I was there for a work trip and the entire experience was wonderful! Check in with Mahmoud Abdalla was welcoming and efficient! The room was appointed beautifully and was immaculate. Annette did a wonderful job refreshing the room each day: it was evident that she takes great pride in her work. She also helped an issue I had with my dress/suit. The staff at Anthem were terrific and the breakfast was delicious! I felt very safe at the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Thank you!

My partner and I stayed here on a Saturday-Monday trip to visit friends in the area. Overall, a very nice stay and I’d stay here again in the future.

We arrived early (12:30pm) and were able to get into our room right away, and due to my Platinum status were upgraded to an executive suite. The hotel did not seem too busy this weekend and I get the sense it is more of a weekday conference/business traveler hotel so your experience may vary on upgrade availability.
We also got a $30 daily dining credit for on-site restaurants which was a nice perk as well. Overall, nice smooth check-in experience with friendly desk workers.

The suite was spacious, clean, and quiet and had lots of windows for nice natural light. Bed was comfortable. Only two minor gripes:
1) it was a bit tricky to get the shower to a good temperature as it would transition right from too hot to too cold (at least for my preference). But I only took a couple of very short showers so it didn’t matter much.
2) Bed only had a nightstand on one side. Not a problem if you’re traveling alone but not so good for a couple. Even a very small shelf for my glasses, phone, and a glass of water would have been a plus.

Gym was nice with lots of equipment; FYI there are two levels with a staircase connecting them inside the gym - my partner missed that initially and was confused to not find a weight rack on the floor you enter on.

Only used the lounge briefly a couple of times but it had a nice selection of desserts in the evening and breakfast options in the morning as well as drinks. The attendant working at the door at breakfast was very nice.

Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient to grab coffee in the morning without going out in the cold.

This review is about hosting/attending conferences: The 2024 ERN conference was held here and it was spacious! There was a lot of room for exhibitors to set up their tables. There are great cafés/restaurants inside of the hotel for if you need to grab something to eat. From what I’ve heard the rooms are nice.

I stayed here many years ago and loved it. A return trip was worth it as I have always loved the Marquis brand from Marriott. Classy architecture with a responsive staff. I stayed on the 15th floor and was able to see the indoor sculpture. The room was comfortable and clean.

An added bonus was seeing how the hotel recognizes its neighborhoods and universities, especially HBCUs like Howard and UofDC.

Stayed 2 nights at the Marriot on business. Accommodations were terrific, and the restaurant on site was good. Hotel is located close to some diverse restaurants and bars, and is convenient to the subway system. Be prepared to open your wallet, being so close to these amenities is not cheap. Can someone please explain why I always get the handicap accessible rooms ? I really don't need all those bars in the bathroom.

This hotel is big. For a big conference at the convention center there maybe long line to get to the reservation desk. If you try the mobile key they say it may take an hour or more. The rooms are nice and what you would except from a Marriott Marquis. The concierge lounge is large and their is a good desert selection. Sorry, we missed the happy hour but I am sure it was good based on the desert selection.
There is a tunnel in between the hotel and the convention center. Makes it super easy.
One thing to note, the valet parking is $60/night.

Really enjoyed the somewhat liminal feel of the inner courtyard, especially when seen from these disco lit lounge areas.

Perfect for attending the convention. I do feel it's a bit stingy of them to not include breakfast and not have WiFi unless you sign up to be member (although signing up is free). But if you fly in fresh and have no reliable access to data, you would have no way to access WiFi at the hotel without going online first to get a membership. A bit of a pickle.

Rooms were nice, spacious, clean. Good room service.

Loved my stay here during my work trip.
The room was spacious and super clean. I was able to get free internet since I am Marriott Bonvey member. They have a restaurant and the breakfast & service was excellent.

I only wished they had a shuttle for DCA airport since they are super close from the airport.

The first thing I noticed when I walked into the room was the smell of .... CLEAN! Really good accommodation, a bit pricey, but not for the neighborhood. Close to a lot of good restaurants and an easy 20-minute walk to the White House. Rated it a 4 on location just because it wasn't super close to the attractions, but still pretty close.

Was there for work a couple of days, and it was great as usual. Rooms are always clean, staff is absolutely amazing from check-in to valet. Definitely will stay again when I’m in DC.

Although pricey it is so conveniently located that it's worth it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Shower was strong and hearty. Room service food options are limited. But the food we ordered was surprisingly tasty. Valet service is great. Be forewarned. It now costs $65 per day.

I had an exceptional check-in experience at the hotel, thanks to Jasmine with her assistance in pre arrival and Sinead at the Front Desk. Their warm welcome and personalized attention made us feel truly special, setting the perfect tone for our vacation. In a hotel with over a 1,000 rooms, the ability to create a memorable and personalized check in experience is truly impressive. Kudos to them for making our stay memorable right from the start! Thank you both!

Update: Today, I spoke to Philip Shortino, the resident manager, and he was lovely and gracious. He understood my frustration and immediately offered to refund the money that I had been charged. That gesture speaks volumes and I will definitely try the Marriott Marquis when I'm next in DC. Thank you, Mr. Shortino! have been a Bonvoy member for many years and hope that membership has its privileges but not so at this Marriott location. I reserved a two night stay and got sick (contagious) and phoned them to cancel. I called over 24 hours before my arrival and the manager refused to refund my deposit. (One night’s stay) I am surprised of the shortsightedness of that decision. And I was angry that Marriott doesn’t step in in such a situation instead leaving the refund to the discretion of the manager. If the manager is this stingy and inhospitable, I would avoid staying there. The woman who answered the phone at the Marquis was condescending - making me feel like she was glad that I got denied a refund.

Amazing hotel. Service is exceptional. Very Clean. Location has been ideal for us. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. Im on day 2, so i have alot more ground to cover. The only thing that hasn't been perfect is not having a place to get snacks and drinks for the room. We don't have a car, so the only place I've found is a CVS one block away. It's pricey, but I can walk there to get little things. I would be happy to stay here again!

One of the nicest Marriott locations in the District. Extremely well maintained. Excellent service throughout. On-prem restaurants and bars are quite nice.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. The restaurant has good food - breakfast and lunch. There is also a Starbucks on site.

Good hotel, very large and spacious. Large two-story gym facility on the third floor. Rooms are a little bit dated but clean and have a full size desk, office chair, and direct Ethernet connection for laptops.

A friend was in town staying here. We ate at the lobby bar, the lamb tacos and the shrimp dumplings are great! The service was nice and knowledgeable and very friendly.

As a platinum elite member my gf and I really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Marriott Marquis. At first we were skeptical because of how busy the hotel looked because there was a large convention with so many people checking in and coming into the valet entrance . However the valets were very quick and attentive despite the chaos of numerous guests coming to the hotel, DC traffic, and bad weather . When my gf and I got to the front desk there was nobody at the Platinum desk when we arrived however the gentlemen working with other customer did come over to assist us in about 5 min and it was nice that our room was ready at 2pm instead of the normal 4pm. The room was very clean and bed extremely comfortable. When we came back later that evening we enjoyed some really good drinks at the Dignitary bar and service was adequate . In our checkout morning we were able to confirm late checkout from Milena at the front desk via chat who was nice enough to allow us to checkout late at 2 pm and still have access to the M lounge. As a frequent exerciser the gym was awesome because it very expansive and well-equipped. Gym staff was also very attentive and friendly, We want give special thanks to Milena and all the staff at the Marriott Marquis and we are excited to stay there the next time we come to DC. I only complaints are that the hotel valet entrance is small and is on such a congested street which makes it difficult to bring in your car or get a ride . However , I know that can’t really be changed and that the valets were very good at organizing the chaos. The eggs were runny in the M Lounge but the other food was very good and staff very attentive..

Great hotel convenient to convention center and metro stop. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and provided a great night's rest. My only con was that as an Elite member, there is a separate check-in desk, but the two ladies at this desk thought their conversation was more important than checking me in. Once the regular check-in desk was available, customer service was great, and check-in was a breeze. Besides the elite members' check-in, everyone else at the hotel was extremely helpful and courteous
I will definitely stay here when I return to DC
