Ivy and Coney

Great place to grab a dog and a beer before a ball game or to have more beers and stay for a while. The Monday and Tuesday specials are both great value along with the happy hour. The happy hour is actually just an hour but unlike other bars I wasn't given a hard time for ordering with 10 minutes left in happy hour.

We heard this was a Michigan themed bar and as a fellow Michigander I just couldn’t resist trying this place! I loved the vibes, and the pizza was AMAZING; heavy, warm and delicious crunch drenched in cheese with a ton of flavor. Definitely recommend this bar.

Great Midwestern atmosphere. Drinks are fairly affordable, particularly the shot+beer deals and this is my favorite bar in DC. Pizza and food is also very good and service is generally good.

Can get crowded on weekends, so be prepared.

Gotta admit that I come here mostly for the pizza! This is a wonderful spot in Shaw and most people I know have never even heard of it before. That’s a pity, because it’s a really great place! Although I’m obsessed with the Detroit-style pizza, I’ve also had the vegetarian Coney dogs and they are fantastic. After discovering this place, I’ve been back again and again! You should too!

The atmosphere is top notch. I can't think of a better spot to stand amongst Chicago Bears fans and drink a cold one while watching the Bears be da Bears. Bonus points for having Chicago style hotdogs to cure what "ales" me.

Love this place. $5 Malört/Old Style Chicago Handshake is amazing, Detroit Style pizza is very good, Italian beef is pretty good, fries are good. Sucks that it’s all the way in Shaw otherwise I’d be a regular. Ivy and Coney is a staple if you’re a Chicago/Michigan native in DC.

Great place, the hot dogs are a must. And if you like pizza with crispy pepperonis this place is for you. And grab a cocktail also they are amazing.

Lived the upper deck. Roof opens. Plenty of heaters for the up coming colder months. Decent enough selection of beers and whiskeys. Awesome deep dish pizza. Great staff.

Excellent food and service, but the back room doesn't have any air conditioning.

Best little bar in DC. Awesome bartenders, food and beer are both good and a fair price (seriously get the Chicago Dog and fried cheese curds) and they show pretty much all the local DC teams and big games you would want to watch. They also show women’s sports, which more and more bars do now but isn’t a given.

Can I have a shot of well whiskey, a beer, curly fries, a chili dog, and a pizza? Oh, and chicken wings. And a Malort chaser.

Came here during a college football game. Vibe is great and prices for drinks were decent. Pretty nice outdoor area ad well.

A beautiful dive bar with surprisingly good food. The place was grungy but the clientele weren't, a great combination. You could drink here all day at these beer prices

I was a little rude to the bartender for not having the Cubs game on in the upstairs room. To make up for it, here is five stars and a promise to tip that bartender well next time I'm in. Great Chicago bar.

Favorite bar in Shaw. Great pizza, wings, and a awesome spot to catch a game.

Awesome late night spot! Hip tiny hole in the wall bar, great for junk food cravings and cozy dates when a lot of other places are closed. Beware that they are cash only, but have an ATM right there.

The atmosphere was great, it’s a cute little place and Eduardo was amazing! Very helpful and attentive.
