Star Market

Redone beautifully since I haven't been there in years. Lots of employees, well stocked with specials from the flyer unlike other markets.

I love shopping here from flowers to grocery ,sushi,cold salad and fried chicken it’s very organized and clean and the staff was very good .

Customer service is always great! Teddy in the La Carte department had the whole store smelling so DELICIOUS 😋... Fried or baked chicken both are top notch on the go... can't forget the potato wedges, best around since KFC!

I love the staffs. I forgot my root beer and on my way to parking lot but the staff still chased me and brought my root beer for me. Thank you ❤.

Have been a client for years, both at their Brookline and at their Dorchester locations.
Prices may not be the cheapest around (Still way better than Whole Foods), but their deals and electronic coupons are GREAT. And if something with the coupons doesn't work, their staff always make sure to solve the issue.
Yes, some staff may be friendlier than other, but who hasn't had a tough long day?
In the end, they deserve the 5 stars.

How often do you write about the best Market that’s been so special over the years? Mitch, in the meat dept is such an outstanding Butcher - his care and attention are unequaled! On Valentines Day Mitch assembled the most wonderful beef tenderloin that was trimmed and tied. It made a spectacular meal ! Same with Bob in the fish market - special attention to detail and always gives me the very best. Hats off to Star Market and 5 Stars to Mitch and Bob!! (and the meat and fish departments!)

Shelves were fully stocked the day Mass was declared in a state of emergency due to Corona. Very impressed!

They have a the greatest staff. They are always busy keeping the store filled with all. The items I've come to love. Not too me mention it

This location is not so big but seems like well stocked. Parking appears to be not enough. But I liked shopping there. View from the parking lot was nice during this fall afternoon.

They need a little more help in the deli department. Other than that the store is great. I drive a good distance to go there and pass other grocery stores, because I like it that much.

I find Star Market to be pretty good. I will never use their Starbucks. They are much more expensive than any other in the area.
Shopping at a certain time will give you more access to their butcher and whole cooked chickens. I tend to shop too early for it. But I find the Deli counter to extremely helpful. The cashiers very pleasant. It is a pretty pleasant experience.

They are improving the store everyday and the staff is professionally friendly and always accommodating

I find quite a bit of items I have manufacture coupons for here Very good customer service at this location also. They recently acquired a self checkout where I was directed to and greeted by a very pleasant employee named (Sydney), who not only scanned my items but displayed care when placing them in the checkout area in a manner so carefully with certain items, and altogether neatly with my entire purchase. Thank you Sydney!!(Let no one steal your joy) I appreciate your humble professionalism as I'm sure your employer does too especially during these Covid-19 times.🙂

The store is clean and well stocked. The o ly issue I have is getting things like Japanese sweet potatoes and green bananas.

Great little store. Very fine employees, super helpful! Shout out to Lashonda at the help desk who was extremely professional, polite and patient with a problem that required we review the entire receipt. She was amazing and saved me over $20. Thank you Lashonda!

Best meat deals. 4 inch thick steaks $3.97/LB. WoW. Mangoes golden yellow/Red Cuz they took the time to warm them up as the sun would've in the Tropics. Diligent attention to detail appreciated. Very helpful Customer Service Dept.

Star Market is a New England chain of supermarkets based in Greater Boston. It was owned by the Mugar family and started in 1915. The company was sold to The Jewel Companies, Inc. in 1964 and later to Investcorp, which in turn sold the chain to Shaw's Supermarkets. As stores were remodeled, many adopted the Shaw's name, leaving only a handful of Star Market stores operating by the late 2000s. In 2008, Shaw's began to revive the name, a trend which was expedited after the parent company of both chains was sold to Cerberus Capital Management. Today, both Shaw's and Star Market are administered as a single division.
