Lower Mills Tavern

Very very pleased with every aspect of Lower Mills. Reserving a table was really easy, service was super quick, and atmosphere was fantastic (great Christmas decorations). The mix drinks are very good and they make them pretty strong, prices are standard for the area (which isn’t low) but they don’t overcharge. Food was also priced reasonably and very good, the coleslaw and pickles on the sweet and hot chicken sandwich was phenomenal. If I had to add some negatives it would be that I think they could give slightly larger portions but I admit that’s being nitpicky. Awesome place to grab some drinks and bites with friends or go on a date, definitely a 5 star review and I will be coming back.

Also would like to add that we went on a Saturday for the live music and Brian Sances put on a great set, very skilled musician.

So happy I stumbled across this gem! I was looking for a good restaurant to frequent for date night, and we feel we certainly found it. The food is both flavorful and diverse, with options to satisfy every palate. What truly sets this place apart is its exceptional service – attentive, friendly, and always on point. From prompt water refills to genuine hospitality, our server was jake, and he certainly delivered on all our needs at customers. We can not wait to go back!

Had a great time at Lower Mills Tavern! The food was tasty, came out quick, and the service was awesome. Specifically my server Jake F was personable, very responsive, and made sure to tell the kitchen of my food allergies. Overall would highly recommend, and will be coming back for the service and food!

My partner and I regularly visit Lower Mills Tavern on Monday nights for their amazing dollar oyster deal, so I figured it’s about time I write a review! The service is excellent; Steph, Juliana, Cesar, Gia, Jam, and Jake ALWAYS go above and beyond to make sure our needs are taken care of, and we genuinely feel like family when we’re there. They’re so great at maintaining a classy and comfortable atmosphere at what has become our favorite local restaurant. The menu is seasonal, tasty, and satisfying, and the cocktails are superb. The venue itself is cozy, always decorated festively, and it’s awesome in the summer when the windows are opened. There’s also GREAT live music on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays by some of Boston’s best musicians. This is the best kept secret on Dorchester Ave and we plan on being regular patrons for years to come!

I'm so glad I discovered Lower Mills Tavern in Boston; it's quickly become one of my favorite spots for a delicious meal! The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, from classic comfort foods to inventive culinary creations. Plus, the relaxed atmosphere and attentive service make it the perfect place to unwind with friends or family.

My first time coming here and definitely not my last!! The food is delicious, comforting atmosphere, and my server Jake was attentive and very personable. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

October 2023- cute spot, cozy without being overdone and feels more upscale than a regular pub. Good date spot! I got the Cod Provencal (Ritz-crusted cod served over wild rice pilaf, caramelized mushrooms, tomatoes, and sautéed garlic rainbow chard finished with a white wine caper provencal). It was the best dish I’ve had out to eat in a while and very hearty for a cod dish. It was $28 which felt very reasonable. The picture I am posting doesn’t do it justice. It was SO delicious! I also got a side Caesar salad which was basic but good, overpriced at $5 though. We were able to find street parking pretty easily, but it was a weeknight and I imagine it is busier on the weekends. Recommend and would go back!

The bartender Lexi was great as well as the gentleman who might have been the manager, didn't catch his name but both were pleasant and good at their jobs. The food was great per usual, I've only come for brunch/lunch but never had a bad meal. One of my go to spots!

The 2 red head brother at the bar are awesome! Full of jokes and laughs! Great atmosphere! Food was great! Definetely will frequent more!

Warm, comfortable, family oriented style resturant with a neighborhood flare, is the way I would best describe LMT. It reminds me of Cheers. All are welcome.
The food menu is great and never stagnant. Drinks are affordable.

Our waitress Steph was awesome! 🥂 The drinks (autumn bounty and espresso martini) were incredible. The vibes were great, the service was awesome, we will be back for sure.

Lower Mills Tavern has the best burgers in the area, we also love the fries and caesar salad. The ambience of the restaurant is great, quiet and cozy on a Sunday night or louder on a Saturday night with live music. We always have great and quick service as well. Be sure to ask about the desserts - they’re delicious. Street parking can be tight on weekend nights, but you can also find parking on side streets or the CVS lot.

We've ordered a ton of take out from Lower Mils Tavern over the last year and the food is just as good as if I'm there, sitting at one of their large open windows tables. Chef Cara Nance takes such pride in changing up the menu often, leaving you excited about trying something new (like this photo, it was some sort of plum pudding made fresh!). I highly recommend the new truffled artichoke dip, Chicken Sandwich (trust me it's perfectly crispy) or stop in for an amazing brunch! I suggest following them on Instagram to see all of their mouth watering photos, as well as keeping up to date on their live music schedule.

I went on a Thursday evening and there was live music. The food was outstanding and so was the service. This is my daughter’s favorite place in Lower Mills for great food and reasonable prices which is a huge compliment as the neighborhood has many fantastic places to eat and offers several types of cuisines. Love that the huge widows are open when the weather permits.

This place is one of the best restaurants in the area. We love their weeekend brunch menu.
