Tired of the subpar customer service and prescription delays that I was experiencing at a national pharmacy chain, I recently switched to John’s. First of all, it was refreshing to get a real, empathetic person on the phone, especially when navigating something as important as medication. John’s immediately transferred over my prescriptions, communicating with me at every step and explaining insurance/payment options that reduced my out-of-pocket cost. At the national chain, I waited for days to have one particularly crucial prescription filled without explanation. John’s had it ready for pickup in a few minutes. If you want to be treated like a human whose health and well-being are valued, support a local business and go to John’s!

My Husband and I have used John's Pharmacy on Central for many years now. John and staff are very knowledgeable, efficient and prices are competitive. John has gone out of his way to assure we have gotten hard-to-get medications and has even reccommended OTC meds to help us heal. He also cares about how these affect us.
His name is on the billboard and he stands behind it with pride and every thing he does and sells. I have rarely seen anyone take such pride to give you their best and courteous service. We are loyal customers and will always be.

John is the very best pharmacist I've ever had as long as I live in Albuquerque I will use no other pharmacy. John and his employees are very prompt respectful and have compassion. Thank you for everything you do

I’m obsessed with this place. Switched here from Walgreens and it’s literal night and day. Everyone here is so kind, they’re always on top of things, I get a text whenever my prescriptions are ready, and even when there’s a line I’m in and out in 5 minutes. John is the kind of person who is not only happy to answer questions but will also answer the ones you didn’t know you had. Maybe it’s weird to love a pharmacy this much but in a city like ABQ where healthcare is so generally terrible it’s really nice to have this place that’s so amazing.

I love this place. It's a nice family run neighborhood pharmacy. We've had multiple vaccines here and they are always great.

I will never go back to Walmart, Walgreens, etc again if I can help it! Unless I move from this area! This pharmacy has treated me so well! I will do nothing but go to small family owned pharmacies, such as Johns! They have my medicines on time, I can call when I have questions, I don’t have to wait on hold for 75 hours, Nor do I have to wait in line for over an hour, I don’t have the Discomforts of the big chains. If you live near, please make the switch. It’s worth it.

I rarely write reviews, but this is truly an exceptional pharmacy with an amazing owner and staff. They always go above and beyond, they’re transparent, and I feel like I’m not just any random customer to them. Even when I call on the phone they will remember personal things and ask for updates and follow-up. They deliver my orders and it’s always zero stress. I imagine this is what it felt like to have a small local pharmacy many decades ago … only missing the Soda Shop. I wish them great continued success and hope they keep that local pharmacy vibe. I love this place. After spending countless frustrating hours dealing with Walgreens and their long lines and wrong prescriptions this place is a gem. I've gotten two vaccinations and was in and out in minutes; the same with a prescription. "Give me 2 minutes" they said and that was what it took and they ask questions about medication interactions with others I'm taking. All of the staff is polite and knowledgeable. I'm sold.

My partner and I are caretakers for his 96 year-old parents. My partner discovered John’s Pharmacy after many problems at their big box pharmacy. We absolutely love this small, hometown pharmacy. You can’t beat the superior and exceptional professional pharmaceutical guidance and boutique service provided by Dr. Ma and his staff. Dr. Ma is providing a personal and curated pharmaceutical service that you will NEVER get at a big box operation. I was able to walk in and receive new COVID booster and flu vaccines on Saturday afternoon - so thankful John’s accepted my insurance because CVS was going to charge $191 just for COVID vax. They were friendly, professional and super efficient. Check them out for a refreshing change from big retail pharmacies.

Helpful, knowledgeable staff. OTC and prescription medicines. Reasonable pricing. Did I say how helpful the people are? Very.

I changed my regular pharmacy and am very happy with the service, and courteous and professional staff. I also appreciate not having to walk through a huge store selling everything to care for my health. And John's Pharmacy is a locally owned and independent business. I am glad I chose John's as my pharmacy.

VERY HAPPY after receiving my Covid booster and a flu shot at this pharmacy. There was no waiting, only one person ahead of me, and the med tech did a SUPERB job, as did the person that checked me in at the counter. Parking was plentiful with easy access on/off Central Ave. in both directions. Truly outstanding service. Thank you for helping me get my shots!

Got my 3rd dose (booster) of Pfizer here. The staff/techs were all extremely courteous, helpful, and seemed to go above & beyond to accommodate people’s needs. I called ahead and they allowed me to do a walk in which was great. Administration of the vaccine was efficient even considering there were 2 people who came after me that were able to get their dose before I even left after my waiting period. John the pharmacist was very kind, people-oriented, and him/his staff answered all my questions. He was the first person who administered my vaccine to suggest taking Tylenol or ibuprofen if I have any fever or chills symptoms. Nobody else at the previous site I received my vaccine at suggested that. These small things make a difference when it comes to care. Definitely will be supporting this pharmacy as someone who is often in the it International District—I’m even considering filling my scripts here in the future. Support local businesses like this one because the level of expertise and comfort provided here exceeds that of a Walgreens or Costco Pharmacy by A LOT. Thank you John and your brilliant staff!! Words can’t describe how amazing you all are.

Update Winter 2022: I have since switched some prescriptions here and an always amazed at how efficient, thorough, responsive, and kind this pharmacy is. I live in the South Valley,
but the high level of personalized and patient centered considerations this pharmacy takes is worth the drive.

I am so excited to find Johns Pharmacy for let me tell you they are so awesome. I was with another pharmacy that is a major one an years on years I dealt with so much of not having my meds an I got on line to find another place an I read all of his reviews an they really got my mind to start moving my meds to John's for he was so helpful an makes sure you have the meds you need. Also when you get new meds he does the background check also to see if it will counter with your medication that's what I love about him he's very awesome look's out for his customers. So bottom line is he is awesome an you should move everything to Johns Pharmacy you will not regret it.

I came here to get my COVID booster shot, and I'm glad I did. The people that work here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. This is very much a community based independent pharmacy, where you get that feeling of you're in a small town. I was frequently checked in on by the person who administered the vaccine (Jeremy), and allowed to stay for as long as I needed. The interaction between the staff and the regular customers (and even non-regulars like me) that I observed over the course of an hour and a half are fantastic. I will be looking for an excuse to get my prescriptions transferred over to John's Pharmacy. I encourage everyone to check them out!

Went in for a bottle of children's ibuprofen. And they were friendly enough to find the exact dosage for my 1 year old daughter. They also included a free syringe and extra dosage cups. Thank you for the great service!

My parents have been coming to this pharmacy for a while now. Both my parents just love the atmosphere, respect, and kindness they receive. I had to come by the pharmacy to meet them. If I didn't live so far I would also use John Pharmacy.
