Eleven:11 is a wonderful Black-owned art gallery that has a variety of pieces of many different styles, mediums, and disciplines located in a very convenient spot in the heart of DC.

Nicola Charles, the gallery's owner, is a wealth of knowledge and is a delight to work with, both as an artist and a collector!

The owner Nicola Charles is committed to featuring local artists as well as introducing DC to artists from her home country of Great Britain. The exhibition programming is diverse in style and artist representation yet remains unified in featuring artists that would be normally overlooked by other galleries in DC. If you have a passion for art and want to become a collector, this is a perfect gallery to get started.

Her entrepreneurial spirit brought her to DC, her vision to nurture and promote myriad emerging artists. The Washington area residents are so fortunate to be able to enjoy the breath of works at 11:Eleven Gallery. Thank you Nicola.

Nicola curates a beautiful collection of art, with impressive shows. I've attended several openings and they're always a lovely time. She's also been helpful to friends who are interested in purchasing some of their first pieces and explaining the basics of art collecting.

Finally went yesterday for Art All Night and had the best time! Nicola, the gallery owner, made everyone feel welcome, the atmosphere was amazing, good drinks and food, too and i loved that some of the artists were there, staying for a long time, very open to answering questions. diverse range of art works, colorful and vibrant. Can't wait to go back soon.

This gallery is a gem. Black and woman owned with the most interesting exhibits featuring artists that oftentimes get overlooked. A hidden treasure in the area and Nicola, the gallery owner is amazing! Make sure you add this to your must-see list!

Eleven Gallery is a lovely gallery with great art. in wide ranges with many affordable options, Nichola and the gallery have created a fun, integrated community of artist and arts; Nichola is fantastic, friendly and willing to work with clients.

The brainchild of Nicola Charles, 11:Eleven gallery is a unique and dynamic addition to Washington D.C’s art scene, specializing in UK contemporary and urban art.

The name 11:Eleven gallery was borne from a strong belief in angel numbers. 1111 represents positivity, opportunity and manifestation of one's goals, dreams and aspirations, perfectly representing the gallery’s values and vision.

Their mission is to broaden the horizons of the already vibrant art scene within the District by introducing a more international approach, bridging the gap between the US and UK art markets and introducing some truly spectacular and sought after pieces, whilst developing the careers of local and UK emerging and under-represented artists.

They truly believe that art should be inclusive to all and exclusive to none, and this ethos is at the heart of everything they do; this is particularly visible in the work they do with schools in underserved areas, delivering an exciting program of visits, artist and specialist talks as well as other events to keep children engaged in the arts and encouraging them to explore creative outlets throughout their careers as students and beyond.

I wholeheartedly recommend Nicola and her Gallery to anybody looking to invest in a contemporary piece of art by seriously impressive UK artists from a knowledgeable and genuinely passionate gallerista!

As I live in the UK I contacted Nicola via Instagram not really sure what time it was in the US or when she might get back to me. Within minutes she had responded with information about the piece I had been enquiring about as well as to offer to bring this to the UK for me!! And she also provided me with quotes for several different shipping options just incase I wanted it sent over immediately.
Nicola took the time to share with me her own experiences of shipping to the UK and to advise me on the best options. However, it seemed crazy not to accept the incredibly thoughtful and generous offer to hand deliver with care and attention the piece of work that I am so excited about…so I graciously accepted Nicola’s offer to bring this over for me to the UK! What a service!!!

But wait, there’s more!…I had problems purchasing the piece on the website and then my transaction was declined by my bank (apparently they didn’t think it was me making the transaction!?!) and all the while Nicola stayed chatting to me on Instagram (about an hour) to work out how to resolve the issues. Then finally, when I really thought I wasn’t going to be able to buy the piece, Nicola suggested an alternative; taking the time to write me a special invoice to pay directly! Phew!

I was blown away by Nicola’s efficiency and generosity and I wish I lived around the corner from Gallery 11 so that I could visit in person and show my support for the gallery and artists face2face.

Thank you Nicola. I’ve wanted that piece for a very long time and I feel quite emotional about the journey in securing it <3

If I could give 11:eleven more stars I would! Nicola has curated such a charming space with some truly beautiful pieces. I discovered her and her gallery through another friend who mentioned I would probably love the pieces she carries (spoiler alert, I do and have already made three purchases). But hands down my favorite thing about her and her gallery, is that she believes art should be accessible to all. She will work with you to set up a reasonable payment plan if you need a little time to squirrel away some funds because you fell in love with a piece you weren’t expecting to (I know this has happened to me). It’s her overall effervescent demeanor, collection, and vibe that make 11:eleven a must see.

Talk about an absolute hidden gem of a venue in a great location. I stumbled on this venue while searching for a place for a surprise party and the owner Nicola is beyond amazing. In addition to the great art you can find curated there, it’s also a perfect venue for anything you can dream up!

Absolutely love this gallery, always something exciting and fresh to see.

Omgee. I’m a travel surgical nurse visiting the DC area for a roller skate party. Happen to be touring the Chinatown area when a passerby over heard me and my friend talking about art. She suggested the 11:eleven art gallery.

I’m so glad I didn’t t miss this opportunity. Such unique, strong creativity! I also heard the infrequent show of other arts and expressions are great; along with spoken word.

Nicola owns and curates a wonderful gallery with such electric collections. There’s something for everyone. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she’s just a delight to work with. Can’t wait to get my print on the wall. I’ll absolutely be back to purchase additional artwork.

Go now! 11:Eleven is a trailblazing new addition to DC's art-scape that spotlights UK & international street artists. Nicola, the founder, is warm and friendly and a joy to listen to. Discovered (to me, at least) when a phenomenal London artist was posting new work and tagging the gallery. "Wait, a second... that's down the street."

Nicola was great to work with and the art she brings to DC is so unique and eye catching. I know so many people who have gone into Eleven:11 and walked out with art that really speaks to them. Keep it up Eleven: 11!

Nicola and 11:11 have easily become my favorite galleriest and gallery. Their shows are always memorable and Nicola and her team is phenomenal. Glad to have 11:11 in DC.

I originally contacted the gallery to inquire about a Sara Pope print. I was immediately contacted by Nicola who sent pictures, checked shipping costs and was overall just incredibly helpful. I did end up purchasing the print - it shipped the next day and was very well packaged.
Great experience with the gallery and I hope to visit when I’m in DC this summer!!!
