Residence Inn by Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center

The rooms were a good size and well cleaned. The free breakfast buffet has a good variety and the lobby restaurant also had a good selection for dinner. Great location for the convention center and not too far of a walk from many site seeing activities and museums.

Very nice hotel with modern design. New and fast elevator. Everything was fine. We enjoyed the breakfast even though it was hectic and crowded during the holidays. Two thumbs up 👍

Great hotel within walking distance of anything you want to do in DC, including the convention center and the Mall. Bus stops and Metro stations all right next to it. The rooms did not disappoint, and the bar, The Delegate, is a great choice for drinks or food.

Absolutely love this place, it was the second time I visited and I had my hotel changed to this one specifically. Breakfast is good, starts early, has a restaurant with a decent menu, rooms are really nice, love the revolving TV, sizeable bathrooms, rooftop bar with limited menu, a gym if you are into that, near and in downtown but away from the buzz. Good front desk staff. Parking is a problem in this part of town and the valet is ridiculously expensive at about $60 per night but they do a good job. The common areas are clean and wide open for a nicer feel, great aesthetics, interiors, decors and touches overall.

I have just returned home after a five night stay at this hotel while on a busy solo business trip. After issues at other Residence Inn hotels in the past few years (paper thin windows and horrible wi-fi), I stopped booking this brand for my work trips.

After reading through tons of reviews, I decided to take a chance and try the brand again. I am very happy to report that I was very pleased with every aspect of my stay. The rooms are spacious with full sized refrigerators and microwaves (plus a cook top and dishwasher that I never use). The television was on a rotating stand which was also a nice touch for viewing the news in the living room area or bedroom. Many hotels still have fixed televisions which are hard to view from different areas of the room. The windows were thick and only heard one siren during my entire stay even though being located on a busy street corner. The elevators were fast as were the valet attendants. Breakfast was standard for hotels but the nice touch were breakfast sandwiches for busy work days. The staff was helpful and were quick to respond when contacted.

The hotel is in the process of changing the style of thermostat which I think is necessary. The loud fan on my HVAC blew 24 hours a day without a way to turn it off. It is a motion activated unit but many hotels that I have visited recently have this feature. If you want your room cold, cranking it down to a low temperature is available but I didn't need the room as cold as a refrigerator like some people enjoy. The only thing I think the hotel is definitely lacking are towel racks in the bathroom. The small rack installed didn't even hold two towels and I ended up hanging my wet ones on the closet door handles. With more than one person in a room, that might be an inconvenience.

I stayed in room 639 and would definitely choose this hotel and room again in the future.

This was our first stay here and it could not have been better. Very easy to get to both Union Station (bus) and DCA (Metro).

Location is perfect right next to convention center. It was also a 15-20 minute walk to the Mall and all the museums. Plenty of great restaurants nearby.

Frank at the front desk was very helpful on several occasions during our stay.

The rooftop gym was very nice with everything for a good cardio/strength workout.

The rooftop lounge was also great to hangout at.

We had a wonderful suite room with a kitchen/living area/bedroom.

Look forward to our next visit.

As of Apr 2023, The Residence Inn by Marriott next to the DC Convention Center felt brand new. The bed was great and the room was nice. The breakfast was excellent. The TV that rotated between bedroom & sitting room was a great twist. My only small quibble was that they only offered 1 King, not 2 Queens in a room.

Nice and clean rooms with room service on both days of our stay, which was pleasantly surprising. You don't get that unless you ask these days. Friendly staff that tended to all our requests. Were upgraded to a suite for one of the rooms on our reservation. Kitchen was super helpful as we are traveling with a 10 month old infant. I ordered multiple food and grocery deliveries to be left at the reception and never had an issue. Good job hotel management! You're doing a much better job than some others in the same class out there.

Honestly, I'd I could give more than 5 stars I would. Everyone was incredibly kind and made us feel like we were coming home. The breakfast was nice, but again the wonderful staff helped put it over the top! The valet was helpful and convenient. They let us pack our car and keep it garaged after our checkout so we could finish out our day again. The rooms were cozy and large. I felt like I got much more than what we paid for. Our family will definitely be staying here again!

Wonderful hotel and service. Stayed for a few nights while visiting and couldn't have been more pleased. Room was spacious and very clean, and we even had a view of the capitol dome being on the 12th floor near the end of the hall. Lots of TV and free movie choices for relaxing after a long day of touring the city. Rooftop lounge area and restaurant were very nice as well. Everyone was super friendly and attentive to our needs. Pricey valet parking, but that's expected in a big city.

I stayed here for my residency in DC and will say the Staff were amazing 👏🏽 shot out to Cory and Jahid that went over and above to ensure that things ran smoothly from the first night I was there until the last day of check out. All the front desk staff including the valet and security were friendly and nice. They were eager to help at all times.

The restaurant offered a nice continental breakfast every morning with a number of amazing alternatives such as oatmilk and egg whites just to name a few things.

I would like to thank all the cleaning Stagg for all they do and I will definitely be staying at Residence by Marriott I'm other cities.

Stayed here in October when I was at D.C. forca conference. Great proximity to the Walter E Washington convention center. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The gym was also very clean and had plenty of equipment. Breakfast was free and ok but what I expected for a hotel free type.

Modern, new looking, well designed business hotel just adjacent to the convention center. All of the staff is very friendly, nice, and efficient. Pillows are fluffy. Beds are comfortable. I had a satisfying stay to visit relatives for a few days at this hotel.

Rooftop access is very nice. The scenery on top is not exactly spectacular but it feels good to relax in the comfortable furniture and enjoy outdoor air on rooftop.

A lot of TV options in the room. Somehow casting from iphone doesn’t work. The website mentioned in the instructions doesn’t work. A technician tried to come to help but I think it is a website issue and not a hardware issue in the room.

Breakfast area is cozy and breakfast wait staff is highly courteous. However, the breakfast food variety and quality is not better than in lower end hotels though.

Service was great. Check in was quick and professional. Housekeeping was great as well.
Rooms were clean, kitchen looked great, and more than enough space. Bathrooms were moderns, clean, and spacious.

Highly recommended. Really enjoyed our stay here. Came to DC for the first time, and loved the convenient access to the green line metro. It made it very easy to navigate the city. The room was clean and plenty of space for just the two of us. Price is reasonable for a big city. Would recommend and definitely would stay again.

Great rooms in a good location. We stayed in a king bed suite with the pull out bed. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. It’s really nice to have the kitchen when traveling with kids. Not too far from the metro and circulator lines and convenient to walk to the national mall as well if necessary.

Loved the room! Very spacious
TV can swivel so you can watch from the bed, kitchen and couch.
Bathroom was beautiful with a rain showerhead and large bottles of shampoo/bodywash/conditioner set into the wall.
Kitchen came equipped with a microwave, induction stove, oven, dishwasher, food disposal, dishwashing soap, pots and pans, plates/mugs and utensils

Our couch was missing a cushion so we notified the front desk but it was not replaced. There was also a mishap with our itinerary but the front desk helped fix it pretty quickly.

Would stay again!

The hotel is also convenient to go to the national mall, the shopping strip, chinatown, and the amtrak station!
