Great little place in the downtown area! Tommy is a great down to earth guy! Strike up a conversation if you can! 82 years and has been working here for 63 years! Went with some friends in the chicken business and Tommy was kind enough to cook us fried chicken! Fries were really good!

Melissa’s customer was spectacular - bacon and cheese omelette was good. Strong coffee. The owner Tommy introduced himself and welcomed us. Awesome place - very low key and peaceful.

Never have I walked into an establishment to be greeted with such hospitality! Absolutely every worker and a few patrons said hello--great vibe!
The food was typical breakfast and coffee was spot on. Wish I'd found it earlier in my travels--definitely would have made it my morning stop every morning had this not been my last one in town.

Stopped by for a yummy All- American hamburger and fries. Had a few glasses of Chardonnay too! Incredibly decent prices on food and alcohol. There is no pretentiousness here….. just good food, good people and good prices. The server named Melissa was a sweetheart with a great sense of humor. Keno is here so sit back and relax. They like the customers to enjoy and hand around,

Reuben, seasoned fries, and iced tea for $12 and change; plenty of options under $10. Everything's made right after you order, staff are all darlings. Wish places like this were still the norm.

The wait staff is efficient and friendly without being overbearing. The food was classic diner fare. Excellent place for breakfast- much better than the complimentary breakfast at my hotel.

Stopped in while visiting Providence and had a lovely breakfast! Everyone there was incredibly warm and welcoming. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette which was delicious, and my son loved his blueberry pancakes. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town :)

Support a local small business and go to Tommy's Place instead of another chain restaurant. There's no other place like Tommy's Place in Providence! Nothing compares to the personal service you get from Tommy himself and his home cooked meals. Delicious breakfast on the grill not microwaved like many places. Some of my lunch favorites are American Chop Suey, Pulled Pork, Burgers, Chicken Cutlet and Fried Shrimp. There is a wide variety on the menu with something for everyone. Very reasonable prices too! There's a reason many of his regulars like myself self have continued to go there for over 25 years.

I didn’t get a chance to visit them since they are closed on weekends which is a shame but I would love to go there for breakfast especially the scrambled eggs

This was such a good just classic neighborhood place. We had burgers & a chicken wrap. There were only a few customers dining in. Tommy was actually still there and told us that since the pandemic he has stayed open but had lost mango employees and was now working in the kitchen himself. It was a great lunch and I would definitely go back!

Local place that has been around for 60+ years. The owner is friendly and inviting and the menu is simple yet has something for everyone. Don't let the location or low key exterior fool you. Great service from a helpful staff.

Oh man. Gotta get a real, American breakfast here with Melissa and Tommy himself! Old school charm and a fantastic glass atrium to let sunlight fill half the place, the food is great, fresh and very well priced. Recommend you try it and see.

Tommy's Place is the best-kept secret in Downtown Providence - though no "secret" at all for locals. Tommy, the owner and proprietor is a human dynamo! It seems he is everywhere at once, greeting guests, cooking, bartending and performing routine maintenance. He shops every day for the finest fresh foods. He's there at 4:30 every morning prepping his Place for opening weekdays from 6:00 AM. to 11:00 AM for breakfast, and from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM for lunch. The well-stocked bar (with KENO) opens at 6:00 AM for the none-too-faint-of-heart, and remains open and thriving until 11:00 PM. The food is of the highest quality, expertly prepared. The service is both friendly and super-efficient. The prices are eminently reasonable. There is something for every taste on the menu, and watch for the daily specials! There is counter and table service for individuals and groups of all sizes. Tommy has been operating restaurants in Providence for over 60 years. I highly recommend Tommy's Place - to me it's been "home" for more than 20 years. Come into Tommy's Place for an unparalled dining experience and be sure to tell all your friends!

Stepped back into time and am sitting on a counter stool by the kitchen as I am typing this. The smiling owner is in and out of the kitchen, mingling with the few patrons here on this cold sunny and windy mid-afternoon. A friendly and unintrusive waitress served me up the best homemade cup of chicken soup I have had in a while and I ate a simple half chicken salad sandwhich on wheat. Just the right amount for this small woman to be satisfied till dinner. The prices are very reasonable and fit just right with the portions served. Not too small and just enough to where take-home is unnecessary.

I agree with the previous post. Outside looks like a run down convenience store. Inside is cozy, welcoming and spacious.

It's a restaurant. Great food. Omelette are great and the food is cheap. Couldn't believe it.

They serve alcohol in the morning. That was something new to see.

Love the food and the price very reasonable. Tommy is a very nice man who is always pleasant to talk to. His daughter Sally helps him out and she is just as pleasant as can be.
