River Station

We had a wonderful experience at the River Station Restaurant, a family-owned waterfront restaurant that has been serving delicious seafood and more for 40 years. The view of the Hudson River and bridge was stunning. Our beautiful server Lindsay was friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the steak and shrimp, which was cooked to perfection and came with roasted potatoes. My sister had the station steamers and Chicken Quesadilla which were delicious. My friend had the fried calamari as his dinner with a side of fries, which was tender and crispy. For the table we ordered Fried Caprise ( a little salty) . For dessert, we indulged in the apple crisp, which was moist and rich. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was a little hot but it was a thousand degrees outside. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu. River Station Restaurant is a gem in Poughkeepsie that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal with a view.

Loved the food and the service was great. Has a gorgeous view from the outside terrace. One of my favorite places hands down!

Everything was made to perfection. Burger came out medium rare just how I liked it. The fish and chips came out tasting fresh and crispy. The chowder I had before the burger was absolutely to die for (I believe there was one with lobster in it). Overall ambiance was amazing. It felt warm and nostalgic. Great views of the Hudson River. Beautiful place to go on a nice date after a nice walk.

First warm day (Saturday, 3/30) and my lady and I were seated outside. No wait, although it was fairly early (5:30) Great view. Service was fantastic. Brittany nailed it. Gina was awesome as well. We ordered drinks and calimari and it was banging. Perfect. Entrees were the fish and chips, with a shrimp skewer and the prime rib. Both we're extremely good, but the skewer was excellent! Kind of expensive, but worth it. Highly recommend this place.

Good surf and turf, wide selection of chowders and twenty or so draft beers. Service is quick and friendly and the view from the second floor is great, seeing over a park and the Hudson. Sunset can be spectacular. Ample parking all around. I definitely recommend a visit!

Just had a bridal shower in the upstairs room that overlooks the Hudson River. What a beautiful view! Prices were reasonable and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Delicious seafood eatery!!! Enjoyed the outdoor porch overlooking the two bridges in Poughkeepsie New York!

Enjoyed the clam chowder and a salmon salad. Loved the little crock pot that they use to serve the chowder. Soup was very thick and tasty. Maintains the food hot!!

The food was great as usual! And I don't think there's a better View of the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie! We had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was a little overdone. The lobster cake eggs benedict were amazing! And their lobster bisque was out of this world!

Staff was wonderful, Tatiana our server was very personable. Hostess was very informative ,as it was our first time there. They have free samples of their fresh made chowders and you can join their chowder head club.... All in all good food at average prices for this area. Views of the Hudson were magnificent!

Was greeted to a wonderful chowder sampler, friendly staff. Had a bit of a wait for the food but it was fantastic! Nice breeze off the Hudson River and beautiful view. Food is a little pricier side but you’re paying for quality. Had a nice time, definitely will come back

Great casual dining, chowder was good as well as burger and crab cakes. Huge selection of draft beers and spectacular view!

Upstairs view of the Hudson with setting sun was stunning!! We loved the bruschetta flat bread, mixed drinks + beers were hits all night, and the entrees were delicious. Portobello mushroom was *chef kiss*

Tatiana is the best waitress ever. knowledgeable, friendly, funny and energetic. i only want to dine when shes there. ALSO, food waz great, drinks were out of this world. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!!!

Portobello mushrooms stuffed with spinach, garlic, roasted red peppers, and goat cheese were awesome! Clams casino was great too. Great views of the river from upstairs seating

Great Food!! Great place to go to for a self-love date or a romantic date. It overlooks the Hudson River and the water glistens from the balcony while you eat. I loved it!

I always stop for lunch or dinner when going up and down the thruway. Excellent location, good food and great drinks...no complaints!

A perfect location to start an exploration of Poughkeepsie. The food service is fast and the location overlooking the Hudson River is great getting the mood of the place.

Right away we were asked if we'd like to sample the clam chowder bar (yes a bar!). They have 5 fresh made daily clam chowders, and all of them tasted GREAT! I ended up with the traditional New England clam chowder, and it was so thick and harty that I could have stood my spoon up in it!!! My daughter and I each got a cup of the clam chowder and split the Captain's Combo, and were stuffed! The Captain's Combo had broiled shrimp, stuffed clam, broiled scallops, baked haddock, and parmesan risotto (sight upcharge, but TOTALLY worth it!!!). All this wonderful food while taking on a beautiful sunset across the Hudson.... Wow! I came here two years ago, and loved it then too. Never disappointed!!!!!
