Michael's Casual Dining

The staff has always treated me well. The menu has a wide variety of items, my favorites are the chicken tenders, coconut shrimp and BBQ. The service is usually fairly quick and ask for the bread while waiting. They have beer on tap, but no liquor or bar. There's a senior menu on Thursday I think, but you have to eat in. The also have a loyalty card if you visit alot. In the summer they have an outdoor patio. Pictured is the pork BBQ, sweet potato fries and slaw, big portions!

In town for our girls trip to do the Hiwassee Loop Train Excursion. Family that lives nearby recommended this place and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was so kind and friendly and gave great suggestions on what to try. The boneless wings and sweet potato fries were mouthwatering and delicious. We also shared the trio platter of ribs, brisket and pulled pork. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

It's the second time i have been to Michael's....after several attempts to find a good steak in Athens I came upon this place ...the big ribeye is great I have had it twice now both times cooked and seasoned perfectly with a baked potato green beans and a salad it was beautiful and the price was definitely right.....but I have to mention the kid that waited on us both times was a very cool and went beyond the call of duty to make sure our orders were perfect ....I think his mame was shamus...sorry if I butchered it bud....but I think that was it he was great ask for him he's a sweet kid working his way though school....so for the best steak in Athens this is my choice and u have tried them all ....trust me

Needed to grab a bite on the way home. Found this place and wasn't disappointed... plenty of parking and the place seemed popular with the local crowd. The catfish was great.

Great down home family restaurant with excellent service. Our server Peyton was fast, efficient and showed so much professionalism. I was a little concerned about flies flying around but the establishment was clean. I ordered the pulled pork platter with coleslaw and baked beans. The coleslaw was different as it had some red cabbage and a mayonnaise taste with a hint of sweetness. The beans were great and the pulled pork was good with the sauce. Also, the chicken strips looks more like filets. If it wasn't for the sign on I-75 I would have missed this jewel.

Picked up our Thanksgiving dinner. Was 100% delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent lunch, very highly recommended! Easily found approx. 2 miles off of exit 52 on I-75. Fresh, hot, and fast- got the catfish plate and chicken and ribs dinner- can’t go wrong with both of those! Sides were French fries, Cole slaw, green beans, and fried okra- all were very good! Staff was friendly and efficient.

Oh my goodness!!! For the first time ever we purchased the take-home Thanksgiving meal. Scrumptious for all the foods: Oven Roasted Turkey, Sweet Potato Casserole, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Rolls, and Pecan Pie! We'll keep our fingers crossed that they offer it next year.

There is not enough start for this place to give a fair rating. It is 10 diamond In my eyes and belly. The food was amazing the service was warm genuine and heart felt consern for giving each guest the best experience. The prices where spot on and portations large so expect to have left overs. I can't wait to bring the whole family.

The food was good the only problem I could see in. It was the carpet either needs to be cleaned or it's kind of neat to be replaced.
It shows a lot of traffic and they probably sweep it but it appears to have a lot of oil or grease on it.

They have the best fried mushrooms in the country! The coconut chicken tenders are like an entire chicken breast and are so yummy 😋

We came right at open, and even then, I'm unsure how it wasn't already packed! The service, the food quality and quantity for price, and overall care they took for our group was astounding!
Most places usually want to show even atleast slight annoyance when you have to mention an allergy or something of some sort, but not here! Our waiter paid full attention to make sure he heard correctly and rest assured, he made sure my food was safely made.
Some menu items had pineapple in them, granted mine did not but a member of our groups food did.
I am highly allergic even just touching mixed fruit cup juice containing pineapple will burn my skin, eating a tiny bit or something thats touched it, causes anaphylaxis within moments.
However, not only was out waiter paitent and focused solely on me while I'd had to explain, he and the kitchen staff were highly attentive in making sure my food was never anywhere near pineapples or where pineapple had been (atleast not without proper cleanup beforehand trust me, I'd unfortunately had known if so).
Also, he made sure to nicely let me know when handing out plates, which put me at ease and allowed me to eat my food without having to be overly cautious of it at first.

Thank you to the full staff, that my allergy may have very well inconvenienced, for not treating me as if I were doing so and taking such wonderfully genuine care of and our group of diners!!

We found this spot randomly when needing to take a break from traveling. So glad we made the decision to stop here. Even though there was a crowd, we were seated quickly. The staff was great. Drinks stayed filled and they answered questions that we had. The beef tips were some of the best I've ever had. Honestly surprised me how good they were. Will definitely be stopping here again when we come back through.

My first time and our waiter Travis was awesome very helpful and checked on us frequently for refills and great place food outstanding service wonderful I definitely would recommend this place and I will be visiting it again

Great place to eat. Great hospitality. Abby was so awesome with me and my family. We were traveling through and wanted to try a restaurant and this would be a 10 stars if i could go that high! Will be back.

Michael’s in Athens is a spectacular restaurant in the area. They recently catered for a Halloween party we attended and everything they brought was incredible. 10/10 service aswell.

The entire menu is wonderfully and attractively prepared and tastes fantastic. Menu contains a lot of popular comfort foods. Service is fast, courteous, and attentive. Prices are extremely reasonable. I strongly recommend Michael's of Athens TN to everyone.

A quaint little stop after.a day of visiting the Lost Sea Adventures and Mayfield Dairy. This local eatery is in Athens, Tn. Hometown feel with decent food. While we were there, my husband tried one of the $12 Comfort Classics, Beef Stroganoff with sirloin tips. He absolutely loved it! My daughter had the Steak Burger and Mac and Cheese from the kids menu. I had the Sirloin and Shrimp dinner. The staff was very accommodating for me since I am on a lean and green diet and couldn't have fried shrimp. No hesitation. They responded without changing facial expressions and responded that they could certainly do grilled shrimp for me. No hesitation. That means the world to me. I get so nervous to make extra healthy choices and when staff immediately helps me I just am so appreciative. We had a young lady in training. I watched the person training her and it always speaks wonders to see how the new person is treated. This place is your southern style feel at home atmosphere. No pretenses. The food was wonderful.
