Arbuckle Memorial Hospital: Emergency Room

I never done ER in Sulphur or anywhere for probably 30 years or more. Today I went to Arbuckle ER for treatment of a painful knee injury. It was 6:30am, dark and I parked in wrong lot so I had to hobble longer than I wanted, get more obvious ER sign, ugh.
The whole experience was fair superior to what I expected. Of course Covid safety was pleasantly rigid and made me feel like a person and not a potential covid attacker. Im 64 yrs old, 250lbs and 6’2” and limping with my wife's hobbit cane. They urgently wheeled me in and helped me as if my every move was pure pain for me. They were compassionate, friendly, laughed with me when my leg would not fit in the wheelchair. Made me feel like they could handle anything I threw at them. The treatment and referral for treatment was perfectly professional and efficient, of course I could hear their smiles in their voices and see it in their eyes and careful hands.

I am not accustomed to needing help for ANYTHING. I have a hard time asking for it, I felt like they read my mind and helped while allowing my dignity as a macho guy to stay in tact.

Thank you Dr. Lynn, all the 6:30am ER staff and the main entrance lady. You so seamlessly handled my urgent care needs. You have set a very high bar for my future expectations in medical care.

I went to the ER for abdominal pain a while back. They were abysmal, unfriendly, couldn’t stick an I.V. And then my I.V. breached during my CT scan. Only to be told by the doctor that I was making up my abdominal pain. After the CT scan he told me I had an ovarian cyst and nothing was wrong other than that. No colon problems or anything else to do with the digestive system like I suspected it would be. He was incredibly rude and demeaning the ENTIRE time and was convinced I was lying. The nurse came back and read the reported results of the CT and told me that I was also severely constipated. I then spent the next three days throwing up with severe diarrhea thanks to the contrast being injected straight into my arm. Worst medical related experience I’ve EVER had and now I owe thousands.

Literally would have to write paragraphs to explain how bad and slow this hospital is. I will leave it at I almost died from them not doing there job thoroughly my grandfather almost died for the same reason and every person you ask about the hospital has nothing good to say about it.hopefully new management can fix this place because it doesn't even deserve a 1 star.

This hospital should be called Death Memorial. My brother came to this ER on Wednesday 6th and they sent him home with Tylenol. On Friday the 8th he wasnt eating and having more problems, blood pressure low and was transported to this er and come to find out he had severe pneumonia and blood pressure was really low and was transferred to okc hospital. His kidneys start to shut down and blood pressure continue to drop. He died Saturday night. This hospital needs better staff and doctors who know what they are doing. He probably had pneumonia on Wednesday but they never even check on this. Please take your family or love ones to a different hospital. This place is the worse and I think if they had done a better job my brother would still be here with us.

Lady at the front window needs an attitude adjustment. I wouldn’t take my dog to get “treated” there.
