Marcella's Doughnuts and Bakery

Please don't listen to the 1 star reviews. Give Marcella's a chance. I have gone here a lot and have never had an issue. Always a new donut to try and the quality is top notch. You do spend more money here, but the extra money is worth it. This is a great place for a once in a while treat. Give them a go!

Amelia is the best of the three locations! They truly never miss. Their doughnuts are always delicious and will blow you away! My favorite is the cronut. I was weary about it at first, but the lady working told me that I HAD to try it and I am so glad I did. It’s the best thing I have ever tasted! The people who work there are always so nice, helpful, and knowledgeable about their doughnuts and fan favs. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Awesome bakery. Open early and very convenient to stop by before work and grab a few dozen of donuts for everyone at the office! The donuts are delicious and so big it’s more than a dessert. The variety is plentiful.

First time at this bakery. The young man with the glasses that greeted us and rang us up was so nice and professional. He seemed so proud of this establishment and told us a little bit about the history of the building.

Very clean, and the donuts were beautifully displayed, and it smelled heavenly the moment we walked in the door.

We will definitely be back and I can’t wait to have my first donut in the morning. The suspense is killing me!

The staff is amazing. The prices are phenomenal, especially for the huge, fancy, unique donuts you get. They have so many crazy amazing donuts that are not available anywhere else. My favorite is a couple of their "girl scout" cookie flavored, buckeye, and their filled to the brim donuts. Check them out before you go to any other donut shops around. The big donut chains better watch out! These people love their job and you know it after eating only 1 bite. Nice to see people that still love what they do. That's hard to find these days. It shows from the way they greet you, the customer service, the personal touches to decorating the donuts, to the repeat customers they know by name!! Who can pass up one of the best yummy - delicious - amazing - beautiful donuts that are clearly made with love. They even painted rocks to look like donuts, who doesn't love donut decorated rocks?! 😊 Thanks Marcella's!! We love your love for making amazing donuts.

We got a mixed box and couldn't resist and had some on the drive home... Now I need to make a return trip for hot fresh cronut.

Look, people take donuts pretty seriously... And a review like 'best donuts ever' can easily land you in a fight

And I'm not ready to get in that fight

But if you take donuts seriously, you'll appreciate that these guys take donuts seriously too... It's worth the trip

I will never go anywhere else to get donuts. I’ve lived in the area my entire life and my only regret is waiting to try this place out, so happy I finally did.

We've actually gotten spoiled at this location. It used to be that you had to be here early to get cronuts, or you were out of luck. I've gone in as late as 10 recently and there was still a great selection.
Keep one thing in mind: Marcella's kills the donught game; but make it a stop instead of a destination. It's bare bones inside and meant to facilitate a line. Nowhere to sit, coolers of drinks, coffee in urns, etc.
TLDR: Stop in for cronuts and a smile. Earlier is better. There are other locations as well.

The place is clean. 'Great SELECTION at 6:30PM!!!! 'Had to run 2 dozen donuts to the Hospital downtown Cincy, to the unit where my daughter works nights. 'Hospital Staff (truly dedicated) really appreciated the treats!! We will do this again! We are grateful for THIS Marcella's early-evening hours, relative to accommodating any night shifts out there!! People go here, and support this business!

There is simply not a better family owned business than Marcella’s. The best donuts in this area. Carmen greets every customer with a smile as soon as you open the door. She is always so nice to my daughter and I when we come back in. The donuts and the customer service is what keeps us coming back to Marcella’s!

Small town bakery feel, great products! Try a cronut!

I've been to the Eastgate location before, but this is my first visit to the Amelia location. The railing coming up the ramp is in poor repair, be careful. There is no drive thru at this location. I typically go in anyway, but it might matter to some. The last manning the shop was very nice and helpful, she did advise me that it is cheaper to order a half a dozen doughnuts vs the four doughnuts I came in to purchase. It was about 09:00 on a Thursday and they only had four sheets of doughnuts in the case. There were about a half a dozen varieties to choose from. I don't know if I was just too late, or if the offerings at this location are simply just less than Eastgate. I do know they likely have additional stock in the back, and they had what I was looking for so I didn't do any fact finding... ;).
Their Cronuts are very good. The Kettle cooked doughnuts are equally amazing but different. They did have a few seasonal, lemon, raspberry, puff filled. I grabbed a few of the 🍋 filled, they were delicious.
Oh, if you have never been... These are not your average doughnuts. Some are large, some are heavy, some are both. I'm a big guy and one doughnut is plenty unless I'm starving.
They do the "baker's dozen" thing if you get a dozen. Unless you're just stopping in for a doughnut or two, it's a better deal to get a half dozen(6), or a full dozen(13). Also keep in mind, these are clean fresh baked goods. They are not going to be good in three days... In fact, tomorrow is pushing it.

Marcella's has great donuts, especially cronuts. The coffee is fresh and the staff is always friendly. The only thing is they sell out early because everyone loves their donuts.

First time trying this and let me say wow!!! Why didn’t I sooner! Hard workers and great bakers! Thank you guys we will be back! Soon!

Awesome donuts each donut tastes very well cronuts are awesome And almost all They're donuts are good anyone reading this review. I highly recommended this donut shop $17 for a dozen of donuts.

Amazing - go early!
These donuts were great. Handmade the night before, patient staff and delicious product. We evacuated for Irma, and bought a box for the drive back to Florida. The lady behind the counter was so nice, I had to convince her to charge me. She still put extras in my box, and we ate them all. Thanks to them, we had something to eat when we got home and found ourselves without power. We WILL return!

Wonderful place. Great tasting. Great selection. Decent size. I even Called ahead to put some sprinkle doughnuts aside as I was headed to Amelia to see some one and my local doughnuts shop 2 hours away doesn't sell sprinkle doughnuts. Will be back everrytime I'm up here.
