City Tap House Penn Quarter

I stopped by with friends and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere of the place. Great selection of beers, I had some extremely yummy prawns, my mates were all very pleased with their choices. The waitress was very kind and helpful. Definitely would recommend!

Stopped by for a quick bite of lunch, bar keep was fantastic, you can’t miss her bright red hair. Friendly, kind, polite are just a few words I can use for her service. Atmosphere was pleasant not too loud but enough ambient noise you did feel you had to whisper. The on Tap Root Beer was fantastic paired with the four fathers pizza.

Stopped at City Tap House as I was walking the area. Enjoyed the City Tap Prime Burger (see pic) for lunch.
Staff was very upbeat and friendly, decor was relaxed and chill, and is was a pleasant casual restaurant dining experience.
Would stop in when I'm in the area again to try more of the items on their menu.

We stopped by for a bite to eat, and we really enjoyed the food. My wife got the tacos, and she loves it.

Visited on a summer Thursday with the family. Food was yummy, kids ordered chicken and fries from kids menu and we had the chicken and waffles (Nashville Hot) and it was a delight!! Music was nice, my kids were actually bopping their heads to the music!

Came back again! The food and service was so good that on my second trip to Washington I came back here. Once again I was impressed by how good the food and service was overall. The staff was catering and enthusiastic to us. Someone in my party had a food allergy and our server was knowledgeable and conscientious. Atmosphere was fun, clean and organized. Drinks were great. Will be coming back the next time I am in Washington DC. Thank you so much :)

We came in late in the night around 10:30pm after not being able to find any available or open restaurants on a Friday night and we were able to be seated right away! We are so glad we found this place. The music was great & we had fast service. I ordered the Caesar salad with added avocado. The crostini with it was such good addition and the salad was honestly perfect. It was so delicious, it was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had. I could eat that all the time lol. The only thing I didn’t like was the added cost of the avocado was $2 and they gave us maybe 1/8th of an avocado but other than that it was great. We also shared a dessert, we had the skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing! The prices were great as well and very affordable. I would highly recommend it here!

This place is a lot of fun. I just experienced them playing a game at the bar where the winner took home a grill. Poor guy had to break it down into a few pieces to fit it in.

I really wanted a burger after my long walk around the city. This place delivers the burger well made and fries with my mustard as requested. The burger was made medium rare just like how I like it. the bun isn't too saggy but can use some work. I wish there were more fries with the burger but it's better for my waist line.

There are about 20 beer on the tap. I get to try four before I decided. I wish I can remember which one I had but that is okie. The advise is to try as many as you like before you settle. The bartender has a good sense of what you might like if you tell them a popular brand.

The place is huge. Tons of space on a weekend afternoon and you might win a grill.

BEST NACHOS & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Yall im not even kidding. I ordered the 10 pc wings and pork pulled nachos along with some beers. We finished all the nachos even the smalll beans😅 beers were also really good and they let you try small sample

The company I work for used this place for a happy hour event after work. The staff was young but they were so professional. I was impressed. All the food was awesome. Place was packed but even with that we didn't feel cramped. Great atmosphere. 👍

Good soundtrack, great selection of beers. Staff will leave you alone if you want.

The City Tap House is an excellent choice for a dinner! The host was exceptionally attentive and polite- he would assist each guest walking in and keep an eye on the tables. The pizza and wings really hit a craving for the combination. The wings are not breaded but have a tasty dry rub of various spices that are mild. Try them with a dip of ranch and blue cheese ! As for the pizza, the Four Fathers features a meat lover's special- from pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon to a balance of tomato and onion.

In terms of drinks, the honeysuckle mule is a dangerous delight! It's a delicious drink that could leave you tempted for another glass.

Overall, I highly recommend the City Tap House! With great hospitality and food!

Loved it. Fun atmosphere, food was really good. My only complaint is that the Brussels were a bit too salty for my taste, but still very good. Service wasn't excellent, but it was happy hour and they were busy. Yes, it's pricey, but dude, it's DC. We had several beer flights, ahi tuna (better without the herbs as they overpowered it), street corn dip, pretzels and cheese, and 5 spice wings. Everyone left happy, other than my wallet.

What an amazing place! Met a friend there and decided to do the brunch that they offered on MLK day (Jan. 20) We asked for suggestions and our lovely waitress said the breakfast tacos, shrimp and grits and the steak Benedict. All of the food was delicious; except the steak was very tough. However, the highlight of the meal was the Shrimp and Grits! The grits were creamy, the shrimp cooked to perfection and the greens that accompanied the dish was like someones grandmother was in the kitchen cooking Sunday dinner. Come for the ambiance, eat the Shrimp and Grits and if you have a chance, meet Ron. The general/district manager who came over, chatted and even poured our cranberry mimosas. Such a delightful place and amazing food!

The waitress was a sweetheart. The rosemary herb potato fries are the best and the fried wings were so flavorful you don't need dipping sauce. I'll be going back to try some other food items

The food and drinks here are both delicious and fairly priced. The atmosphere is perfect and the service is OUTSTANDING. Our server, Ray, is the absolute best and we literally came here two days in a row for her service, and the entire staff is very attentive and friendly! Can't recommend enough!!

The food was very good. The service was fast and our waiter was amazing! At the time it was very busy but the staff was able to keep up and get us seated quickly! Keep up the good work. 👍

So pleased to find alfresco dining on a quiet street on a beautiful evening in D.C. It feels like an oasis of calm in this urban setting. The prosciutto and fig pizza is delicious and the crispy shrimp taco special did not disappoint! Just watched the staff assist a handicapped patron get comfortably settled in his seat. We enjoyed great service. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Our family of 14 (ages 2-76) really enjoyed our meal at City Tap House. There was something for everyone and then some on the menu. The staff was very kind from the moment of setting up our reservation, to the point of us leaving the restaurant with smiles and waves. The atmosphere was casual yet clean and inviting. Thank you for such a great experience!

We had a great time at City Tap House tonight. From the chill vibe, awesome food, and the best service from Isaac, we have nothing but great things to say about this place. If you are out and about in DC, it needs to be on your list!
