This really is just such a wonderful park. It’s got various types of habitat: meadow/prairie, woods, low wetlands, and of course the river. There are so many different kinds of critters in all of these. This park is probably the best birdwatching spot in Genesee County! It’s an amazing spot to see bluebirds, tree swallows, goldfinches, woodpeckers, yellow warblers, kingfishers, orioles, herons, and so, so much more. I sure do hope the management continues to maintain the natural habitat and does nothing to disturb the resident wildlife. The prairie, especially. Many songbirds and burrowing rodents depend on this park. And I encourage park goers to stay on the trails and not trample and damage sensitive flora in the park. Cars to drive especially slowly and carefully down to the kayak launch. This park is a gem and one of the very finest spots along the Flint River. There is a fair amount of littering along the banks of the river which I encourage the management to do better about preventing. Littering is such a pathetic and rotten thing to do, it angers me to no end to see beer cans along the river. Overall though this is a delightful place to walk and to see the seasons change. I love coming here after a fresh snow fall. Couldn’t recommend coming here more as long as you are respectful to the park and to the animals who live in it.

If you are more of a nature minded person and love walking down winding trails in the woods. There are quite a few smaller trails, and of course the wildlife is amazing. It's a cool experience that is closby. The observation deck is pretty cool too.

Beautiful trail along the Flint River. Great place for a short hike or picnic with the family. There's also a canoe launch, playground, pavilion, and bathrooms.

Beautiful park and nature trail. The kids had a cross country meet here and it went well. Covered area for meeting and eating. Playground for children. Beautiful landscape during the fall season. During summer, make sure to bring your bug spray. The mosquitoes are relentless!!

Had both my kids first birthdays at the pavilion. Renting the pavilion costs $50 I think. Lot's of trails to walk, a boat launch and some other good stuff. A small playground with swings and a seesaw. Saw a pair of Bald Eagles fighting over a fish once. Couple good places to fish as well if you don't mind Doo Doo Fish from the Flint River.

Nice little park. Short main trail, but a nice quick walk. Especially if you're not looking to be stuck in a trail for 2 hours.

Needs some taking care of but overall a great nature walk. We used it for the boat launch. Easy access.

Lovely little park. We were able to walk 2.75 miles on groomed trails — steps on hills and even paint marking the roots that could trip someone! There’s a pavilion, a playground, canoe launch and real toilets with soap and paper. I’m really impressed with the maintenance. We even ran into a team from U of M Flint, checking on water quality and invasive species, such as rusty crayfish. A good place to spend a couple of hours.

This is a fairly large [~2-3mi of trails?], well kept nature trail with great views of the river and challenging enough trails to keep you interested. It has a lookout point, new canoe/kayak launch, small playground area, pavilion, clean restrooms, bird watching patio, beautiful flora & fauna, educational markers, and great river front boardwalk. We make the trip many times a year with our kids to walk this nature preserve. We rarely see others there, so being crowded has never been an issue.
