Fowler's Gulf

Fowlers began servicing our 4 Delivery Vans 3 years ago and they have never, ever let us down! Their service is excellent and prices are reasonable. Gary and his team come through for us each and every time and go above and beyond, we're lifetime customers.

"Competent and trustworthy." This is how my professor describes Fowler's and why he has taken his car here for the past twenty years. "But not the cheapest," he adds.

I left my car with them for the first time today, after I started hearing an intermittent grinding noise from the front left wheel well. I had already taken it to the local Pep Boys, who claimed it was a bad wheel bearing and estimated ~$500 for replacing the bearing and the parts they would need to destroy to get at the bearing itself.

It turns out the problem had nothing to do with the bearings. Last time I had brake work done, I'd only replaced the pads, not the rotors. Since then, the rotors had worn enough to develop a lip, which was rubbing against the pads, causing the noise.

The guys at Fowler's filed down the lip, and presto---no more grinding noise. They also checked the brakes to make sure they were safe (they were), and charged me less than $150. Competent and trustworthy; definitely worth it.

checked error codes on my car, explained them, and cleared them - all for free! plus, in general, the staff was very nice; small point, but kinda matters in terms of attention to detail - very clean bathroom

I live in Hamilton Square I take my car to Fowler's golf because there are very qualified mechanics never had a problem with them they are very fast and reliable very good people I would definitely recommend this place

I have been using them for repairs for the past 2 years and have only good things to say about them. Chiro (one of the mechanics) is excellent and has always given me great service; one of the few car-repair places where I feel I am not getting ripped off.

Quick service. Found the problem and fixed it in a few hours.

Nice guys, qualified mechanics, and quality work. But they charge a lot more for services than some of the other shops near Princeton Jct. I might as well go to the dealer at this point.

In their defense, these guys are one of the only few locals that were able to fix my car to pass inspection and certify it.

Not interested in listening to the problem. I said 'air conditioning' and he said '$225' -- without listening to what the problem was (I should have left right then, but was referred there by Kingston Garage so was hopeful). Only interested in finding ways to charge me. Turned out, problem was the blower motor (mice made a nest!) and not the AC cooling system at all (I tried to tell him it wasn't a problem with the AC coldness, etc.). Charged me for the blower motor fix AND to recharge the AC. Called three times in quick succession in order to tell me the problem, and then never called to let me know they had finished and my car was ready. It was obvious they were only interested in finding ways to charge me (for something I didn't need!). That being said, it looked like it was fixed competently, though I would never return there.

Check the prices first. Then go somewhere rlse. You can do better than $100/hr labor and $90 emissions testing. In their defense, the work was completed quickly and well, so it's not gering one star.

Seriously overpriced garage. Charged $140+ for an oil change in our Mazda. Definitely not going back there for any future work..
