This was my first stop on my TruSouth food journey. I will definitely drive 4 hours to eat here. The sausage is fantastic! Next time I’ll bring a bigger cooler. Destination food at it’s best!

You want to know how good it is? I hadn't thought about this place in 15 years when I used to work a job that took me through here weekly. Last night, I see it in my Louisville Kroger on Brownboro Road. Knew it on sight and 3 rolls were in my cart. Woke up this morning to the best breakfast sausage you will ever get.

Appearances are deceptive … This is not just a gas station! Hidden in the back of the gas station’s convenience store is the most delightful surprise… Jake’s sausage. I discovered this spot after reading an article in Food and Wine about how many restaurants and gourmets in Louisville have been journeying to Jake’s to procure its exquisite home-made sausage, which 100% lives up to its legendary reputation. The meat is tender and moist, simultaneously pillowy and chewy, and steeped in the most intricate flavors without being too salty, spicy, fatty, greasy, or smoky…. 🤤

Have never been to the store, but I live in Lexington ky and I have purchased the sausage at the local Kroger store. It has become of my morning start. The flavor is as good as it gets. Thanks for giving me my money's worth.

My name is Carol Blakeman and my brothers is Charles Blakeman,we have been buying Jakes sausage for years,it was the best,no strings or any other fillers just good sausage I bought a roll in krogers this week didn,t have any seasoning in it I was so dissatisfied, my brother who lives in Shepherdsville came to your places and got 10 rolls said his was same way, don,t know what you are doing differently but we are going to have to change brands and yours was the best.

First time trying it, and we love it!! It’s not stringy or gritty like so many other brands. My sister and I found this at Richmond’s Kroger, and we sure plan on stocking up!!

What an amazing find. I read an article about this place from an online magazine. The article was about the best sausage biscuit in America. This place surpassed the hype, if you can believe that. Now, I’m originally from the hills of North Georgia, where, while growing up, Saturday morning trips to the various biscuit barns was a fact-of-life. And my favorites where always the sausage and cheese biscuits topped with jelly, or homemade plum/pear/fig preserves (when available), or mustard when I wasn’t in the sweet mood. I thought I would never find places like these ever again. (This place doesn’t have jelly preserves or jelly, but they do have mustard)JOY! This place exists and I found it. And it’s a beautiful drive to get to, as well. Just the perfect drive after a morning run through bernhiem forest or the parklands of Floyd’s fork. The picture is of fresh sausage we bought after appreciating our glorious sausage biscuits. the prices are much less than I expected to pay, as well.

We learned about Jake’s from my wife’s Dad. It is by far the best pork sausage I’ve ever used.
Only wish it was closer to us, but it’s well worth the 1-1/2 drive to pick up 6 or more.

Stopped here for coffee on our way thru. I purchased some of the sausage on a whim. What a pleasant surprise, some of the best breakfast sausage I have had. Really sorry I didn't buy more. This will be a stop on our way to Georgia this year.

I found this sausage at Kroger in Lexington and as soon as I saw the Kentucky Proud sticker I had to buy! You can tell it is quality made just by looking at it. It’s the best sausage I have had in a very long time. Congrats on making it to Kroger! I can not wait to make country gravy with it. Keep it up!

I found my new route going right by the truck stop that sells sausage as well as other meats...and some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The large type was 7.99. I would have gladly paid 15 or more. This is hands down the sausage I've ever had and the group I cooked for agrees 100 percent. My route ended but hopefully I can get some mailed to me

Wow! Jake's breakfast sausage is delicious. I like the "hot" variety, which is not really hot -- just perfectly spiced. I am able to purchase it in my local (Owensboro) IGA.

My father driver there from Louisville and buys coolers full of sausage. He gives them to family and friends. I have had both hot and mild. Hot is definitely my favorite. This sausage will give bacon a run for it's money. And I LOVE bacon. You guys definitely have the right stuff. Keep up the great work.

I absolutely love Jake’s Sausage I ALWAYS buy the Mild bc it’s got a delicious “kick” to it but it makes the absolute best sausage gravy for my Biscuits and Gravy! I grew up with my Mom’s family in Michigan but the family left Floyd County KY to get work at car factories but I always said you couldn’t take Ky away from their veins! I grew up watching my “Little Mom”making homemade biscuits and gravy and you must have drippings from your sausage and Jake’s does that hands down along with frying your eggs up in that pan you made your sausage in! I’m using it this year for my sausage balls my son loves! Y’all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and try to put this last almost two years in the rearview mirror!

I bought some of the jakes country sausage and took it home and used it to make some hamburger helper, and it was the best damn country sausage I’ve ever tasted in my life, I’m honestly mad I didn’t grab more, but I’ll be back soon lol

And might I add, I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, I’m use to some of best food you can get your hands on, but this really impressed me. I’m so stoked to come back and get more.

A little side of the road truck stop sells the best sausage this side of heaven. Stop in for a sausage biscuit or bring home a pound or two! You’ll quickly realize that all other sausage is inferior.
