After 20 years of back pain I had to make a decision. Surgery it was. Dr. John Herzog changed my life. I was living with painful spondylosis, scoliosis, and DDD. After my surgery I knew immediately that my quality of life had improved at least 85%. Dr. John Herzog was professional, fast and very pleasant. It has been almost 10 years since my surgery and I still feel great. I would highly recommend him.

I have had many years of experience with different neurosurgeons, and doctors relating to a back injury I had in my early 20’s. I had a laminectomy in 2012 in the L5- S1. I was ok a few years and then things began to worsen. After moving to NY in 2015 I had been putting off a spinal fusion, doing everything possible to avoid it; injections, acupuncture, chiropractor, massage, PT, rhizotomy’s (multiple), etc. Unfortunately, my body wasn’t mechanically fixed. I researched MANY doctors from Boston to NYC. I chose Dr. Herzog because of his reputation and unique training. I initially went through apts. with his team. They did a thorough history with me, ordered every new test I could get for the most current diagnostics. After all my tests came back, I met again with a member of his team that gave me there opinion on what was going on. The recommendation was surgery. I had done everything I could to delay the inevitable. What was additionally discovered was that I had developed spondylolisthesis. His team then gave all my files and results to Dr. Herzog. We met and he took the time to answer every question. He was honest, direct, and extremely patient and kind. He agreed I had exhausted everything I could do, and recommended surgery. After deciding to go ahead with the fusion, his surgical coordinator Renee was amazing. She made the pre surgical process seamless and it was well organized.
I am a week and a half post surgery, and feeling good. I have zero numbness or tingling down my legs. Gone. I do have some surgical pain but it is being managed well, and in time should subside. I just can’t say enough about the whole experience and I am feeling very hopeful about my outcome. I am thrilled with Dr. Herzog and his team. Looking forward to more healing and a positive road ahead. Thank you Dr. Herzog for beginning to give me hope again.

So far I’m having a wonderful experience with Saratoga Spine. I see the PA Jamie. After all Spine places I’ve been turned away from, Jamie said she will not give up on me. I had a PA in Burlington, VT who disregarded my pain because he thought I wanted disability. I’ve had a doctor look at an older MRI and say there is nothing he can do. My regular doctor told me it’s stress. Jamie kept her word and didn’t give up or turn me away. I see Dr. Herzog April 17th to discuss surgery from what I understand. I’ve had 3 spine surgeries. No relief. Looking forward to more mobility in my neck, no pain down my arm or spine. The staff truly does care! And I love that. First time I have walked out of a Spine place with no tears of the fear of not getting better and for that Saratoga Spine. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Had neck fusion in Aug and laminectomy in dec of 2018. Surgeries and all prep work completed efficiently and with minimal recovery time (about 5-7 days with no pain killers needed!). Highly recommended surgeon plus staff at spinal office very courteous and helpful (thanks dr. Rick!!). Living life in the new year pain free and very happy! Much thanks to the hands/head of dr. Herzog!!!

Very professional and concern effort by all medical staff. Dr Herzog very sharp first gave me medication I can function on 24 hrs. Prior I would be in pain no sleep and lucky to fiction for 4 hrs . I would be in bed at 3:00pm in pain
I went to 5doctors got nothing effective for pain and very little concern. Let me mention facelity is spotless. Thank u all for everything

Mom had back surgery after years of being treated for years by other doctors with no relief. She is doing great and the attention of the doctors and staff were beyond expectations! Thank goodness she found him!

I would highly recommend Dr.Herzog for surgery. Awesome .
