Taiyou Shabu & Sushi

This place filled the spot like no other.. Fantastic service, generous amount of food for short money. Everything from the sushi to hot pot was perfect. Go when you are really hungry and do the buffet. I thought I lost my skills then my stomach did something to complete redeem itself. Wow a powerhouse in the food game. 😍

In my opinion this place has been under reviewed. Perhaps it does not show up if you search “hot pot” in Quincy since the restaurant name does not reflect it. “Shabu” is familiar but not to many others. Anyhow, we discovered this place about two months ago. Our regular spot has been in renovation. This place is small, cozy. Clean, already have the utensils I need to dig in. We visited twice already and the service is as good as the first one. They do follow safety precautions like putting a used pen to a dirty bin. The folder for checks are also being sprayed & wiped. I notice these things because I work in a healthcare industry so I appreciate them taking their time doing this.

$28 something for dinner - eat all you can , hot pot and sushi. Portions are decent.

Bathroom is clean. Place is organized. The staff is friendly. I’d come back here for a budget price.

The best hotpot in town! I've been coming here for about a year and have loved it every time! The sushi is amazing and fresh and the hotpot is even better. I highly recommend checking Taiyou out if you are a fan of hotpot.

They are my go to delivery place in the area since they are on Grubhub. Really good sushi for really reasonable prices, which is hard to find to find these days! Solid lunch specials and dinner specials. I have only experienced good service over the phone. They will call to double check change requests which is really nice.

Everything was delicious! The sushi and the amazing hot pot option. All you can eat for $40 with a drink. Amazing deal. And service was awesome!!

Good experience and staff was helpful with recommendations. I will say the service was a little odd, they counter the money in front of us which was weird, but I didn’t mind.

A go-to hot pot spot. The Szechuan sauce is really tasty and we always get the rib eye. Can't beat the AYCE price!

Overall excellence experience. All of the sushi we ordered was fresh and delicious. Hot pot was so good. The meat was fresh and sliced perfectly. All of the vegetables were fresh as well. Best spring rolls that I’ve had in a long time. Servers were very nice and fun to interact with. I will most definitely visit this gem next time I’m in the area.

On our first visit my wife had the lunch special bento box, which included miso soup, some tempura veggies and steamed dumplings. I tried the shabu beef and pork combo with kimchi flavored broth. Both were outstanding: fresh, flavorful and plentiful portion size. The service was friendly and attentive, including some hints on how to approach the shabu properly. The bill came to just over $30, which we considered a real bargain. Highly recommended.

I see a lot of 1-star reviews for this place, but I've always thought this place is absolutely incredible for what it is. You pay one price for all you can EAT, not for all you can ORDER. If you look at it from the perspective of a restaurant trying to minimize food waste, you will understand why they do what they do. Lots and lots of food waste usually goes on in AYCE places, so this place is just doing everything they can to make sure nothing is wasted. If you are modest with the quantity you order and actually finish what you order, this place 100% won't give you any troubles.

Daryl and I love eating Sushi, it's our thing. Found this place the first night out of the hospital. Had 3 rolls, they have hot pot as well. Cute girl with family of the restaurant was learning Spanish, she said Hola, so I said Hola and waved, they laughed.

For our meal, we had spicy seafood salad followed the rising sun sushi 🍣.. wow so good..

First time in this restaurant. The atmosphere vibe was great. Friendly staffs and food is great. Reasonable prices. My wife and I loved their soft crabs. I would recommended everyone to check it out this restaurant for themselves.

This place is AMAZING. Great family feel. The wait staff is fast and courteous. I drive a good distance to go to this place becuz it's so great!

Taiyou Shabu & Sushi is a great find in the local Quincy area. It has fresh and delicious sushi, they have a great deal on their all you can eat hot pot, varieties of proteins and options. The staff is very attentive, very nice place. Love to visit again soon

I had a great experience at that location. I’ve been there twice and on my second visit the waitress remembered me and my party. The customer service is on point!!! She remembered the utensils we asked for last time and brought it to us without us having to ask. I think her name is Jean (she had short black hair). She was very nice and attentive and I will definitely be coming back for more hotpot!!!

Always have great experiences here! Food is good for the price, we always do all you can eat hot pot and sushi. Waitresses are always very good to us. Also good vegetarian options

I’ve kept an open mind trying this place for the first time today. This place is amazing!!!!! I am not understanding why people are giving bad reviews.

There was one waitress and a host with cooks all around. They were friendly and inviting.

I didn’t have a problem with language barriers. I would have pointed to the menu if it were an issue because it is also translated on the menu. However, my waitress spoke fluent English. I find it sad when people don’t leave proper tip because it might get shared with the rest of the staff depending on the business. Have class; Just don’t go back.

Great and fresh ingredients including the fish for sushi!!! I’ve uploaded some pictures of the menu and my sushi lunch. I will come again!
