Jackson County Solid Waste / Transfer Station

Excellent service every time! The ladies and gentlemen who unload your truck or trailer are courteous and friendly. It’s worth the drive to Jackson County Solid Waste because the fact they do unload the truck or trailer for you. If you’ve got lighter stuff to unload, they have a dumpster just inside the gate. If you have a heavier load, you pull around to the left and dump in the larger building. If you need ground up mulch, they also have that available as well. It’s single ground I believe based on the size of some of the sticks in the mulch. It’s good quality though, especially for the price. If you’re anywhere near this area, go ahead and make the drive to Jackson County Solid Waste. You won’t regret it!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Courteous, efficient and CHEAP! I drive slightly out of my way to go here over a couple of other more local places because I know what I’m going to get every time. They take just about everything.

I have always had an excellent experience with your service. The price is reasonable, the staff is courteous. It the only landfill that they unload my load ! When you are a senior, that is a major plus. This is a refreshing difference compared to others.

Over the past three years, I have used the Transfer Station numerous times as my husband and I clean up the home place where my dad stored piles and piles of things he "might use one day." The county staff members are polite and helpful and the inmates who work there have always been polite, as well. They clean out our trailer and often sweep it for us. On a side note, I am also amused by their surprise that a gal can back a trailer as well as I do! Thanks for doing a great job, guys!

Over the last 10 years I've been a regular visitor to your landfill site and without exception drove away pleased with your team! The price is very reasonable for residents, employees at the weigh station are excellent representatives for Jackson County. Please pass on my appreciation for a job well done!

I have been a regular there now for the past 20 years and i have never had a bad thing to say about them. They are super nice and they get you in and out quicker then the drive thru at McDonald's on a friday night! Keep up the great work guys!

Uh... I mean.. it's a landfill. You throw stuff away there. It stinks something awful. So if these are the criteria for a good landfill, then Jackson County Solid Waste meets the specified metrics. It's no more or less stinkier than any other landfill. They are reasonably priced @ $58/ton. If you're throwing away boxes, it won't cost much.

The alternative to recycling since Jackson County does not provide recycling centers. Yes - you read that correctly. No need to recycle in Jackson County.

Everyone at the transfer and compactor locations are courteous and helpful..the young men at the transfer station...unload and sweep out the bed of my truck every time...its a dirty, stinking job..but yet these young men don't seem to mind and are always respectful....

Love the Jackson County Recycling event they have spring and fall! The responsible way to get rid of e-waste, old paint and so much more!

It’s a landfill. I mean if I can drop of nearly 300 pounds of garbage for only $7 I’m not going to complain about anything.
