Hingham Historical Society

I highly recommend making a trip to this museum during your time in Hingham and taking one of the many tours offered. We did the deep dive colonial cart tour. It was focused on the arrival of colonists in Hingham and their interactions with the local tribes. We learned about Hobart, Faxter, Ebeneezer Gay, and King Phillips War. Our guide, Max, spoke in a loud, clear voice and seemed to know what he was talking about. There were also lots of cliffhangers enticing you to go on the other tours including ones covering the revolutionary war and the 19th century.

I visited the Benjamon Lincoln house in Hingham today. The tour was fantastic! Max, the guide, was very informative and his enthusiasm for sharing Higham history, was infectious. I look forward to returning and touring the upper floor.

The Hingham Heritage Museum is a must see whenever we have guests from out of town. The new cart tours that they offer are an excellent addition to what was already a wonderful set of offerings. We just went on the Hingham History Highlights tour which our guests loved and, even though I have lived in Hingham for 21 years, I learned so much. Our guide Max was excellent and was able to answer all of our questions and tailor the tour a bit to our particular interests.

We took the Hingham History Highlights tour on the golf cart and it was fabulous. Guide (Max) shared many, many great facts about the people and places we toured. I live in Hingham and learned so much more about this amazing historical town. Great for anyone interested in a semi-private colonial history tour experience.

Have lived in Hingham for years and the hingham history cart tour I have to say was a highlight. We took friends who were in town visiting and it was the perfect way to showcase our beautiful historic seaside town.

Great tour, very informative and interesting! The golf cart was perfect for extended family visiting from out of town.

Warmly welcomed by deeply knowledgeable and excellent storytelling docents. Magnificent pieces on display tell amazing history of transitional town through centuries as fishing, manufacturing, sea venturing all playing roles in development to today's strong community. Extensive gift shop at entrance accessible prior to admission. Definite "go-to!"

Very interesting meausame! It is really cool to see it all. The building itself is historic too! I really like what they did with the interior renovation! It all looks very nice!

Wow! For a small local museum, the artifacts and interpretation are incredible.
