WATCH OUT!!! Nothing but bad news for this dealer. We had had multiple problems with a vehicle only weeks after buying. Jody said that he would take the car back, but kept beating around the bush when it came to price. After not answering calls and evading my girlfriend for weeks I finally got him on the phone where he had the audacity to offer to take the car back for 2k less than what we paid!!! I refused the offer and tried to reason with him but he told me to F*** OFF and rudely hung up the phone.

If you read no further than the first sentence, know this: DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM JODY FISCHER. HE IS A SNAKE OIL SALESMAN. He perfectly epitomizes the stereotype of a crooked, dishonest used car salesman.

I made the VERY costly mistake of buying a car from Jody in November of 2017. It was a 2005 Subaru Outback H6 with 175k miles on it. He claimed the head gaskets had recently been repaired, among other things. He told me that HIS mechanic that HE PAYS checked it out, fixed it up and insisted—with complete confidence—that it would run great for another 100k miles.

My grave mistake was that I believed him. I didn't get an independent mechanic to check out the car first because I was desperate for a new car as mine had been totaled in an accident (wasn't my fault) and this one was the only one on the market I could afford at that point in time.

My one smart move was that I insisted on a 3 month/3000 mile power train warranty. And how lucky it was that I did. Within two hours of driving the car off the lot, the check engine light turned on. He fixed the problem (replaced the catalytic converter), but that was only the beginning.

Two weeks later, my car started making a horrific noise whenever it started up in the morning. I took it to a mechanic to get it checked out and thank goodness I did. I received an assessment of over $2500 worth of repairs needed. I then had it checked out at 2 more shops who more or less said the same thing. When confronted, Jody claimed he needed HIS mechanic to confirm, so I drove all the way out to Billings again (from Bozeman) to take the car in. After confirming what I already knew to be true, Jody and I came to an agreement on what work they would do under the warranty and then offered to fix the other issues for just the cost of the parts and not charge labor.

Long story short, they only replaced one part, not the remaining parts that they were supposed to cover under the warranty as well as what he claimed he would give me at cost. He also lied about when the car would be ready and when it finally was, his son Quinn was an hour late to our agreed upon meeting time and location and didn't think to tell me. I had told Jody I wanted in writing that he would replace those parts after I returned from Christmas vacation even though it would obviously be past the warranty, and he agreed. But when Quinn arrived, he didn't bring anything in writing from Jody.

The saga doesn't even the end there. As the days leading up to the trip grew closer, the steering wheel became more and more difficult to turn. The morning we left, I had to jerk the steering wheel left or right in order for it to even turn a tiny bit from lane to lane, which was insanely sketchy on icy road conditions. When we got to Minnesota, we had a family friend who was a mechanic check it out. He said the rack and pinion and power steering pump needed replacing immediately. He only had time to replace the rack and pinion before we left so, while we no longer had to jerk the wheel anymore, it was still very difficult to turn the wheel.

I called Jody upon our return, related our harrowing trip to him and demanded my money back. He said fine, he'd buy the car back but said he wanted to see how much money he had put into it already. After TWO MONTHS of him giving me the run around, he said he'd take it back for only $4500 (I paid $6500 and had put HUNDREDS of dollars into fixing immediate problems). He also claimed I only paid $6000 even though I have a bill of sale that HE SIGNED that says I paid $6500. When my boyfriend declined his ridiculous offer, Jody said "OK, F**K YOU" and hung up. Real professional.

He says things like, "I just trust people," prompting you to trust him. He says, "I've never had a car come back to me." When, in fact, he won't let them come back to him. He is a scumbag of the lowest order.

Ultimately I, of course, learned that you should ALWAYS get a used car checked out from an independent mechanic REGARDLESS of how silver-tongued the salesman and NEVER buy a car from Jody Fischer.

He scams young teens out of thousands, and does not tell the truth. He never answers his phone, and then blocks you when you're just trying to get answers. Says he's never had a car come back to him, which is probably true because he avoids you after selling you a $*** car. Don't believe anything Jody says. I wish they had a zero star rating because 1 star is too much
