The Steamship Authority Nantucket Terminal

This was my first trip to Nantucket. I booked my tickets online. I opted for the fast ferry. The website offers updatea so you can check the status of the departure times and the parking lots that are open. For someone who likes to plan ahead, this was a great service! The staff was very helpful and reassuring whe. I told them I was a first-timer! There are clean bathrooms in the terminal as you wait for your departure. The boat itself had a lot of seating to choose from, including tables, so you can bring a picnic lunch or snacks. There is a bar where you can purchase drinks, including alcoholic beverages. It was a great trip both to and from Nantucket!

Less expensive than the Hy Line ferry to Nantucket. Clean boat. Snacks and drinks available. The draft beer was cold!!! Unless you want to fork out double the price for the fast ferry, the regular ferry is perfectly nice. Recommended! Parking can be had nearby for about $20 per day.

Great service to Nantucket on the high speed ferry. Smooth ride, well organized, one hour to island!

Cost during September to bring a car over to Nantucket around $280 - they are very efficient about getting cars on and off. Fairly smooth ride. If your on standby you have the chance to get on the boat, you do need a reservation to be on standby, and you need to call at least an hour ahead of departure to get on the list.

Easy to park. Ferry was on time. Ferry to Nantucket was comfortable. Sat on the top deck to get the best views!

I will GLADLY pick the steamship over the Hyline absolutely any day. Boats are way more comfortable and the WiFi is awesome.

The high speed ferry is sure a quick and enjoyable ride to and from Nantucket. If you are on a tight budget bring your own snacks and drinks. A set of binoculars is recommended.

Great experience! Had reservations for Sept 10 .
Decided to go home for couple weeks early .than back to Nantucket.
Ladies at the counter were absolutely great !! Got me home 1 month early .only to come back in 6 weeks .

This service was much much more affordable and all around better than the other competitor. We took the hi line on our first day there and had a better experience with the steamship authority. The ship was more quiet and the seats were much more comfortable and the best part was they're more affordable! Definitely go with them!!

Very easy. They have a mini food bar on the high speed and traditional ferry. We were worried about motion sickness so we tried to take the high speed ferry. It was canceled due to wind so we had to take traditional. We also took some Dramamine. We were completely fine. It was a beautiful ride. We took the high speed as well. It was great too. Very helpful staff and better pricing than some of the other options.

Man u gonna love it, I use it to visit family over in Nantuket I love the wonderfull view in the mornings even to is slow me and my family enjoy it!! Sometimes u fall a sleep and dont even feel the trip 😅

Friendly and efficient service. As a note, personal luggage wagons may require an additional bike ticket to bring onboard. Strollers also no longer qualify for the bike boarding line, without a bike ticket.

I love this ferry service. They have the best price around. I took their new slow boat "The Woods Hole" yesterday from Hyannis to Nantucket... roundtrip. Comfortable and smooth ride. Nice people. Last week I took one of their vessels from Woods Hole to Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard- roundtrip. That too, was smooth, pleasant and the best deal around.

My companion and I on our first visit ever to Martha Vineyard as passagers with out a vehicle and lots of camping equipment was greet by a wonderful gracious marvelous staff person Bridget. She witness our struggle and rush to our side with assistance beyond belief. First by gaven us a lift with all our gear on their golf cart to the bus stop, where she gave us instruction to get to our destination Martha's Vineyard Family Campground. And if we needed anything else to come back to her office to ask. Or if we waited she would carry us there when she got off from work. So standing at the bus stop for a short while trying to figure things out Bridget drives back down saying load up your stuff I've got you a ride there with someone who lives right next door. What a benefit from complete strangers that went out of their way to help us. I will be for ever grateful for their kindness. After settling in we went back the next day to thank them again were we got a other VIP welcome and stay. Truly the best personal of a business I will never forget and always be thankful.
