This was a fun and challenging hike for my 12 year old son and I. Surprised so many people call it “easy”. It’s pretty rocky and if you’re not moderately fit or hike regularly, I could see some folks may struggle. I believe the loop is an easier hike if you want to avoid the rocky part. Waterfall is beautiful!

From where I parked to the actual waterfalls was literally a 6-9 minute hike down a trail. Pretty rocky but easy enough. I would say older folk beware, but the falls are beautiful non the less

Fun hike, mostly woodland trail with lots of rocks. A few small plank bridges and muddy spots. A rock scramble at the end to the falls. 0.3 miles one way by my Garmin. All downhill to the falls which you guessed it means all uphill on the way back (not 90 degrees, very doable). The falls are beautiful and you can get right at the base.

This is an amazing trail. Plan to park off of Laurel Springs Drive near Weeping Rock Lane. The trail head is on the same side of the road just before the traffic circle. The trail is a fairly easy loop that is well marked with trail blazes. There are however a few steep areas where I had to pause to catch my breath (but overall not too bad. Nearby Dripping Rock is a bit more challenging, and then compared to Humpback Rock that was very challenging with many manys stops to catch my breath and let my legs rest). The trail is extensively rocky throughout. A good pair of hiking shoes or boots are recommended as opposed to tennis shoes. The trail actually crosses through the river at times. Most places have log bridges to keep your feet dry, but there are a few places where you must cross on rocks where having the proper footwear is important. I also found having a hiking stick helpful. As you cross the river, it is very important to keep a lookout for the trail blazes as the trail blends in to the rocky surroundings. I visited in early spring while most plants and trees were bare. I could imagine that this would be a good habitat for snakes and other reptiles in warmer weather where one may want to keep a watchful eye on where you are stepping and use caution. I was lucky and had the trail to myself today. It was a very peaceful and scenic hike. There is also another trail head just about a block up on the opposite side of the road (dripping rock).

Falls were great. Rained two days before we hiked this so very wet on the rocks, and the falls had more water than usual.

Nice little falls with water access. 12 minutes one way, moderately challenging with rocks and rough terrain. Not recommended for people with knee problems.

A great little walk to very pretty falls. There are a couple different places you can park. The trail is a loop and you can go either way. We were there in mid March. There was some snow feeding the water falls. Make sure you go far enough to be see the bottom of the falls the first set of falls are not as dramatic.

It’s a perfect trail for hiking with kids. We had a 6 year old, 3.5 and 1.5 year old with us who enjoyed as much as we the adults enjoyed the trails. We went there in the 3rd week of November. The weather was surprisingly very good. The winter look of the trail was beautiful. The parking lot is right in front of the trail. We did both upper and lower trail and all together it took us around 50 minutes. Only 10 minutes drive from Wintergreen resort/the lodges. It’s a MUST DO if you are around.

Be careful the rocks on the mountain are slippery but worth the hike. We took my parents with us. It reminded me of my childhood walking up a down mountains 😁.

Fun little trail, starts in between a couple nice houses in Wintergreen. Only 1 or 2 places to park at the trailhead. Nice waterfall that we had all to ourselves.

Love this. Great walk even with kids. A few rocky sections that need a careful stepping. Other than that waterfall at the end is the prize.

Easy hike; even for those without much mind for fitness. Not a lot of steep inclines; well managed trail with plenty of natural steps.
Large rock face to climb, but not a lot of sweeping views due to overgrown vegetation. Still a fun hike without too much of a challenge.

Technically we didn't follow a certain path or trail. We happened to be staying in a house at the very top of the mountain in Winter green. Decided to venture into the woods & we just walked towards the sound of water...AND THERE IT WAS! A beautiful site & very tranquil. It was just us & nature, nothing else😌 Go for it if you're up for an adventure & take it ALL in!

Really short hike but very beautiful falls. Took our teens along they didn't have a problem with the terrain and seemed to enjoy themselves. You can take Morgan's loop from the lower area to circle back if you would rather not to an out and back hike. Only marking as moderate due to some of the larger rocks on the path for 50% + of the trail, otherwise it's a family easy hike, we passed 3 other groups on our Mother's day hike.
There is no parking area, but a loop at the end if a residential area,l within Wintergreen, there are no fees to visit but also, no restrooms nearby. I would consider this to be a pet friendly trail although if you have explorer careful for snakes. Snakes love those large rocky crevices.

One of my favorite hikes. This place surprised me. People said it was a quick and easy hike. It took us a couple of hours including time to enjoy the view. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes. You will walk through some rocky areas. Must bring your camera as well!

Amazing place to hike. So pretty. The hike just sucks when you’re in your way back because the hill is basically a 90 degree angle all the way up.

There's a bit of a small drive through Winter Green to make it to the trail head. Once at the head, there are some spots for parking. This is not a difficult trail. However, it is fun and full of different landscapes for being about a mile long. It is dog and kid friendly.

Beautiful falls, moderately difficult hike...if you go when rainy or just rained, it'll be wet most of the way.
