The Fish Place

I grew up in North Texas eating fried catfish regularly. I’ve had good, great, and pretty terrible catfish over the years and The Fish Place’s catfish ranks right up there with the better ones. Filets are a good size and the portions are generous. The cole slaw is a nice vinegar with white pepper. The fries were crisp and the hush puppies were well seasoned. This is definitely a return trip next time we’re in Red Bay for service on the motorhome.

It seemed most of their business was take out, but we were there for an early supper. There are about 15 or so seats in the dining room distributed among 4 or 5 tables.

The servings are gigantic! I swear, my husband and I, could share one plate , and have plenty left over! Their fish is great! It is really tasty! Their hush puppies are outstanding! Highly recommend!!

We loved this place! The fish po-boy and fish tacos are great. Also tried the chicken strip plate and it was great. The hush puppies are slightly sweet, which is dangerous 😉

We ordered the Smoked Chicken Spud plate and a side order of Smoked Chicken. It was excellent as usual. If you haven’t tried it you need to do so. You can thank me later. The sides of hushpuppies and slaw were terrific as well. Just the way I prefer them. The price was reasonable and service time was quick and accurate. Will be back soon!

We stopped here by referral by the locals. I must say. This place is a hole in the wall that serves up some of the best Hushpuppies I have ever had in my life. The catfish is top notch and the Chicken is top notch as well. If you don't stop in and have the experience. You are missing out on some good eats.

The locals love their “A Fish Place.” Fish tacos and fried catfish are recommended as well as are the tasty hush puppies. Fresh food, friendly staff and hometown hospitality are found Wednesdays through Saturdays here!

This is the very best fish in this area, maybe anywhere. I personally can't think of anywhere that I've had better fish. The baked potato and hush puppies are always good as well.

The food is consistently good. I have to drive 20 miles, but it is well worth it.

The food was terrific. We had the catfish, shrimp, and chicken livers (some of the most tender I've ever had).

Stopped here after kayaking at bear creek. Let me tell you they have some of the best hush puppies I have ever had. Like they were so darn good. The catfish plate was great too! I would definitely recommend this place if you like a lil bit southern cooking.

You want fried CATFISH, with all the trimmings,
you have to try this place!! "THE" BEST Catfish and chicken strips you will ever get!! They give you so much on your plate!! This is our to-go-place!!! Call ahead, drive thru pick-up, or eat inside. These people know how to "Cook"!!!

Always go for fish plates. The fish, hush puppies, slaw are so delicious. Beats them all. Baked potatoes are also good and everything is always hot.

Wow, wow, wow. Everything is fantastic, catfish, shrimp, even the tartar and cocktail sauce are exceptional. Friendly staff and great places. We'll be eating here anytime we're through the area.

It's become our high bar to compare fried seafood to. we've traveled across the country and can say it's the best we've had.

We love eating here because they have the most delicious fish and chicken and their hushpuppies are THE BEST!! They give you plenty of food and now have an area where you can wait for your order to get done. This is one of our favorite places to eat fish!

Fantastic food fresh fish. Livers a special treat 3 or 4 bucks for more food than our two entrees. Order them on the side for a treat. Call ahead. The cars line up from locals who did. Awesome hush puppies and cole slaw too!

We love the smoked chicken, chicken livers, and fish tacos! During a time when good food and service is non-existent, this little hole in the wall is fantastic!

In Red Bay for RV work. Found this on search for restaurants near me. Some of the best catfish I've ever eaten. Very rustic. Served styrofoam plates and plastic untinsels but damn what a gtreg plave. Only open for lunch three days a eeek. I'll be back Wednesday!

The fish plate is awesome here but the smoked chicken tacos may even be better. The Fish Place has never disappointed.

Great catfish, super hush puppies, excellent baked potato. I eat here every time I am in town. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
