Absolutely amazing! There is a huge variety of artists and mediums featured. I love, love, love all of the representation and female empowerment throughout the museum. The staff were super funny and nice too. Gorgeous building as a whole. Definitely visit!

Absolutely beautiful setting and works. The new space is just stunning. The collections are interesting and heart warming. Lots of sculpture and especially large works which I really enjoyed. A great variety of mediums. There is a short movie at the entrance on several of the artists whose work is being shown which I noticed at the end of my visit. Worth watching. The staff are cheerful and helpful. A wonderful way to spend a morning. I will definitely return. I left feeling much better than when I arrived. Highly recommend.

What a delightful museum, dedicated to showcasing the mark of women in the history of art, an often hidden footprint. The layout of the exhibits are simple and striking and the art exhibited is intricate and exquisite. One of the pay-for museums in the area but totally worth a visit.

The museum finally reopened after a 2 month renovation, and it is beautiful as always inside. People come dressed to impress for an elegant photoshoot in addition to admiring the art. Upon entering, there's a coat room, ticket booth, and gift shop.

I am very impressed with NMWA's commitment to accessibility. People with disabilities and their "personal care attendants" can get tickets for free at all times as can people under 21 years old. DC Residents and seniors get discounts. There is also free admission on the first Sunday and second Wednesday of every month. Free narrow based manual wheelchairs (without pads) are also available to use upon request. There are couches periodically throughout the museum (see pictures), especially near elevators, and in some galleries. The elevator door openings are pretty narrow, so I worry that certain wheelchairs may not fit, especially if they are wider than a standard manual chair. If you are using a wheelchair, you cannot get out at M, but would instead use MR.

You can learn about the artists on the first floor via video or reading the bio plaques if you walk straight after stopping at the ticket booth.

The art was incredible and took about 2 hours to appreciate at a leisurely pace. The Sky is the Limit was so different than anything I had seen in an art exhibit before and I really enjoyed seeing the pieces from all different perspectives. I can't wait for new exhibits to come out!

I really enjoyed visiting this museum. It's small enough to see in about 1-1.5, depending on your pace. Make sure to take elevator, otherwise you might miss Floor#4, which had some amazing art. This museum has great installations as well as some paintings. I loved how this museum recognizes women artists for a change 😊

This museum makes you stand up and cheer! To see art by women of every stripe in every medium is pure bliss. They practically had to throw us out at closing time. This experiece is one women of every age should have—and men! There is much to be gleaned and a library if you want to get into the nuts and bolts!

Was already a must-experience museum before the 2021-2023 renovation and is even moreso now. The permanent collection is vast and the ephemeral shows are always thought provoking and showcase massive talent. Great gift shop is always a plus.

Beautiful broad and engaging collection. Well worth the visit. With some on street parking.
Clean restrooms and smooth operating elevators make for a very accessible space.
Well worth prioritizing among DC Museums.

The NMWA opened in 1987 as the only museum in the world dedicated to women artists. It has now reopened after being closed for major renovations and it's fabulous. Old favorites are joined by works never seen before in a new setting. The current temporary exhibit, The Sky's the Limit, will only be on view until February and is worth a visit. Check for free days and special programs.

First time I visited since recent renovation. My friends and I enjoyed both the newly redesigned permanent collection galleries and the current exhibitions. The building itself is also gorgeous. Very doable in about two hours, though if you take advantage of the audio and other supplementary 8nfo you could spend much longer.

I've photographed a dozen weddings here over the years, and it's one of my all time favorite venues in Washington DC! the architecture is incredible, and the modern art on the top floor is a fantastic space for cocktail hour and some bonus creative photos. ig @iamthesam

We hosted our wedding reception here and It was absolutely gorgeous! The marble was cleaned and looked great with our setup. The facility was well maintained, and security was helpful. We could not think of a better place to have had our special night. The acoustics were even better than we would have thought. Plenty of space to dance as well! Additionally, it is a Unique quiet Museum in DC. Some very interesting art work, all done by women through history.

Amazing building! Lavishly decorated inside with exquisite chandeliers and pink marble. There is a quantitative lack of pieces, but that's understandable seeing as there are so few women artists. They have a wonderful exhibit there until February 10, 2019 featuring dresses from Rodarte. As a fashion buff, I am in love.

Really nice museum. The architecture was amazing with the marble staircases and all. The art work was also nice. The photographs were really cool. Especially the one of Lucille Ball.

I was fortunate to visit during a wonderful Judy Chicago exhibit (photos not allowed in that section). It's a joy to see women artists celebrated in this beautiful museum! In addition, the permanent collection is wonderful and new exhibits will make return visits interesting.

What a gem! Skip the lines at the Smithsonian and spend a few hours at this gorgeous museum. Come for the art, stay for the delicious irony that a former Masonic temple - where women were forbidden - is now home to THE women's art museum!
