We had to call animal control after two intact billy goats destroyed our flowerbeds, trees and front porch. We had tried to find the owner all night. Animal control came out in mid morning, were incredibly gentle with the animals. The officer had to lift the animals into the back and believe me they stunk horribly. The officer was very kind and friendly. They do not get paid enough.

A pet duck ended up in my yard with a broken leg and maybe wing. When I called, the dispatcher was very professional on the phone and sent and officer quickly. They officer came so fast! She was nice with the duck and put it in a cage quickly and took it away. Very good service!

I’ve worked with animal control several times and they’ve been very helpful, my most recent encounter was I found a chicken in my yard. They didn’t have a place to impound it for now so he helped me look. Knocked on a few houses and they ended up finding the owner. Wish I had called them sooner to help me look. Would have found them even quicker!

So thanks for helping people find their lost animals!

I wish I could give them more stars. My mom’s dog got out and she couldn’t find him. I was out of state and couldn’t help. I contacted animal control and Officer Lay responded. He worked all day to look for him and kept in touch with me via telephone multiple times during the day. He found him towards the end of the day but my mom wasn’t home. He worked with me to try and find a neighbor to take him so he would t have to spend the night in puppy jail. I can’t say thank you enough to him. He does a fabulous job!!

I had a bird in my chimney. I called all the pest control places in town and none would help me. Animal control showed up ten minutes after I called, had the bird out alive fifteen minutes after that, IDed it for me, and took it away to let it loose on the mountain.

I called about a duck at my kids' school that didn't seem well. She looked sick or possibly injured, not wanting to move much. I knew she might be fine, but called just in case. It didn't take at all long for the officer to get there, but by that time, the dang duck had decided to stroll through the playground and peck around for food. In other words, she seems fine. They told me they couldn't do anything unless the animal appears to be irreparably injured, so I just wish they'd told me that on the call so I didn't waste the officer's time. They were kind about it though.

We had a stray cat come into our yard a few weeks ago. Being kind-hearted, we began feeding him. When it became clear that he was not getting along with our other two cats (fixed male and female) we decided to take him to the Humane Society. Come to find out that they cannot accept stray cats, only cats that are surrendered pets. I think this is because they charge $25 to surrender a pet cat. Called Animal Control, and he said that all he can do with strays is to take them, and then release them elsewhere! How does this fix the problem? We will not do that, so we have a new family member.

Why are they so rude?? Genuinely wondering that.

I’ve called animal control on 4 separate occasions and they’ve only ever told me to handle the situation myself. Absolutely useless. I’ve called several times about loose dogs running around in the roads. I was told that because they belonged to someone that they couldn't pick them up but that i could take them to the pound myself where they could contact the owner. And I just made a call about wild turkeys hanging out on my street and in front of my front door. And they said they couldn’t do anything because they were wild. But i saw animal control pick up a wild turkey literally 2 days ago.

I just called them this evening about a three legged dog running around my neighborhood. I got connected to non emergency they told me no one on animal control was on duty and they wouldn't be able to send anyone until tomorrow morning. I hope the poor dog finds there way home or at least doesn't freeze to death tonight.

A couple years ago had my kitten stolen and knew who did it and contacted animal control. They knew my kitten had been stolen and still did nothing about it. Just recently had a stray cat around where I live have a litter of kittens that I couldn’t take care of and contacted animal control to find out they won’t do anything. A completely useless department that is rude, lazy, and incompetent. I wish the humane society would be more willing to take care of animals but it has to go through animal control that don’t care about animals or you. They would rather have every animal dead on the side of the road than do literally anything. What a worthless department.

My niece and nephew were over and let my dog out by accident, I was clearly running after him in the park right out side my backyard when animal control stopped by. I talk to them and she stated she would let it slide this time since there has not been any problems in the past as long as I registered my dog. I just got a letter in the mail for the cost of my ticket that she never even mentioned.

Found a stray cat while on a hike, so we took it in to the shelter. The shelter told us they couldn't accept strays and that we would need to call animal control. Animal control told us it wasn't their job to take in strays (ie: control animals), and that we should "put her back where we found her". Meanwhile, it's below freezing every single night out here. Leaving this cat where we found her would be a literal death sentence. Not sure how it works in other places, but I can say with confidence that Logan city animal control is about as useful as a sack of dead cats. Not that that matters to them.

They don’t actually care about animals. Called about a bunch of baby ducks and their mom being in the middle of the parking lot with the babies continually falling into the sewer. They came and took the babies and left the mom. She’s been flying around the parking lot for hours looking for her babies. Heartbreaking

Don't worry people of Logan. Animal Control will respond to any call... as long as it's after 10AM. There was a loose pit bull running around making people nervous. Called in about 8:30 and I they told me was to hope the dog finds its home. Good thing the pit was super friendly or there might have been real issues.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have a
four-plex unit and a family of skunks nested underneath the utility shed in the yard. I called and spoke to Oscar who claimed to be in charge. He told me he only had one cage left and he THINKS he put it in the general area of the skunks but not sure and used nacho cheese sauce from his truck as bait. He told me if I wanted to go buy other cages myself to do so or to just hire an exterminator. I’m just wondering why we pay taxes for animal control services in Logan. If they expect people to handle animal issues themselves then we should do away with the department altogether. Maybe if they realized they would be out of a job they would start doing it.
