Food was delicious. Portions were just right for the price. The best sweet tea ever. Staff is very friendly.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend, and so glad we did! Started iff with complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa was different than we've had but really liked it. Ordered a Montyerey Melt, with fries and onion rings and the special Mexican plate. That plate comes with a couple of beef or chicken enchiladas, a taco, rice, beans, and a choice of chicken fried steak or two pieces of fried chicken. Different combinations, but I guess that's considered Tex-Mex? Whatever, the chicken fried steak was delicious, smothered in white gravy. The Mexican food was good, but we would have liked some sauce for a little extra flavoring. Now for the Monterey Melt - absolutely delicious! It has two enormous patties of well-seasoned ground beef, covered with melted Swiss cheese and grilled onions. Mmmm! Nicely toasted bread for the bun, and I was set for the night and for lunch the next day! Homemade onion rings and fresh French fries to die for. Our servers were excellent, even offering me a to-go cup of ice tea! Love this place and will recommend it to all!

We’ve been coming to Monterrey Cafe for many years now. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from But… we ultimately end up back here. We love the food! Not only does it taste good but the serving size is perfect. The staff always greets us with a smile even if extremely busy. My wife loves their salsa and chips and i like it all but my go to is the panchos with fajitas. Thank you Monterrey cafe for the outstanding service!!!💜💜💜

Being Chicano I am vouching for this place for the best menudo I've come across at a restaurant. The meat was cooked to perfection! The broth had just the right flavor. For some reason I had to ask for cilantro and oregano but they brought it to me promptly. The corn tortillas were certainly made fresh. Topped a big bowl off with a barbacoa taco. It's always a good sign when there is a line of people waiting to get in and most of them are elderly! I will come to this Cafe every time I am in town now. Loved the small hole in the wall experience. Don't miss this one if you're close bye...

Always get my cheeseburger , French fries with gravy and a dinner roll. The wait staff is always welcoming and friendly

Friendly staff, mixed fajita nachos were good but could have been better due to beef fajitas were a bit burned and chicken was overly seasoned. But will definitely go back to try more items. The menu has a big selection from Mexican food, to fried chicken, to chicken fried steak and burgers.

Love this place regularly, but i ordered rolls for Thanksgiving i wanted to say i made them but everyone was like are these rolls from Monterrey Cafe 😅 they all knew where they were from

Great mix of Tex Mex and American Food. You'll get French fries or onion rings with your Mexican plate along with beans and rice like with a Burger Plate. Lots of protein plates.
