Park has 2 sections, divided by a road. Both are quiet, peaceful, have shaded seating, and the pooches love it. The owls like to sit out and watch visitors. Entertainment for everyone! lol

Very small park, but very clean and well maintained. Plus, owls!

This park has tiny, violent owls all over the place! They are amazing. It's a small park tucked in between busy roads, but still a good crying spot because there are rarely many people in it (likely due to the aggressive owls).

This park is the result of Vice Mayor Susan Starkey's work to protect the burrowing owls. In 2010 the Davie Town Council dedicated the open space at SW 26 Street and Flamingo Road for the purpose of preserving and protecting burrowing owls who face a small risk of future extinction. They are protected by the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. These owls are small and live in underground burrows found usually in parks. In this case a park was created to protect the burrows. Three artificial burrows were created in the park with the help of students from Indian Ridge Middle School, members of Broward County, South Florida Audubon Society, Project Perch, and town staff. It is thought that the park is home to 11 burrowing owls. The park is actually located on two sides of a road. A major downside to the park is that there is no parking lot. I took a risk and parked anyway and could not believe my eyes when a saw an owl perched on his protection sign. I actually saw four owls hanging out the burrow but only one wanted his picture taken. I don't usually see owls so this was a real treat for me. In addition to the protected burrows the park also contained a pavilion, picnic tables, benches, a paved walking trail, and a small butterfly garden.

It's a nice little place to enjoy. They have the owl burrows blocked so they can't be bothered, but you can still see them. I will definitely be visiting again.

First of all, its called Ted Ferrone Park. There are maybe 4 owls here living between 2 owl dens that are protected from people being able to bother them. This park lacks any shade whatsoever but offers a basketball court, playground, beach style volleyball area (with no net), a great workout area, 4 raquetball courts and a big open field for football or soccer practices. It also has a walkway all throughout the park to run or walk around on. It's a great park, just wish it had some shade especially by the playground.

I love, love this park! The only downfall is people who bring their dogs unleashed.
