A small town treasure, worth every cent spent! Mr. Rose and his staff go all out with their baked goods to give flavor that cannot be matched, as well as remarkable service. The donuts and rolls are delicious, but their (giant) cream puffs are possibly the best you will ever eat! What a blessing this wonderful place is indeed for those who love a classic bakery environment and desserts that leave lasting memories. If you're traveling through the Amherst, VA area, ABSOLUTELY make a stop here!

We ate at this place on the way to NC, and oh my goodness, what an AMAZING stop! The bakery items are so much better than any place I've been. The service was great. Everyone was kind. Breakfast and lunch options but don't leave without a bakery item.

Delicious!!!! Fresh donuts. I really enjoyed the cinnamon bun donut, classic donuts, and the apple critters. It was soft on the inside, full of flavor. Excellent customer service. It's a small quaint bakery with indoor seating. I see they also offer other breakfast items, but we only came for the donuts this time. Definitely worth a stop!

Just moved to town and thought I'd come check it out. The nicest man was at the counter and let me try one of their incredible donuts for free before buying. Definitely worth the visit and will be recommending it to all!

If you want a home cooked meal this is the place to go. Everyone is so friendly and the food is delicious. The baked goods are the best I've ever had.

Went for the sugar. Got a dozen and an apple fritter & cinnamon bun..LOVED EVERYTHING!♥. The owner was seriously friendly. I'm a Krispy Kreme victim so I nuked them for 11 seconds and it's was on! Customers came in for real food and on the way out I was asked about the buffet but couldn't help. He was closing early so a call before you go might be a good idea. Support small business! Enjoy.🍩

Warm sweet atmosphere.. what a blessing to have a bakery like this right up the road. I took my daughter in here for her 14th birthday… Um Um Um Um good. We got donut holes and a couple glazed.. All in can say is “lord have mercy”.. Just go and try for yourself and you will feel and taste the goodness of this establishment.. God Bless the hands and people at What a Blessing. love this place. best donuts around. Their pastries are quite nice...they are not too sweet, just perfect in my opinion. The folks that own this are always so pleasant as well. We had lunch there and their sandwiches are served on fresh baked rolls! I had their take on an Italian hero..very tasty. Will be back.

Love this local gem! Greeted when we arrived, shown menu. We ordered sandwiches to eat there, so were invited to have a seat. Our waters came immediately, and in nice large glasses. I usually need to ask for a refill or 2, but not today! I had the turkey provolone, husband had chicken salad. Wow. Homemade rolls, lettuce and tomatoes, delish. Homemade chicken salad, quality turkey. Our first time here, certainly not our last. We decided to bring home some rolls and donuts. I'm not a donut fan, but the jelly long John was tasty. Rolls are out of this world. Service was the absolute friendliest and most efficient. Really nice, quality, hometown place. See for yourself, come for a meal. We'll be back!

Gilbert, the owner, is amazing! You won't find a better pecan pie or chicken salad.

Just started working here in Amherst and I've heard a lot of great things about this place. It's super cute when you walk in and I was greeted by the owner. He was absolutely great! I waited about 4 minutes for my breakfast sandwich and also bought some doughnuts while waiting. The food is ridiculously amazing. I've never tasted something so great! I'll definitely come back for the people and food!!!

Had breakfast here with my husband, each had sandwiches and comes with a donut on the side! The blonde brownie was fantastic. The best part is the kindness of the people working here.

Found this gem while visiting the area. Very nice staff. Many of the customers coming in were greeted by name. Repeat customers are always a good sign! Brewed sweet tea was delicious. We had the lunch buffet. Fresh salad. Vegetables. Cooked apples. Fresh watermelon. Tender beef. Dinner rolls. The food tested fresh and homemade. Lots of baked goods available. We enjoyed everything.

Incredible discovery! Visited for the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Lunch buffet was amazing and reminded me of the meals served at my grandmothers house many years ago. All I can say is don't bypass this place or the fine people working there.
