The Dignitary

Good ambiance, prompt service. Wide selection of whiskeys, bourbons and scotchs. Had a Japanese whiskey that I have been craving for a while.

I love hotel bars because a good hotel bar is a great place to people watch and spend an evening.

The dignitary is a great hotel bar. The bartender was awesome and incredibly helpful with scotch recommendations and explanations

My server was amazing and there was a great atmosphere. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. I got the turkey BLT and it was amazing. The desserts were good. Would love to go back :)

I wouldn't expect such a good bar in a hotel, even an upscale Marriott. The place was clean and stylish, had a great atmosphere, and friendly staff. They have an impressive selection of whiskey and made a solid (and generously-poured) Manhattan.

A very elegant place. The atmosphere is very pleasant. You can have a nice conversation while enjoying the drinks. I love the whiskey listing.

I am a Washington resident and this bar is like my local bar too. You can meet people from around the country who are in DC for business. The service is very good and special Saba was always smiling and welcoming guests to the bar.

This is a super classy looking bar located in the Marriott Marquis. We had just come from a convention nearby and were not quite dressed the part, but the service was still excellent. The charcuterie board was delicious, and they have a great selection of drinks available. I'm usually a little wary of hotel bars and restaurants but this one did not disappoint.

Intimate cozy spot. It's well appointed and the drinks are amazing. I recommend Smoke off the Barrel!

Cosy bar that's perfect for a meet-up with friends. Variety of seating options, including bar seats, tables and couches. They also have a fireplace. Friendly bartenders and servers, and they make stiff drinks. Decent whisky selection, including some from India (!)

What a great bar with several hundred bourbons / ryes / scotches ready to pour. Nice atmosphere and, best of all, the brands I am familiar with were reasonably price for being attached to a hotel in the middle of DC.

After the last google city experts event, my roommate, a friend and I decided to check out the new Marriott hotel. The hotel lobby is beautiful! We then decided to have cocktails at The Dignitary. The prices are typical DC prices. The atmosphere was very warm and rustic. I can see us coming back after work and late night drinks! It does attract more people on business travel. I travel a lot and wish hotel bars were as swanky as The Dignitary.

Awesome bar to pass the time while your kids are playing in tournaments at the convention center. Whiskey and Bourbon selection is great. The two gentlemen bartenders are awesome.

Wonderful burbon selection. Especially due to the fact that some of these labels are almost altogether unavailable to the private buyer. Pair that with EXPERT knowledge of every selection and it makes for something special. Its not about the food and its not about buying a domestic beer. There are plenty of places for that (its there however, for the casual stumble in that didnt intend to go to a top flight wiskey bar). It does what its supposed to at a very high level.

Service was good. Try the 24 hr pork belly. It was amazing.

Great place for a drink in a relaxed classic atmosphere. Peter and Tom at the bar know their Scotch and introduced me to some Islay single-malts I'd never had the chance to try. I will be going back when I am in D.C. again.

Whiskey list is incredible. Food Menu is limited but the whiskey and the service is excellent.

Extensive Bourbon lineup. Peter is truly skilled in craft cocktails and the nuances of his spirit offerings. Sit at the bar for great conversation and delicious nibbles.

While I usually would not like to visit a bar attached to a hotel, the Dignitary was a nice surprise. My group enjoyed some excellent whiskey flights in the relaxed and uncrowded environment.

Great hotel bar that's a cut above the rest! Seemed to have hundreds of different Bourbons, Scotches and other rare libations and liquors.
