Eastgate Family Restaurant

The three of us have been traveling for hours. It was getting late in the day. All we wanted was a good home-cooked meal. And to our delight, that's exactly what we got! When we arrived, we were greeted on the outside of the restaurant by a picture on the window of the Cross of Christ at the Eastgate in Jerusalem. What a statement! On the door leading in, were the American flag and military insignias. As Christians, and I am a member of a 5 generation military family I knew at once we were in the right place. We didn't realize they were in their last 30 minutes before close. But when we came through the door the owner himself greeted us and showed us to our table as if we were there at the beginning of his day. The food was fine homey-cooking! The atmosphere was sweet. There was no rush for us to leave as there were several tables with folks not ready to head home either. What a wonderful pearl of great price to find on the road. I would highly recommend them and if you are on the road you might want to stop by for a fine meal too.

My boyfriend & I wanted to meet up for breakfast on my days off in Henderson as he’s working night shift 7P - 7 A in Sebree & I live in Newburgh. So I googled breakfast restaurants in Henderson & found this little gem!! As soon as we walked in you could just tell it was a good place to eat!!! This was on a Thursday morning. The portions was HUGE!! The coffee was good!!! The prices was amazing!!! The service incredible!!! This place was so good we went back on Friday!!! I think we may have found “our place”pics are from both days.

Hot coffee served in Yeti cups to keep it hot! Real potatoes and the best pepper gravy!! Service is excellent. It might look like any other breakfast place but it's not. Highly recommend.

Eastgate is my favorite breakfast spot in Henderson. It's nothing fancy, but the service is always top notch and the food is delicious. I cannot recommend Eastgate enough.

They have really good food we had the salmon patties and chili soup and it was delicious

Madison always takes good care of us. Biscuits and gravy are some of the best I've had and I've never been a big breakfast person.

I've had nothing but good experiences at this restaurant. It's a peaceful diner and the people working there are genuine and kind. Good prices, good variety and an exceptional breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic local diner! Friendly and prompt service, beverages stayed full. I had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, tried a bite of the Patti melt, and tried a pancake! Next time in the area totally coming back. Thanks Eastgate

Very reasonably priced & the staff is very sweet! I had my 1st brain sandwich experience here!!! It’s an experience that I NEVER want again, lol😂. The ladies did a very well job preparing it. The taste was great. The bread was nice & toasted. I just couldn’t get over the soft, mushy texture. I don’t know why I thought it be like hamburger patties, lol😂. I mean, duh🤦🏽‍♀! It’s brains! NEVERTHELESS, I will be back💕💕💕

We went for fish Friday it was amazing!! Great price, good size portions on the sides too. The staff was very friendly and did a nice job of keeping our drinks full and checking to see if we needed anything else. We will be back again!! Thank you for an enjoyable Friday night dinner!!

Loved our visit to this friendly family restaurant. This is run by very kind people who are willing to serve and make everything right, just the way you like it. The food was hot and tasty and my kids loved the hot chocolate!!

We have been traveling back n forth from north west Indiana to western Kentucky for our move. We stop here one our way in👍👍 delicious food and great hot coffee, and great service!!!

We found this place on the internet this morning. We are always looking for a new place to try. We have eliminated quite a few already! This place was different. It's not a fancy place, but I realized a long time ago that I cannot eat fancy. Is the food good? Yes it is. They serve breakfast every hour that they are open. We actually ended up with 2 different waitresses. It was shift change time when we got there. Everything as far as I could tell is made right there on site. Our food was good, the 2 waitresses were good and friendly! They knew how to make money. About the time we were getting ready to leave, the owner came to the table and we chatted for about 15 minutes or so. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely!
