jasmine rice and i loved it. She tried the Thai vermicelli in chili peanut sauce, she liked the dish too.

The attentive staff adds to the overall charm, offering recommendations and ensuring every diner feels pampered. Vegetarians will find plenty to savor with options. The portions are generous, making it ideal for one person, but not shareable size.

In summary, Baan Siam excels not only in delivering delectable cuisine but also in creating a memorable dining atmosphere.

Everything in general are great, it might be a little sad for people who can't take any spice boz most of their spicy dishes are great , but the none spicy foods are great too. Especially the crispy lotus roots & grilled shrimp salad is my favorite appetizer and their curry I must order.

Chose Baan Siam on moment's notice and ended up loving it! For starters, I tried the Thai-style beef jerky and the Spicy-sour soup with shrimp. Both were very good, and I will likely get the soup every time I come back. The beef jerky has a nice flavor and the sauce that comes with it on the side might be one of the best all-around sauces I've ever had (I saved it for my meal). I also had some of the Green mango salad, which has a nice sweet flavor and wasn't filling. For my entree, I got the Shrimp chili paste fried rice with crispy pork belly, which was definitely the right choice. That pork belly was so good and the portion was perfect. The shrimp chili paste made the fried rice so delicious and much better than just a regular fried rice. As I mentioned before, I reused the side sauce from the beef jerky to dip the pork belly in, and OH MY was it so good. There were other things on the menu that I was curious to try, but the entree I ordered was so good that I might order it again the next time I eat here.

First time coming here for a family dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious from the fried mushroom to the duck fried rice! Our waiter was very attentive and explained the menu well. I would definitely come back!

The best Thai restaurant! Everything I ordered was excellent!! The service is also excellent! It’s very fast and food was prepared perfectly! On top of that, the price is reasonable for the quality of food, service, atmosphere and location. I’ve tried 3 of the 4 desserts with my sister. They’re all delicious. We’ll come back to try the other items on the menu. My favorites are mango salad, fried pumpkin as the starter. My favorite main dishes are fried bronzino (whole fish, but it’s actually already fillet when served), and Chicken Khao Soi. But I’m sure the rest of the food is good too. I’m going back definitely to try the rest of the items on the menu. By the way, there’s no pad Thai dish here.

Baan Siam is an amazing place to grab food and relax. This place is a hidden gem. I thought this was an any ordinary Thai restaurant, until I tried their food. Every dish that I ordered and tried was delicious. I especially love their Tom Kha Gai dish; and I don't usually drink soup. That it in itself says a lot about the soup. It is very flavorful. The other dishes were Green Mango Salad, Shrimp Chili Paste Fried Rice with Crispy Pork Belly and Northern Thai Pork Curry. It is safe to say that everything was A+. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. It is a must visit when in the area

Such delicious food! I’m a huge fan of Thai food but Baan Siam has some dishes I haven’t seen in other Thai restaurants before.

We started out with the papaya salad which was so light and refreshing. For the entree I got the shrimp chili paste fried rice and got fried chicken to replace the pork belly that normally comes with it. It was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the rice was so good with a good spice to it. I tried my friends red curry as well which was also delicious. Everyone loved their dishes and we all want to come back to try new things too. It was a great dinner and great meal!

So far the best Thai food in DC area🧙

My favorite is the beef green curry. All flavors of the ingredients blend so well and the shredded coconut is the finishing touch! I love the strong and appropriate spicy taste.

The texture of papaya curry is more like soup, but also tastes good. It's more spicy than green curry and lasts longer in mouth 🥴

All the dishes we ordered tasted good.
There's not a lot of dessert options but want to try next time!

We came here randomly while visiting the area. The restaurant itself is also nice on the inside but still a casual space.

I thought I’ve had good Thai food before but this place blows everything else out of the water. Absolutely phenomenal food. Big, tasty portions Highly recommend.

This was quite possibly one of the best Thai meals I have had in my life. We were a group of four and each got something different and everything was fantastic. The drinks were also very fresh and refreshing. Service was fantastic and a reservation is definitely recommended.

The ambiance is amazing. It is so beautiful inside. I couldn't stop looking around. It was beautiful

Our server was so kind and brought us our water quickly. I'm used to Thai restaurants where you can choose your heat level but they don't do that here. There is a lot of spicy food.

I ended up ordering the Beef Nham Dtok salad. I asked for it not spicy. The beef was perfectly booked and flavorful. It paired nicely withe the crisp lettuce and I loved the citrus dressing.

Grilled pork skewers were delicious and the dipping sauce was divine.

My friend ordered the pineapple chicken bites. There were small but super yummy and the sweet savory chicken bites was perfect with the fresh pineapple.

Coconut milk griddle snacks reminded me of elbeskevers. They were a perfect bite of coconut and had the smoothest, creamy texture.

Overall it was an amazing dining experience. We were able to eat without reservations but it sounds like reservations later in the day are required.

Also it is just down the street from a fun farmers market on weekends.

Baan Siam in Washington D.C. is an absolute gem! My dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance that transported me straight to the heart of Thailand.

The menu at Baan Siam offers a delightful array of authentic Thai dishes, and each one was a flavorful masterpiece. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was impeccable. The variety of options caters to every taste preference.

The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were more than happy to answer any questions about the menu or offer recommendations. They went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

The attention to detail at Baan Siam is truly commendable. The restaurant's interior is beautifully decorated with subtle Thai touches, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends and family.

I must mention that the Pad Thai at Baan Siam is simply divine! The balance of flavors and the texture of the noodles were spot on, making it one of the best I've ever had. I also loved their Tom Yum soup – the spiciness and the aromatic herbs were just right, providing a true taste of Thailand.

Another thing that impressed me was the reasonable pricing. Considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience, I found it to be excellent value for money.

Whether you are a Thai food enthusiast or simply looking to try something new and delicious, Baan Siam is the place to go in Washington DC. I can't wait to visit again and savor more of their delightful dishes. Thank you, Baan Siam, for a memorable dining experience!

Best Vietnamese food I’ve had in DC. Also a big fan of the fact they specialize in Northern Vietnamese cuisine with dishes like Khao Soi

Every dish I tried was full of flavor and umami.

Great food and good service. We were seated promptly when we arrived at the door. The host was attentive and polite. He took us to the table and immediately served a cold bottle of water.

The food was extremely fast considering how big the restaurant is. The first item that got my attention on the menu was lotus root. Even restaurants in Thailand don’t usually serve this menu. The taste is good.

The servers keep checking on us to make sure the service and food were good. If you visit DC and want to try some Thai food, check this restaurant out for sure.

Not be confused with traditional Thai food this is Northern Thai and a bit different but delicious none the less. Lots of seating, polite, attentive server and a menu that features a bit of everything and very fresh tasting.

Let me start off by saying that if you want your typical pad Thai, pad see ew, or drunken noodles — you won’t find it on their menu here. That’s quite a deliberate choice by this restaurant in steering itself away from being associated with basic street food fare. This place is quite elevated in the fact that they have menu items that are not commonly found in other Thai restaurants. Many of the items are quite nostalgic and it reminds me of home cooking by mom, grandma, and the aunties. This place has excellent Thai food and be fully aware that these dishes come with a DC price tag, expect to pay $20-25 per dish and also keep in mind that these entrees are meant to be shared “family style” so you shouldn’t be ordering something just for yourself.
