Sparta Classic Diner

Loved this diner from the first step through the door. Staff were all friendly and attentive to all their guests.
Food came out fairly quickly and was delicious! The dessert case had some incredible looking cakes, and some seasonal desserts as well!

Highly recommend

Ok food was great. Janelys was a nice waitress. She kept coming up to us asking how our meal was.

I happened to be in Sparta for the day and saw a billboard with some exquisite looking milkshakes on my way there so I had to go. We were a larger party of 10. The menu has a large selection as diners usually do and everyone got something different. The only thing that was left over to take home was Mac and cheese from the kids menu (I think they used a whole box for one serving 🤣). Everyone enjoyed their meals and of course we had to get some milkshakes for after and they did not disappoint!! Absolutely recommend! Service was excellent and the staff were all so friendly. Great atmosphere!

Would go again - This diner is a gem in a quiet neighborhood in comparison to suburbs closer to NYC. Sparta is a very relaxing town and Lake Mohawk near this diner is such a good R&R place to visit. In addition, you have this diner that has many menu items fit for foodies.

My friend and I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese, southwest chicken sandwich, and BBQ burger. Gosh...all 3 of these foods were delicious! They have so many other unique foods and their milkshake looks insane...given the amount of food we ordered, we had to skip it. The buffalo Mac and cheese was some of the best I ever had. Creamy but cheesy and it did not get dried up as most mac and cheeses do.

Interior is very clean for a diner. It has a old school but modern vibe to it. Parking lot has ample spots. Visit Lake Mohawk after a good meal at this diner.

First time there. Food was great. We'll be back.

The place, especially since their fire a couple years ago, is wonderful. I had breakfast for 6 on Thursday after the Lake Mohawk Turkey Trot. Everyone agreed. It is better than ever. Our waitress was great with my grandkids. All 6 dishes were so good, we ordered a French toast special for dessert to split!!!

let me tell you, we found a very good dinner, the service was excellent food was delicious and the restaurant itself was very clean ,I will recommend to any families ,we went there this past Saturday it was 13 of us, 7 adults 6 kids

Ordered take out. The burger was cooked perfectly. The curly fries were delicious. The takeout containers have holes so the food is ventilated and not soggy by the time you get home. The staff was super helpful & quick to get my order out.

- I came here for dinner. Kendall served me, and she was very kind, really attentive, and caring. She came over pretty quick after I sat down. We had a conversation about our work life, and I felt like she went out of her way to offer me things to make my work day easier, like a cup of ice water for the road. That was very nice of her!! The food was delicious as always, and came out within 10 minutes!!

I also always have a great conversation with Moe too, one of the hostesses every time I come in to eat. She always greets me with a friendly smile and a wave!! She very friendly and polite, same with everyone else here too!! Thank you Kendall!! Thank you Moe!! Thank you Sparta Diner as always!! ❤🙏

- I came here for lunch. The atmosphere was still great as it's always has been!! Jessica S. served me, and she was very polite and very attentive. She came over as soon as I sat down, and took my order. My food was ready within 10 minutes, and was delicious as always. I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, which is my favorite item on their menu. She also was able to give me my check before my food came out. I also was able to pay at the counter right away. - I came in for dinner. Same great atmosphere!! John served me, he was incredibly polite, and very welcoming!! The Pulled Pork Sandwich was delicious!! He came over to take my order in under a minute of me sitting down, and the food came out in about 5-10 minutes. - I had a great lunch with the same great atmosphere. Adriana served me, and she was very attentive, very polite, and very quick. First time trying their food and it was so good !! Deff coming back ! Very comfy place to come to ! My server was Kim ! She was fantastic and very friendly !! She was honestly the best server I ever had ! She was very understanding since it was our first time visiting so we took a little long to look at menu ! Please come and try their food you won’t regret it !

Their matzo ball soup is the best but all their food is delicious! All of the waitress' and hosts are so kind. This place is definitely a must especially with their milkshakes, to die for!

The diner was clean. The environment was relaxing. The food was amazing. The portion size was large. They didn’t take long to serve the food. I went at 10am so parking was not an issue. I love the overall service. Will definitely return. Thank you Alexis H.!

I ordered a selection of wraps, potato salad, pasta salad and chicken tenders with fries for a baby shower this past weekend and the food was awesome!! Fresh and great quality!! They packed all of the necessary condiments as well. They were also great and so easy to work with and everything was ready when it was needed!! Definitely highly recommend for your next event!!

The food is consistently good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive while offering us some great suggestions.

Prices are a little high but the food is very good. We’ve never had a bad meal there and often get delivery.

The diner just reopened. We are new to the Sparta community and LOVE going to the diner for Sunday breakfast. Initially we had to drive to Jefferson but now we can get great breakfast in 5 min! Food is yummy, place is nicely updated and staff is great!

Stopped here in the way home from skiing. It s your typical town diner but renovated inside to look more modern. Food was made well but service was a little slow. I would be back if I'm in the area.
