Had the unfortunate luck of loosing a transmission seal east of Sonora, but was able to limp it in to town. Once there I had the fortunate luck of finding Castilleja Auto Repair. Once they opened up, they were able to diagnose the problem. The next problem was finding the replacement seal. Luckily for me they have a deep source of contacts and were able to have one delivered that afternoon and get me back on the road. Took some time, but thanks to the dogged determination of the team, they showed me their dedication to the customer. The out the door price was fair to boot!

Stopped for the night in Sonoma camp ground started truck to go fuel up for next travel day (it's Sunday) truck said emmision service required 75 miles to 65mph max) Monday morning called Mundo could tell he didn't have time for me, but he prioritized me! That night truck running awesome ( wires had been cut?) next morning problem came back ( dang critter ate one of the replaced sensors again) he got me on the road by 1 pm

Fast, extremely helpful, and their parts & labor seemed reasonable. I hope to never need them again, but I'd recommend them to anyone in need. I got stuck on the side of the Hwy and gave them a call for repairs on my trailer. They were able to get me in contact with a tow truck faster than my road side assistance and then had everything ready to go once I arrived.

Several (mechanics) came upto us at the gas station and offered to (fix) our truck which was smoking from the engine. We were told the truck needed everything from freezer plug repair to cracked manifold!! They wanted us to get our vehicle towed to them and said they would need to keep it for 7 days!! Beware of scammers in this town!

Mando from Castilleja's immediately found the problem.. a simple fix of a heater house. He had it fixed in a matter of minutes with very fair prices. It's a family run business. Extremely nice, honest family. We were so impressed with this company that we decided to stay in town one more night to give them the opportunity to fix a few other things we had been putting off because we were so far from home.

Drove 1,100 miles to visit my son. 2nd day I found a fuel leak that I could drive with but needed fixed as soon as I arrived. They knew the exact problem when I called. They were willing to order parts before I got there ( I opted to just drop it off. Didn't have a time requirement) They got the parts in (after a lengthy back and forth with the dealership part depart for the right part, 2005 chevy) than came in on a Saturday because when they dropped the gas tank the vent line was busted too. Excellent job!! Had no hesitation to drive the 1,100 miles home. Bonus points for not treating me like a person with no clue about cars because I'm female ❤ absolute respect and recommend 💯

My RV broke a Leaf Spring while I was on a return trip from Phoenix. Armando had the parts I needed in stock and lended me the tools needed to tend too a relativily routine DIY repair. Awesome mechanic in a time of need!!!

We needed to get our RV inspected while traveling and had been turned away by over a dozen spots between Alpine and Austin. These guys not only said they could do it but were super fast, kind, and we were in and out easily. We are very thankful for them after being disappointed by so much incorrect information listed on the Texas DPS website about inspections available elsewhere.

Our truck broke down in the middle of nowhere, Catilleja were the first ones willing to look at it quickly, then correctly diagnosed the problem, then towed it to a dealer for us (because of an active recall on the part). Super helpful and nice the entire time.

Called for a broken leaf spring on 5th wheel RV. They sent one person over to the fuel station I was at as the trailer could not be moved due to tires rubbing, looked at it and left to see if they had the part, short while latter two workers showed up replaced the broken spring and was back on the road in about two hours. Price was very reasonable.

My car broke down while I was on a caravan to Phoenix. We had to leave my car with Armando until I came back a week later. He communicated well and was even willing to meet me on a Sunday. Really appreciate an honest mechanic in a time of need!

After driving from N Cali on my way to Florida, I faced a bad rain storm for a day and half. My alternator went out.
I was stranded on the highway in a cold rain for 3 hr. I got saved by a man and pulled my car for 26 mi.
I ended at CASTILLEJA AUTO REPAIR.
IT IS AN AMAIZING FAM OWNED BUSINESS.
Everyone so kind, very polite, professional and experts!
2 mechanics told me I was going to be ok for 3000 mi.
Well, that was not the case!
They prioritized my urgency although they were fully booked 3 wk out.

Highly recommend Armando and his crew! Our motorhome broke down coming into Sonora. Our tow vehicle had a problem also. We had to leave our tow vehicle but they got us back on the road the next day! Thank you!

We got stuck with an RV drain plumbing problem. The mechanic took a look at it and admitted he did not have experience in it. But he looked at it for a few minutes and figured it out and put it back together for us. We could not have been more happy. Very nice service and mechanic who really knows how to fix things. Highly recommended.

Driving through Texas my vehicle electric started to acting up. Stoped by some local businesses that directed me to this shop. Friendly and very helpful people got me back on the road in no time….. thank you for your professionalism

I highly recommend these guys I was having car trouble headed back to San Antonio and luckily I broke down in front of their shop. They were able to help me diagnose it, fix it temporarily and get me back home.

Armando and his father repaired our Chevy Express Van, even though it was after hours. They went above and beyond in their customer service because due to the size of our vehicle, the needed parts were located in nearby San Angelo. Armando and father traveled to San Angelo, and repaired our vehicle promptly. After repair, our Van ran better than ever!!! Hopefully we won't be stranded on IH-10 again, but if we are, we will use them again. We highly recommend their work. Great people, great family.

Life savers. We were traveling/hauling with our travel trailer from San Antonio to AZ when the turbo in our 350 went out. A friendly person recommended CAR to us. Instead of just solving the immediate problem of a faulty turbo he fully inspected the truck. He was very informative, helpful and courteous. The truck worked great on the way to AZ and we got safely home to Chicago area.
