Hillside Restaurant

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! When I lived in Illinois I used to go here with my family and order "chicken fingers the old way". The food here is excellent and the atmosphere is calm and very beautiful. I always have positive experiences with the owners and the staff. Whenever I fly back put to Illinois I always make sure I eat here. I highly recommend you try this restaurant for yourself!

This is a nice, retro, family restaurant. The food is clearly mostly homemade instead of just trucked in pre-prepared and reheated. The chicken parmigiana was much better than I expected. I normally don’t like meat spaghetti sauce, but there’s was hearty and had a good beef flavor to it. Large portions. We also had friendly service. Check it out.

We arrived just after breakfast. It was nice and quiet. Server was nice. Food was great!

I love this place. It's the quintessential small town restaurant. Super friendly. Great, home cooked meal. It's our got-to place for special occasions -graduations, family visiting, etc. Don't go to Chili's (ours is gross anyway). Support a fantastic local business!!

It is a great place to have a nice old fashioned sit down family meal. Nothing is rushed. The food is great. The service is attentive, but slow paced, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere where you can have a long conversation removed from the hustle and bustle outside. It has been a favorite of mine for years. I have tried a lot on the menu, from the wedge salad to the trout dinner and have never been disappointed, and you won't be either.

My wife and I had dinner there for the first time and it is a fantastic restaurant. Very cozy, soft lighting, and quiet atmosphere. Our server was courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He came around enough to give excellent service but wasn't over bearing. Great food and drinks! We would absolutely go there again! You should try it at least once....you won't be disappointed.

Perfect place to go on a first date. Cute little place, very cozy vibe. Our server was very nice and made sure we were doing good. Food was delicious. I had the stuffed chicken breast, my date had the meatloaf. We were both very satisfied with the quality of our dinner. Had their homemade chocolate cake for dessert, i gotta admit to me it tasted better than portillo's, especially because it was served with vanilla ice cream. Definitely coming back

This place is absolutely wonderful. Had a lovely evening in a quiet restaurant. We were one of 2 or three tables when we arrived. Had to bring the baby with us, but it was so small and intimate a setting it was really no problem. Server was very attentive. Food was homey with a varied menu from the usual small restaurant.

Best waiter ever. Knew everything about the menu the wines and beers and did it so fluently and professional with a ton of enthusiasm. The soup and bread started us off perfectly and finished with amazing shrimp Alfredo and chicken Jaeger snitzel (sp) that were both season and cooked beautifully. The portions were massive so we had plenty to take home. All in all a wonderful experience!

Massive menu and fantastic service. The Hillside is a great family venue with upscale wines and craft beers. There is a seasonal menu that rotates with the seasons, Octoberfest was what was being served when I went. Lots of options with steak, salmon, pasta, sandwiches and lots of old school favorites like Turkey pot pie (my favorite) and meatloaf or pot roast. The service was fantastic and our server Kendall knew everything about the menu beers and wines. 6 stars! Love this place!

My son and I had Thanksgiving dinner. It included turkey , dressing, sweet potato and butternut squash, choice of soup or salad served with two types of delicious bread. Ordered pumpkin pie for dessert that tasted homemade with just the right spices. It was very crowded so lots of folks enjoyed!

Richly warm and quietly cozy with a wonderful wood grain decor, the evening here was so perfect that we completely skipped the smash movie that we planned to attend and stayed in the restaurant to absorb more Ambience, enjoy the evening, and have some dessert. Sounds, sights, smells, and satisfaction of a great meal allowed us to enjoy each other and make an incredibly great memory

Delicious comfort food and excellent service. In Covid-times their menu is a bit more limited, so I miss a couple of my favorites, but I highly recommend the Beef Stroganoff, and they still have their wonderful lasagna, both beef and vegetarian.

Took my son and his girlfriend to dinner. Did have to wait since we didn't make a reservation...wait wasn't terrible...about 10 minutes. Had the chicken pot pie, & chicken saltimboucca...they were delish! Finished with the caramel apple pie...out favorite we often a whole pie to take home...more amazing with ice cream!

I’ve been here several times and am always happy. The food is great and the service is excellent.

Rather than coming by every 5 to 10 minutes to top off your coffee, they leave you a whole pot of it! The service and food are always great here . Good place to have breakfast(on days available) and lunch . Will definitely come back for more weekend breakfast meals.

We enjoyed our food. It was w cute little place. Everyone was very friendly. The food was exceptional. The only thing i had a problem was the bathroom very small.

Great food , service and atmosphere. Portions were ample and food was delicious. Nice selection of dishes from sea food to pasta and steaks, chicken and even schnitzel. Recommended!!

The food is always excellent. Great place to order a nice meal. Salad and bread come with the meal and make it a full experience. The deserts are also excellent.
