Was in town camping and had to try a local place.. great food!!!

Are you camping? Tired of eating sandwiches, peanuts, etc. This is your place, the food is delicious, prepared with love. Simple on the outside, delicious on the inside.

Biggest best omelet I've ever had. Fabulous spicy oily American fries. I was surprised at the size of the cafe and impressed by the two U-shaped sit-at counters. Excellent friendly service (few customers at the time). One photo is the alignment of wind turbines with the main street of Shabbona. Shabbona also is a train watchers haven. The is a nice state park nearby as well. Bring a small boat or fishing pole.

Not a coffee drinker but loved their cappachino. It was just perfect.
Super soft pancakes and swedish cakes.
Our host was also very nice, she was able to make a delicious veg sandwich for us even though it was not in their menu.
Worth stopping by. Definitely coming back.

Excellent cafe right in beautiful downtown Shabbona staff is extremely friendly the decor is wonderful and the food is delicious there is a huge variety of options for breakfast and lunch type foods comes out fast and hot good amount of parking available on street and in nearby lots. This is a great place highly recommended if you are in the area

Small town cafe with large portions. Love their breakfast!

The breakfast menu is pretty typical for a cafe in a small town, which isn't a bad thing at all. Our food was excellent and came out quickly. Friendly service and the place was more spacious than I had anticipated. Great prices for the amount of food you get, too. We'll be back!

Stopped on way home from a weekend road trip, first time being here. Food was amazing, we had the meat lovers omelet and fried egg sandwich! Food came out perfectly cooked, restaurant clean, and staff was nice!

This place is a local stop for me and I stop in whenever possible. The food is always good, and the service and atmosphere are great. I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner over all the times I have stopped in and it is all great with lots of options for everyone.

Just Wow. drove 7 miles off I-39 for breakfast. What a great move. Yes, local place, yes great service, yes good food. But. but Great food! My wife's eggy biscuit looked good and she said was very good. My Mexican skillet was fantastic. Base of American fries with bell and jalapeno peppers. And chorizo!! It was as good as from my own skillet on a laid-back Sunday morning. I will try to recreate this dish!! Great service. We will take this 7 mile trip again!!

If I could give a higher rating I would! Great customer service, great food, and great atmosphere. The portions are huge, so make sure your hungry! I ordered the Denver omelet. The pepper and onions chunks were so fresh and delicious! I can't wait to go back!

I was there on a Friday afternoon. It wasn’t busy at that time. The food was outstanding! I think they are still hand pressing the burgers and the vegetable soup had to be homemade since it was so chock full of all kinds of veggies. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. They are the true definition of a small town cafe.

I don’t often post reviews, but this cafe was excellent. I went here for lunch with 3 of my children and a friend, and everything from the service to the food was top notch. Prices were very good for generous portions of tasty food. Even the cole slaw was delicious (a rare compliment from 3 kids). If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back to the Shabbona Cafe.

Mounds of tasty food, lots of choices, folksy atmosphere, attentive service and super reasonable prices make this a favorite stop for us when visiting the nearby state park. Lunches include the usual burgers, melts and sandwiches but also gyros, dips, wraps and a luscious thing called a roll. A generous bowl of soup or salad is included.
