Loved this place! Right downtown among the historic square. Al's history was a good read - quite the entrepreneur!
I had their Friday Fish Special. Yum! 2 huge pieces of catfish, cooked Louisiana style, crispy + spicy! Homemade fries and the portions were Huge! I loved the presentation on the platters and the simple boojie sports bar feel of the place! TVs all over, and Karoke was setting up just as I was leaving. Ericka, the bartender, was efficient + friendly. I also met AL, and he's all the personality that they say and more - just a Great, super friendly local guy! 😋👍👍🫶

First time here and it was great! I was referred by a friend and looked at their reviews and said I’ll give them a try and honestly this place deserves more than a 3.8 out of 5 it deserves a 5 out of 5 stars because the service was like no other, the young lady was super helpful and too care of me and my friends and was super helpful to make sure to get us the right answer for our food. Also the food was honestly worth every bite! From the fries the Big Al’s burger with egg and brisket! It’ll be something I drive an hour again for! Highly recommend if your in the Waxahachie area!

My wife and I come here every Sunday for the breakfast tacos (bacon is top tier, real bacon not the bacon bits) and the football. Megan behind the bar is phenomenal and always gives great service. For 10$ you get 3 LOADED tacos that I’ve never been able to finish. Give it a shot and you won’t be disappointed.

Appetizers are good. We like the bacon jalapenos and onion rings. Chips and salsa. Burgers are real good, beef patties taste great. Service was a bit of a let down only one serving. Drink cups too small for my taste. Kinsey's was excellent for amount of guest she had. Thank you. We will be back to try other menu items.

We tried this for the first time and it was amazing. Kaylie was our server and recommended to me the sloppy Joe and it was great. My boyfriend doesn't like sloppy Joe's and loved it. The fired pickles and stuffed Jalapeños were a must. But I cannot say enough about the service. She was great. A birthday party came in and the party was rude. Like they wanted our table and the staff did not rush us to leave. We will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere, great food!!! We had fun teasing our server, Maygan. She was a very good sport!!! Big Al, you have done well with this place!!

Have the best time Saturday night. Myself, and my crew of ten people had so much fun with the band atmosphere. Our server MISTAN 🥰 was out, standing. Hi Harley recommended especially for a group of people

I surprised my guy with family and friends on his birthday, the wait staff was so nice and helpful with the setup. Big Al ~ great guy, funny and LOVES BLAKE SHELTON.
The food is reasonably priced/drinks as well. Live music, fun place to eat and chill with friends on the weekend…you will not be disappointed

If you like fun, music, good drinks and good food. Definitely make it to downtown waxahachie Texas to Big Al's down the hatch. Weekend nights they have live bands that are off the hook.

Love the vibes! Karaoke night was fun, also went to brunch on Saturday, where you can make your own mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. The food doesn’t disappoint and the prices on everything are reasonable. So neat because we Got to meet the Big Man himself, he was the most friendliest and down to earth.They offer alot of merch as well, they have everything from hats,shorts,sweatshirts as well as shot glasses and beer glasses and many more worth purchasing. Definitely a place to drop in anytime and have a great experience

I went here for a Chamber networking event. They served wings for appetizers+ the lemon pepper were my favorite.

The atmosphere was great, especially when the live music started later that evening.

I also noticed they had an event room off to the side of you want to reserve it for a special occasion.

Good vibes at this place. I'll be back. 😉

Absolutely loved Big Al's Down The Hatch on our visit this time. 1st the Service was awesome, the food has improved 200%, I loved the brunch menu, it was not over complicated it was perfect. Hubby and I enjoyed the Bloody Mary Bar and they also have Mimosas and Sangria for their brunch. I know Big Al is really taking a vested interest in this location as we and family members see him here all the time. Our daughter said they do an awesome job on Karaoke Night also. We will definitely be returning back.

1st time visiting this place. We live in the city and not often we get to get out of city much. Came down for antique alley so decided to try this place out. I reviewed other people's comments and disagree. These people just want high end service. I travel and work in smaller towns alot and the tend to be a hit differe t than the city restaurants which is not bad. People are just not use to it. Our server was amazing. It was very busy but yet she attended to everyone well. The atmosphere was amazing. I love to people watch and see how the workers sre with eachother as I have been in this business industry before and
Customer service and atmosphere is important to me. All the workers even the bussers checked on you to ensure their was nothing we needed. They all helped eachother out a d were so positive and happy. It was our anniversary weekend and this by far was one of the best places we aye mainly because of the amazing atmosphere. The food was also good we had the onion rings, brisket sandwich and wings. Back in the city you don't see this often. People are worried about themselves and not offering that teamwork environment. Everyone was so friendly even the people that came in. I would give this place a 10 star if I could. Their is no hostess so yes its the type of restaurant you seat yourself. So if your used to being boujjiee and having the carpet rolled out to you then thisnis not your place. Cause they don't deserve any bad reviews. But if you want a place with good atmosphere, to watch the game, good food and friendly people this is your place. I would definitely visit again.

It was so wonderful. The atmosphere was perfect. Al, he came over and personally talked and took care of us. The food was very good too.

Came in on a Friday evening with a 16 person group. They were prepared, happy to see us, and took care of our every need with a smile.

The food was great, prepared well, and it all came out at the same time so we were able to really eat together. The staff were very professional and anticipated all of our wants and needs.

You have to try the BIG soft pretzels! Also Big Al's Balls are good too!

Came here for the first time yesterday! The food was delicious! Omg y’all. The waffle was AMAZING!! It tasted like Birthday cake. The sweet & spicy mayo was a great compliment for it. Can’t wait to go back again!! Next time I’m going to try the wings. They had some sauces that I definitely wanted to try.

Birthday party. Really good food. Service wasn't all that great. Servers forgot a vouple of dishes. Over all was okay. Band didn't come at the time they said they would be on.

Didn't get to stay long because they closed at midnight, but I did get to have a drink and hear some really good music! The people who were there were having a great time, and the bartenders were friendly as well! I used to go to Big Als in Uptown and have been wanting to visit his new location for years! I'm so glad I finally did! I'll be back soon.
