The Grill on Third

We arrived just after they opened 4 pm, on a Friday evening. The host wanted to seat us at a two top in the middle of the restaurant in a high traffic area. I politely asked to be seated by a window for more light and the host obliged us. We started our meal with the mushroom caps stuffed with cheese, that was ooo so gooey and light for an appetizer. My wife ordered the beef tips with gravy and onions, accompanied by whipped potatoes. She loved the dish and I ordered the Friday/Saturday night only menu item Prime Rib medium, with Brussel sprouts as well as a loaded stuff potato on the side. We both enjoyed our main courses and service we received was excellent. We decided to have dessert which was the cats meow, consisting of the Huge piece of cheesecake and the crème brûlée, both were excellent. We would recommend any couple to try this place out when looking for a nice restaurant for a couple on a special occasion.

First time here. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. I had the beef tips with baked mac & cheese and truffle fries. Boyfriend had the salmon with brussel sprouts and truffle fries. For dessert we shared a crème brûlée. Very impressed by everything! The waitress was a sweetheart, atmosphere was top tier, and ALL food was delicious. I’m also currently 32 weeks pregnant and they were accommodating by making me a mocktail, which was so good! We will be returning.

Fantastic dining experience. The attention to detail in both food and service was commendable. The atmosphere is perfect for a cozy dinner or celebration. Ask for Gabby when you visit. She’s a delight.

This is my absolute fave place to eat! My friends and I go every Sunday after church for a family brunch. This place is definitely 5 stars all the way!

Excellent food, fast service, nice atmosphere (music but not too loud to have a conversation). Pricier than our usual but worth every penny. I highly recommend this place. Lobster ravioli with asparagus and shrimp alfredo were amazing. Our waiter Hunter did a great job.

I’ve been on a cross country road trip for a week and stopped in randomly for dinner on the last night of my trek. I had forgotten that it was Mother’s Day and I’m sure that the staff had a long and busy day but the crew working didn’t miss a beat. The bartender was fantastic from the moment I walked in. He was quick with the menu and a cocktail. Once I ordered, the courses came up quickly and were timed perfectly. The onion soup was top notch and the steak tips and asparagus were cooked perfectly. One of the servers was fun with banter while he was taking care of other guests. After my entree I decided on dessert and the young lady helping clean up the bar was super friendly and brought my crème brûlée out swiftly. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this place and you’re fortunate to have suck a great staff (I had some rather disappointing service at other restaurants on my trip). If I’m ever back through Huntington, I will definitely dine here again. Thank you for a great experience. Keep it up!

Man oh man!!! This place and our waiter (Hunter) was amazing! We had the cheese fondue for an app, the steak Diane and crème brûlée. Highly recommend for a date night, we can’t wait to try their brunch menu! Take yourself and your gal because yall won’t regret it!! Many thumbs up!!👍🏽

Wanted to update my review after eating here twice for brunch and once for dinner. Service is still absolutely top notch and the food is amazing. The first time I ate here I thought the burger needed a little extra seasoning, but was still very good. However, I’ve also had the Seafood Benedict and Prime Rib sandwich with Brussels sprouts which were both absolutely killer! I also don’t usually eat chocolate mousse, but decided to try it since the server said it was really good. That was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a VERY long time. I’ll definitely be returning every weekend after a long week of class and triathlon training!

I forgot to take pictures, but the food was overall just fantastic. Everything tasted fresh. The risotto was amazing, and I love being able to get it as a side! I had some purple carrots that were under done but the yellow and orange carrots were delicious, as was my salmon. The salmon and risotto together was pure heaven.
Two in our party got ribeyes and both said that while the taste was great the cuts of meat were not. They still ate them though. 😀 Going on a Sunday evening was a bit challenging due to the kitchen being out of several things, but we figured it out. My 11 year old daughter got the scallops with asparagus and cleaned her plate. Ended the meal with a creme brulee for the table, and it was creamy and smooth and wonderful.
Great place! We will be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for a special occasion , and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and excellent service.
The menu was a delight to browse, offering a wide variety of dishes. I ended up selecting the Filet with a side salad and baked potato topped with butter, sour cream, and cheese. My boyfriend had the ribeye with risotto and glazed carrots. Both were absolutely delicious. It was the best risotto we have ever had. We added an extra side of the truffle fries served with a side of garlic aioli. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a true delight. We also ordered the crème brûlée and it was amazing. The ambiance was just right, with soft lighting and comfortable seating and beautiful stained glass lamps.
Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Omg this is amazing, the food is delicious, I had the special, Chicken Roma was absolutely excellent!! and for the apps Stuffed Mushrooms and Prime Rib Sliders🤤🤤🤤🤤. The staff is great, our waiter was Kyle, very attentive, informative & friendly… the Chef came out and talked to us a bit.. just amazing all the way around… definitely come back again

I heard good things about this restaurant, so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. Everything was amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was beyond my expectation. I got the frech onion soup, ny strip with whipped potatoes and asparagus and all was amazing. My boy friend got the roasted tomatoes with chicken in and Alfredo sauce. He said his was okay but it was just missing something. But all in all, we will definitely be coming back.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to in the world! I've been around the world and ate wonderful food, but I've got to say this ranks as one of the tops. The only thing I was disappointed in, is that we were placed in a side room by ourselves. It felt kind of weird. But that should not distract from just truly delicious food being served and a wonderful server! Congratulations, this is in Huntington West Virginia guys! Bravo, Chapo❤

Great food and nice, relaxing atmosphere. We loved the soft misic and we could still talk and hear each orher. The staff was great and our waiter top notch-very knowledgeable! Took our employees for dinner and everyone loved it-said it was the best meal they ever had!

Sigmas of the 60s held a Reunion Dinner at Grill on Third during MU Homecoming Weekend. There was nothing but highest praise for the service and food. The party room was perfect for our party of 39. Thank you for helping to make our event truly memorable.

Beautiful restaurant! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Try the cheese fondue, for a yummy flashback from the 70s. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely return soon!

If you haven't been to The Grill on Third you need to treat yourself! My family and I were trying to decide where to go for a Father's Day lunch as we pulled into a parking lot on Third Ave intending to go to a different restaurant. But since my son had suggested we try someplace we'd never been I looked across the parking lot and saw "The Grill". We agreed to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. It looks a little fancy but the customers were all dressed differently, wearing everything from shorts and t-shirts to jackets and ties. I had their Seafood Benedict, my wife had the Filet Beef Hash and my son has the Chicken and Waffles. All of the food was absolutely terrific, but the thing we'll go back for is the excellent service. I can get good food many places in town, but good service is near impossible to find these days. And if I have to pay a little more for it, I will. Although The Grill isn't nearly as pricey as their top notch food and facility would lead you to expect. You should really make plans to visit this fine eatery, you won't be disappointed and it'll be a new favorite. I hope they're around for a very long time! They have lots of menu items I look forward to trying!

I can't remember the last time that me or my wife didn't need to have an additional steak sauce. I had the filet mignon was super tender with carrots and truffle fries. My wife had the NY strip, roasted Brussel sprouts, and baked macaroni. All the side were amazing. Service has awesome. We definitely will be going back.

Had a wonderful experience this evening! My husband and I were out for a rare date night, and we are so glad we decided to try The Grill on Third for the first time. Very laid back atmosphere but also very classy, the food is top notch and what you would expect from a place that is much more expensive and in a larger city. Our waiter was polite and checked in on us to see what we needed without making us feel rushed. The owner also checked in with guests to make sure everything was satisfactory, that is pretty rare nowadays. We were so pleased with our experience and meal this evening. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommended if you are going out for a date or celebrating a special occasion

We had an excellent meal here last night. Everything we had was very good - down to the compound cinnamon butter for the warm rolls. The stuffed mushrooms were out of this world as was the risotto. We are so glad we took a chance and found this great place.
