The Hiatus Greenway is part of the Broward County Greenway System, a network of safe clean bicycle and equestrian paths, nature trails, and waterways that were created to provide recreation and alternative modes of transportation. The trails connect conservation lands, parks, historic and cultural sites, schools, and businesses. The greenways also restore native vegetation and create wildlife habitats.

The Hiatus Greenway is 6 miles of asphalt trail that parallels the C-42 canal. The northern end of the trail starts at 44th Street in Sunrise. You can park at Welleby Park where you can find parking, restrooms, and water. The southern end of the trail connects to the new River Greenway in Plantation. You can find parking for the trail at the Plaza at Davie shopping center. Along the trail are signs, bridges, benches, and landscaping.

The trail is ideal for dog walking, biking, inline skating, walking, running, horseback riding, and fishing. Greenways provide safe spaces for people travel that are closed to vehicle traffic. They are also great places to see wildlife. I saw a beautiful Great Egret on the trail today.

I really liked it ,a beautiful place to ride a bicycle .it was my first time and I did enjoy it ,its peaceful . I will use this place for sure more

recently got a cruiser bike... and I must say, what a fabulous ride!! love the greenway!!

Excellent exercise path that links up to New River Greenway goes more through old Hiatus up to 44th Street in Sunrise Florida.

It's very nice walking or jogging path.
