Ionia Free Fair and Ionia Fairgrounds

Little bit of a drive for us (1 hr, 40 mins), but we had a great time enjoying the Hippie Festival going on there.

There were hundreds of booths available with really cool merchandise, about 10 different food trucks to choose from, and a great venue during the evening hours. (Santana tribute band (9/8/23)

Security was a little lax and we never had a show any of our tickets for the concert.

Their site indicated no alcohol could be brought, but no bags were checked. They did have one sponsored booth selling beer and hard seltzers.

I have attended many equine activities at the fairgrounds. The arena is covered and vented well, so it's a pleasure to sit and watch the competitions or clinics that they put on. This last one was a celebration of the horse and was excellent.

3 hours of Derby fun; worth every penny! $15 for adults. We parked across from Fairgrounds for $5. Walked into fair; lots of rides, games, animal barns, concessions, bar for those who want to relax & have adult beverages, smokers, to be considerate of others, are allowed to go off to the side of the fair and do your thing.

Love the family time and we love to go at night when it's cooler out and everything is lit up! Love the music,food and atmosphere

So much fun….a place where you can be a kid again! Highly recommend corn dogs from Gazellas and walking tacos from back of fair at Mexican place. Even played bingo in the back ….my 18 year old son’s first gambling experience❤

They have good food here. All of the vendors are CASH ONLY. the ATM charges 3.50 . The live stock was cool and the had a lot of baby animals the kids enjoyed. They have a lot of fun rides. The staff and operators are nice.

Lots of rides. Admission is free, but parking on the fair ground s is $10.00, otherwise you need to walk in & might save a couple bucks. Arnold is providing the rides this year 2022. Lots of food trucks so go hungry- but be prepared it's greasy! Vendors selling too. It was fun.

First time at the food rally, was a wonderful time with all these great food trucks. Can not wait until next year for sure!

So blessed to be able to see monster trucks this year for my son's birthday Also so very fun and loud. Always plenty of seats if you get there in a timely manner. Beer tent, vendors inside and food outside the gate. Family Fun Always

We had an AWESOME Evening! The food was fantastic! We rode 2 rides and ate several things.. Steak tips, mushrooms, fried vegetables, corn dog, Mexican street corn, funnel cake, elephant ear! Everything was GREAT!

The Four Horsemen did an absolutely amazing tribute to Metallica!! In fact I thought they were better than the original band!! They were awesome, played 2 hrs straight through without any breaks!!!

Got to see the parade this year...took me back to childhood and watching the fair unload from the train and parade down Main St.
I really missed the barns being filled with animals, but sure enjoyed the newborn lambs!

Workers are outstanding. Very kind and helpful. It was over 90 out and I along with a few others were overwhelmed by the heat. Sheriff gave me a ride to my car in the golf cart 🛒. Very friendly workers 7/22/22

Great time with family. It seems the fair is starting to make a nice comeback from the COVID shutdown from a couple of years ago. Lots of rides for younger kids is a plus. They had two ferris wheels this year. A wrist band for a day long riding the rides is a better deal than buying tickets individually. Food vendors were plenty with covered bench seating. The kids enjoy walking through the animal Barnes too. Free admission to the fair. Parking on fair grounds was only $10.

I went to hippie fest. Had a great time, then band's were great. But with the heat couldn't walk around to much to look at vendors.

Good size fair with tons of food, clothing and odds and ends vendors and games. I haven't gone on fast rides in 20 yrs, so I went on a few with my 9yr old. As a plus size woman, some of the rides were tougher on the body, but doable.

So much fun, so many rides and food vendors and games.. Open late.
The extras ,kids Bungie jumping..
4H animals a wonderful time in a safe environment, shout out to the police on food patrol.
Please bring back old fashioned picture booth.

I was impressed with everything to do with this fair. First it's free to get in. We did pay 10$ to park at the fair grounds but only had a short walk to the actual fair. The rides seemed very up to date and the food was above expectation.

Went to the car derby here. It was a blast as always, even though it rained, was muddy and cold. Love watching Thompson racing team.
