Walking in takes you back in time a little. Cozy atmosphere with lots to look at. Enter and met by someone who serves you the meat portion of your choice. Meat is sold by the pound so you get what you want. Brisket was tender and juicy, hotlink was full of flavor. Sides - beans were fantastic potatoes sald - great taste. I didn't get desert but it looked delicious. For the price you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

Tonight, we drove a little further from the rv park we are staying at. Just to try this barbecue food. I would have to say it was well worth the drive. It was truly delicious. It was pay by the pound so we got enough for 3 meals. Thank ya'll.

Some of the best BBQ in Midland, Texas with a nice assortment of smoked sausages, chicken, turkey, pork ribs and brisket. They serve up tender thick sliced brisket with perfectly seasoned bark. The ribs fall off the bone and the sausages are juicy. The atmosphere is fun. If you're only going to do BBQ once in Midland, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.

I was lucky to drive by this place for work on the road. Came back to it and was not disappointed. Interesting way you come in get your food cut it up or to go can you pick up some soda and vittles on the side. Decided to get some pulled pork sandwiches and a little bit of brisket and links eight time took some with me. I was very impressed with this barbecue place been around for 25 years. Found out it was also before a ice box store and a grain feed plus it sold fireplaces I believe. Thing that caught my attention was that big old windmill hanging up over the biggest room. On and run by a local family and love all the old timey decorations. It's barbecue and it's going to be somewhat pricey but hey you'll pay anything for good tasty food. If you drive by hangry just the place to get your grub on and get your toes twinkling lol.

Wow! Very good spot! The meat is smoked perfectly and just falls apart. The sides were delicious. That dessert just hometown cooking good! Definitely pricey but very much worth it! 🤤👌🏾

Food was soo good melted in my mouth moist. The service was happy and cheery showed me how to navigate through the line quick it was busy. The staff made sure I w was well taken care of I'll definitely be back ribs were good and I love the sausages or brats the pork chop was like a pork cotton candy just fell of the bone and melted in my mouth. They also had smoked turkey and brisket but I like what I like.

This is a tricky review for me because there are so many layers.

I was finally able to try the Midland legendary BBQ joint- KD’s

Let’s start with the location and overall atmosphere of the restaurant. KDs is not very conveniently located off of I-20 and Garden city Hwy. I mean, it’s not like it is an hour from midland but rather you will need to contend with oilfield traffic at a really busy intersection. But this isn’t a big deal for me. Their building is old…. But COOOL. I loved their interior and decorations. It screams BBQ!

When you enter you walk up a ramp to the meat Lady. She tells you the prices as you are staring at a schmorgisboard of perfectly smoked meats. HOLY MOoooLY. I went with brisket and two ribs. The next step is you go to a weighing machine as a different nice lady weighs it for you. Then you move down the line for the beans and slaw and to pay.

After paying and finding a seat they have a nice little sauce bar stocked with 4 really good flavors of bbq sauce and extras like pickles, peppers, and bread.

Lets get to the meat of the matter…. The MEAT. It was fabulous. The brisket was cut with my fork. It had a nice bark on it and very very juicy. The rib wasn’t fall off the bone tender but tender nonetheless. It had a nice subtle flavoring.

Definitely some of the best bbq I’ve had in Texas.

Now for the only thing that may be a sticking point to folks. The price. This probably is a little too rich of a place for most of us to go once a week. I spent 40 dollars before tip. Granted I had a lot of food. But I would say to estimate 25-50 dollars a person when you go. Remember how I said the meat lady was telling prices as I was staring at the meat? Pay attention to her words!! Haha.

Brisket for the friggin win.

That was the best brisket I have had in a long time. It was moist and flavorful. Also had the turkey and it was amazing.

First time here and I’ll definitely be back! Food was good but it was the service and cleanliness that I would drive to the other side of town for!

Pretty tasty local barbeque. You select your meat right off the pit. That does smell great! I've had the brisket and ham. That ham is hard to beat! Don't forget your little cup of Blue Bell for dessert. 🤤

I forgot to mention that they give a military discount and that is worthy of a full 5 stars! Thank you for doing that. I appreciate it.

Great meal had the build your own brisket baked potato with beans and coleslaw.

Definitely will stop in again! Little pricey but in the end most definitely worth it. Ribs and brisket were amazing. The little BBQ sausage slices were awful. That's my only complaint. Lol. Clean restrooms! Great polite staff. Entry is a little confusing but once ya figure it out it makes sense. 😂😂😂

Being from MN, this place was a great experience for me! The atmosphere is one of a kind, the food was good (of course the flavor was different to me being from the north), and the price was great for REAL food. I will bring the rest of the family there when we visit this winter.

Definitely an awesome place to grab some bbq to go or eat inside and enjoy everything they have to offer and i was overwhelmed and excited for everything here and definitely will be back to try something different as the have to many options to choose from.

Old school Big Texas BBQ- The way it should be! Exceptional food. Great selection of meats and sides to choose from. Awesome wait staff! My Sweet Tea never reached half empty. This is an establishment that fulfills a hearty appetite. Hands down one of the top Texan BBQ joints I've eaten at. Two thumbs up👍👍!

Purchase by the pound, ribs and sausage were really good. Beans free but everything else is a la cart.
The location is an old feed store or something similar and has lots to look at. Great experience from the food to the atmosphere.

My god, this place is THEE BEST BBQ I have ever had and it's not even close! Their brisket is insane! Came from Minnesota on a work trip and was looking for a place to get som great Texas BBQ. Did not disappoint. Friendly staff. Cool Texas history decor. Will definitely be coming back when I am in the area.

Delicious BBQ. Sausage. Brisket. Ribs. Only open Tuesday thru Saturday I think. No rolls. They have ice cream.

Best BBQ in West Texas! 10 out of 10! Service was top notch. The layout and decor inside was on a whole other level.
