Madie Carroll House and Historic Marker

My first trip and I loved it! They have went above and beyond to preserve the history of our area and tell the story of this brave woman.

This House's story is super Neat!!! Said they moved it by the Ohio River. To me that's pretty cool since it was back in the day and everything was even harder before all this technology came around

It's always such a pleasure coming here and seeing and helping with the history of the land. Fantastic people help keep this place running and preserved. Definitely a must see location.

The members giving tours share loads of history about Guyandotte and the family who lived in this house since before the Civil War.

Nice little place to visit and learn some local history. You can go inside the house but have to call to schedule a visit. They have alot of historical artifacts inside. They claim that the house is haunted and you can hear Mary Caroll rocking in her rocking chair on the back porch.

Amazing piece of local history!

A lot of interesting history here at this old house that was built over 200 years ago in Ohio then floated down to Guyandotte where it stands today.

Great Place to visit.

The folks who run this really know their stuff. Plan on at least an hour.
