Really enjoyed the museum because of it’s informative displays and making people aware of Justice and equality that affect Jews. I wish it had a little more information about some of our lesser known holidays such as Purim, Tu Bishvat and a little more about our traditions.
I thought it was a great little museum and looking forward to coming back again.

An important museum showcasing the rich history of Jewish life and culture in the Washington DC area. There was also the Ruth Bader Ginsburg exhibit which was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

This is a relatively new museum so it was very quiet but my father and I had such a lovely time. There were a number of interactive elements in the main exhibit and it's for sure a place for all ages.

I went for the RBG special exhibit and it was pretty great. She was a fierce defender of civil rights. They had one of her robes and collar on display. Plus there was a selfie area where you could don a robe and collar. In the main exhibit there were interactive cubes about famous Jewish Washingtonians that I enjoyed flipping the cubes and relating to. It's a small museum and I wish there was more to see. The security and front desk staff were outgoing and helpful at every level.

Compelling and engaging new addition to DC's museum landscape. Nice mix of timeline histories, prompts for personal reflection, incorporation of current events, and highlights of people & Jewish culture of DC; and really the whole capital region.

The recently reopened Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., offers a captivating and immersive experience that showcases the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Jewish community in the nation's capital. As a visitor to this newly revamped museum, I was thoroughly impressed with the exhibits and the museum's commitment to telling the compelling stories of the Jewish people here in the DMV.

The Capital Jewish Museum has successfully created an engaging and informative experience for visitors. The museum's exhibits are thoughtfully curated, weaving together personal narratives, historical artifacts, and interactive elements to create a comprehensive and impactful journey through time. Most impressive were the pews from the original Adas Synagogue 1876 and the building.

One of the museum's standout features is its dedication to inclusivity and diversity. The exhibits go beyond the traditional narrative of Jewish history and explore the intersections between Jewish culture and other communities. This approach allows visitors to gain a broader understanding of the Jewish experience and appreciate the interconnectedness of different cultures in shaping our shared history.

The museum's emphasis on interactive and multimedia experiences adds an extra layer of engagement. From interactive displays that encourage visitors to explore Jewish traditions and customs to immersive audiovisual presentations that bring historical moments to life, the museum utilizes technology effectively to create a dynamic and memorable visit.

The architecture and design of the museum itself are noteworthy. The renovated building seamlessly blends the historic elements of the original structure with modern aesthetics.

The museum staff deserves commendation for their knowledge, enthusiasm, and willingness to engage with visitors. I chatted with the front desk about the history of the building and benefits of a reciprocal membership.

One aspect that could be improved is the availability of parking. Like many other museums in Washington, D.C., finding parking near the Capital Jewish Museum can be a challenge.

In conclusion, the recently reopened Capital Jewish Museum is an exceptional addition to the cultural landscape of Washington, D.C. Its immersive exhibits, commitment to inclusivity, and engaging storytelling make it a must-visit destination for both the Jewish community and anyone interested in learning about the diverse tapestry of American history.

An amazing feat of of building and architecture. A historic synagogue was actually unearthed and transported from 6th ST and attached to the modern section.
I really enjoyed the RBG exhibit, I learned so much about a fascinating person!

Wonderful small museum with so much info/so many artifacts from 300+ years of Jewish living in the Washington DC area. Not afraid to discuss touchy topics like Jews owning slaves. As a native Washingtonian growing up in the 50s and 60s, it brought back a lot of memories.

I decided to check out this museum to learn more about the history of the Jewish community in Washington DC. The walk through history on the first floor and then the movie in the old Adas sanctuary we very informative, but not at all moving.
The one critique I have on this museum is that it fails to chronicle the complete displacement of many synagogues from their homes in DC and the flight to Montgomery And Fairfax counties in the 1970s. To fail to tell the story of the resilience of the Jewish people to stand strong in the face of adversity is to never tell the story at all.

Well-organized museum with lots of opportunities for interactive engagement with the content. It's small, but they squeeze a lot in.

This museum is currently under construction. The first synagogue of Washington DC is now located where the museum is. Not all the tourist information on Washington attractions show the synagogue as closed.
