National Archives Museum

You don’t need tickets to enter the archive, but the security checkup can take a while. You might be able to get a designated visit time from the website but don’t know if that will let you get through security faster.
The suggested time for staying is 30 mins if you just swift through everything 1.5 hours if you’re really into everything.

This wad truly a lifelong hope of mine. To see the founding documents. The architecture is stunning and representative of a time when people cared as much for the look and feel of a structure as they did making a profit.
The workers were genuinely some of the nicest people. I was speechless. Just an honor to visit.

Another must stop when visiting! Here lays the documents that make America great! The original Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. I visited with my 3 kids and awesome to experienced it together. A valuable treasure to take back home!

I have lived in the DC area for nearly 5 years and have been a constant visitor to this town for past 10 years. Unfortunately I have never visited this museum until last week. It was such a great place to visit. Standing next to the Declaration of Independence document or the US constitution gave all sorts of feelings of love and pride to this great country.
The museum also has audio/video displays explaining detailing the history of key constitutional amendments

Really cool place to visit if you want to see some of the nation’s history. A cool addition is a copy of the Magna Carta on display which unlike the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights you can take a picture of. As a fan of architecture this building is really beautiful with its high Corinthian columns feels like walking into a Roman, Greek temple.

Wonderful museum! Housing the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. In addition, displays about those involved in the documents and those affected by them and the roads endured in relation to the purpose of each. Worth visiting in DC for sure by every American and those from abroad to begin to understand what the USA is all about... for the people, all people! Went on a Saturday and waited 40 minutes to get in. No fee, but if you choose to donate, you can skip the line ($60 for two, $110 for four entries).

See the documents that formed a nation, the struggle to keep the nation together, and everything in between. See a complaint from a widowed woman in the 1800s who wanted to know why she had to pay taxes if she could not vote - isn’t that taxation without representation!?! See the military service records of revolutionary soldiers and spies. See the signers original signatures on the original documents. See a letter from the King noting that the colonies are in open rebellion. These are not reproductions - this is all original - amazing. Open daily 10-5:30 with free entry. Good bathrooms, a little cafe, and a souvenir shop await your visit.

Spectacular!! What a gorgeous venue!!! Work held our annual dinner with the board here and it was amazing!!! Food was pretty good (although folks who got the fish reported it was very dry/overcooked).
The private tour guides and ambiance really MADE this event!!!

Well worth the visit. You are able to view the original copy of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. Very amazing to see these original documents.

If there is any downside to your visit here, it is that you aren't able to take photos in any of the displays, including the above listed documents. That makes sense when talking about the Constitution, etc. because of the damage flash photography does, but the other displays? I wondered about that.

This is a cool museum in the national mall to look at some old historical documents. While you can't really take pictures while inside, the experience was really cool. We especially loved the chance to see the Declaration of Independence. That document is very faded, by the way. Thank goodness we've made copies!

Great history being able to see the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights and other rotating exhibitions. But wait there's more! Cool historical cars to see also on display. Unfortunately a portion of the museum was under renovation when I visited but the rotunda was open. Beautiful architecture and easy to get to being just a block off of The Mall.

I enjoyed the National Archives Museum. They don't allow any picture taking inside the museum. The Rotunda gallery with the founding documents was a big highlight. The sports exhibit and the exhibit with the Magna Carta were also great.

Often overlooked in comparison to other attractions on The Mall, this is a very good museum. Seeing the founding documents somehow gives you goosebumps. The museum is small and well-organized. the exhibition on the main floor presents different aspects of American history, but the main attraction (IMHO) is on the second floor. They ask not to photograph the founding documents, but many ignore this request. They also have tours (I overheard one) that tell the history of each of these documents and the small part that I've heard was very well delivered. Very worthwhile visit.

Currently under construction but we were still able to get to everything that we wanted to see. The Magna Carta was very cool to see and was my favorite document outside of the founding documents. The rotunda was pretty crowded but we waited in line and got some time to see the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. If you come on a busier day I would recommend reservations or be ready to wait in a line.

This free museum currently has an exhibit dedicated to sports and its impact on culture and civil rights. I highly recommend a visit. It's also home to the precious documents that are the backbone of the United States of America. Well worth a visit!

This is the only place you can see some oldest original documents in US. The most famous ones are Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Highly recommend timed entry tickets, but the wait is tolerable if you don't have them. A great collection of national documents and other items.

If you visit three things while in DC… this is the first place you should visit. To see the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of rights was so great. Words can’t truly express my feelings how powerful they are.

Consider being a member and make a donation to the National Archives. That’s what we did. You skip the normal waits in line and have a separate entrance. Arrive about 30 minutes before it opens.

Great free experience for the most important documents in our nation's history. Highly recommend people to visit.
