Just hiked the 100 mile wilderness with a friend and had a great time. Phil was a huge help! He showed us additional camping options on a map, resupplied us half way through and shuttled us back to his place when we finished. His place in Monson is special. It's quiet and clean with showers, a kitchen and a lounge area. I highly recommend Phil if you are looking to hike in that area. Thanks Phil!!

Phil is awesome! His cabins are clean, showers are hot, and Phil is so helpful!
My friend and I stayed here last summer the night before our trip. Phil delivered us to the trailhead the next morning, giving us some insight and humor about the trails during the car ride!
Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It has been a dream of mine for several years to hike the 100 mile wilderness. When I was print it all together to make it happen I found this website full of great info that helped me pack and prep. On top of that, Phil, the owner provides shuttle service to the other end of the trail, had private cabins, or bunk houses, a shower house, community kitchen and Lounge and offers rescue pick-up up up if for some reason you cannot finish the trail. Phil was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. To anyone wanting to hike the 100 mile, I really couldn't recommend a better service, or place to stay.

Had an amazing trip! A friend and I hiked in the 100 mile wilderness for 7 days. Meeting Phil, our host, made my trip even better. We stayed at one of his cabins and he took care of all our shuttling and resupply needs. People like Phil is one of unexpected joys of hiking the AT. Thanks again Phil!

I used 100 Mile Wilderness Adventures for my hike through the 100 mile wilderness. Phil Pepin, the owner, was extremely helpful in planning the hike and arranging the shuttle and food drop. The cabins and showers were clean and nice. It was a great place to just relax. His location is within walking distance into town on the same road as Shaw's Hiker Hostel, so you are close to supplies and dining. I would call it a more peaceful, quieter, more adult option for hikers and adventurers. Although I was excited to start hiking, I left wishing I had a few more days to read and relax in the cabins.

Our group of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a fantastic adventure hiking through the 100 Mile Wilderness, but we couldn't have dome it without Phil! The information and annotated maps he provided helped us plan the trip and the resupply points that he arranged meant our packs were far more manageable to carry. Along the way he provided the comfort of knowing that he could extract us if needed and at the end he arranged transportation back to our start point at his camp, which is beautiful. Thanks Phil! You helped make our adventure a reality.

I have been here 3 times and will be back again.
The place is always good and each year gets better. Phil is a great host and has a wonderful property. You can leave his place and get directly onto the appalachian trail to enjoy scenic views and exercise.
A great place to come back from a hike too.
Pop, beer, and a HOT shower with plenty of water, not to mention a comfortable and clean (and it smells good) cabin. I love thru hikers but when I'm done, I don't want to smell it for days.
He will also prepare you for the hike you want to do with great advice. Most importantly, as everyone I have met there says...he is 100% reliable. You need to come off trail and need a ride, he is there for you (or has one of his drivers pick you up). To me, that is golden.
Do yourself a favor, fall in love with Maine (like I did). Phil will make it easy with 100 Mile Wilderness Outfitters.

Catering to a more mature set of guests [this is not a party place], owner Phil is a former thru-hiker so he knows what hikers will find useful and comfortable. His knowledge of the area and the trail is most helpful. His well-appointed camp property has a common kitchen and lounge, two nice shower houses, a couple of cabins & bunkhouses, plenty of tent spaces, and two privies (no flushies), plus he's adding more amenities each season. Wonderful place!

Phil is the best! He originally assisted me on starting my South Bound Thru Hike of the Appalachian Trail. I've since went back twice and hiked the 100 Mile Wilderness. Phils knowledge of the 100 Mile Wilderness is unrivaled.
