The Pizza Peel

The atmosphere here was great. It was comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. I wasn't sure what to expect as the outside doesn't give off the same impression as the actual restaurant. The food was great, I got a chicken salad. The wings and pizza were all good too! I would definitely recommend.
The only negative was the service, our waitress never checked in after delivering the food, I had to find her just for a refill. She presented as if she was bothered to be serving us.

Food was excellent, some of the best pizza around for sure. The downstairs locale was cozy and a great little place to grab a meal and eat with friends. Prices were fair, service quick and friendly. Ordered the "Combo" pizza, which is their version of a Supreme and it didn't dissapoint.

Choose between Hand tossed and thin crust with gluten free crust and vegan cheese options available. Calzones are enormous! Many good options for everyone. A must try when in Lacon.

We finally made it to the Pizza Peel. We had the hand tossed Kitchen Sink (everything) pizza and a calzone. This place is an institution in the region. Go now.

The only complaint, is the soda didn't quite taste right. May just need calibration adjusted. :)

Had my first Pizza here. It was a Kitchen Sink. AWESOME!!!

We were passing through town and stopped in for dinner. All I can say is, this pizza tastes the way pizza is supposed to taste! So good! Friendly fast service and clean dining room. Well worth trying! ❤

Its always been a hidden gem, the pizza has excellent every time we've been there and the desert calzones are awesome! My greatest hope is that the bridge being closed won't deter people from a nice dining experience. And seeing Corey the magician on Friday was a fun addition too!

Excellent pizza!

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time, as we live 40 minutes away. We made a day of it, ordered a couple small pizzas and watched the sun set on the Illinois River. What a great night out.

I ordered the kitchen Sink on thin crust and she ordered sausage and onion on thin crust. They were both amazing. Great flavor, plentiful toppings, and outstanding sauce and crust. The staff was like a bunch of busy working bees all in harmony pumping out an unbelievable amount of pizzas. The constant flow of patrons never stopped coming. Our wait was minimum and our pizzas were hot out of the oven. We will be returning! Thank you Pizza Peel and we will be telling everyone we know about your product. If in town, be sure to stop at the Popcorn Shoppe (caddy corner and across the street) to grab a couple bags of their delicious and many flavors.

First time at the Pizza Peel and I forgot to take pictures! Since I'm not a local I didn't know exactly where to go in (up, down, wherever?) but down is the correct answer. Kristen was our waitress and provided excellent service. Since the wife and I had never been, we took her recommendations. Maybe a bit overboard with cheese bread, two small pizzas and a calzone. Eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies but the food was excellent. Food did take awhile (not bad) to get to the table, but it was a very busy Friday night. It's a bit far from home but we will definitely be back. Great job guys!

I had a large group eat there. The food was good, and the service was fast. Of all the pizzas I tried, I liked the pepperoni. There was a fun gentleman there doing card tricks for everyone. It was a hit with my group. I also got to meet the owner, who was very friendly. Overall, highly recommended.

We all had Calzones. They were huge, and cooked to perfection like an artist!

A co-worker of mine swears by their pizza. So I decided to take my Mom to lunch, and we hit the road today, and drove 45mns to experience the hidden pizza gem of Lacon. Pleased to say, it did not disappoint. The cheese bread was delicious! She got half Kitchen Sink and half Italian Beef and loved it. I got the All Natural w/ Jalapenos. Both were hand tossed, and we will certainly visit again.

This is a local favorite! We always order the Mediterranean Pizza! The owner is a great guy who always is giving back to the community and who was amazing with our kids on a Homeschool Field Trip a year ago! Once, a local magician even entertained the kids while we were waiting for our order! The food is delicious, the small-town atmosphere and friendliness are perfect!

Very well done, best pizza I have had in a while

Can't say enough about this place. Small hometown pizza joint. Personally we think it's the best pizza anywhere near here. We prefer the thin crust. Cheesy Garlic bread is awesome. Chocolate calzone is stupid good. They even have a table magician named Cory who walks around on Thursday night (6pm) and does amazing tricks at your table. TIP THE MAGICIAN!! Every once in a while service is a bit slow if they are busy but it's worth it. I can't imagine you won't love this place.
